@MrDJ - So maybe all those delays were indeed them stalling, they did it so much they couldnt keep track of it and ended up building your laptop just when you were supposed to be getting the "delayed" parts.. Hope thats it..
I *think* you get the shipping info from AW and then a separate Shipping number from FedEx (in US at least).. Dunno about DHL..

Mine moved to phase 9 from last Saturday. However I haven't received any email from them.

Try calling them..
Email them as well so you'll have an electronic record that you did inform them that they haven't contacted you about your m15x.. -
But, why would they be stalling, unless something else is going on at AW. -

sounded like the french bloke was a little confused himself.
so im not holding my breath. would rather it be shipped on wednesday as that gives it 2 more days to be checked.

I'm not sure what to say - maybe it was previously built and they were just waiting for the 200GB HDD to fit in. Hope you get it soon! It looks like the phase 5 nightmare's moved on to me

Take it easy... You guys are too picky with this phase thing. I think AW shouldn't put this number things... It creates too much expectations and antecipation on the clients. I'm sure it can even lead to nervous breakdowns. -

9.10am moved to phase 6
rang up and asked what was happening and was told my system was finished and was being shipped today?????
i explaned how can it be shipped if the part i was waiting for was only delivered on friday and there is no production line over the weekend. was told after he checked it might be shipped on wednesday???

4pm moved back to phase 5 WTF
CS explaine that due to the parts being changed the order number also needed to be changed and this is what could be causing the delay.
she went to check.
8 minutes later she said i see you have moved from phase 4 to phase 5 today.
i lost the plot
i said actually ive been in phase 5 for the past 21 days. she said in not so many words no you hav'nt.
i asked could she explain to me why this morning i was told it was finished and was waiting to be shipped.
she said the chap i spoke to was new and hadnt read all the notes.
she offered to ring me in 48 hours to keep me updated on the status.
i lost the plot again
from tomorrow i will be ringing every 2 hours on the dot.
the moral of this story is: dont beleave the phase game as its a load of ****e. -

okay my order is not that long ago but in your case MrDJ I would pretty much be upset.... it seems as if alienware would be a tiny new company that didn't expect the number of orders for there new system .. but no .. like notebookreview writes "Alienware is the world's largest boutique brand, offering high-performance systems for gamers and enthusiasts." ... frustrating.. -

living in America i don't know how things are in the UK, but here you get a shot to talk to the "retention" or "cancellation" department, since these peoiple jobs is to prevent you from leaving the company they have straight answers and more power to compensate... try to get one on the phone next time you call... remember the 3 rules to dominate CS:
1 don't get upset... if you loose your cool you might as well not call
2 be clear and strong but do not yell (no one likes to be yelled more so when working, a calm attitude and acknowledging the CS has done everything they could will get you places)
2 be nice to the rep (after all they are not really able to resolve, just state you want to explore the options you have)
when talking to retention or whatever: don't treaten them, you would like to receive your system but after waiting so long you want compensation..... don't beat around the bushes... state what you consider to be fair and see what they can do
Fair is the key word... getting the system for free is not fair... getting an $800 VC (... hardly fair) the trick is asking for a reasonable resolution and something to make you want ot wait a little longer (it also helps to ask for something they manufacture, since is more cost effective) -

Ohh i didn't mean like you already yelled... it just seems common practice ... i read this blog (consumerist.com) [in case you wonder is sister site to gizmodo] and they have several posts on "how to get what you deserve out of CS" .... so those are the most common mistakes....
as per the cancellation line.. as I said, you want to talk to them because you want to be retained as customer, the shirt is cool but it wouldn't hurt to get something... more... yes i'll say it out loud, usefull!. -

ive seen from previous posts that once people threaten to cancel they have been offered AW carry bags or back packs. if it lasts much longer i think i will be going down that route.

now i can see where the confusion occured yesterday.
when i spoke to CS yesterday morning i was told my system had shipped out. then in the afternoon i was told no it hadnt.
the person i had spoke to in the morning had not read all the notes and it was actually my tee shirt that had been shipped.
still doesnt explain why i moved to phase 6 for 3 hours and then back to 5 again.
just to add insult to injury, ive just received an email 30 minutes ago with my dhl shipping number for the tee shirt explaining how to track its progress.
slightly late as its already been delivered to my home.
IF ONLY AW COULD GET THEIR COMPUTERS OUT AS FAST.
another email appologising AGAIN and explaining my system should be shipped out within 5-7 working days.
so that means not until next week.

well I know this is a little off topic, but how about the toshiba notebook took 35 minutes to bring up a useable desktop while it installed all the garbage?
It only took me 1.5 hours to flatten it, put xp and all drivers/ software on.
and yes there does seem to be bad comms at AW (back on topic see?)
but its getting to the stage that it could affect future sales, thats making things look a little less rosy for Alienware -
Ok I phoned in today and a french guy picked up!
What on earth!! Half of the time he was talking on english, the other half of the time he was talking french.. luckily I know a bit of french.
He said it's definitely in production and I should call in next monday if it doesn't go into phase 7 by then. So we'll see... -
