Dont feel like scrolling back 2 get the quote but who said they've seen a shadowed picture of a lappy and two desktops? dont think I've seen this one. I'm thinking at this point I dont care what card my new m15x comes with as long as the next gen cards use the mxm3 port. Seems like the 280 would be a strong runner for a while unless the 5k series completely crushes it. My question would be if these new cards come out in jan how many of you m17x owners would make the switch?
-
-
Huh...Never saw those. But thats the most concrete proof imo now
-
Too bad they didn't include a countdown this time. -
Just a quick on topic question: Why is it that we think the date is Wednesday and not Thursday? I know that one video pointed to Wednesday (23rd) but all the written docs Ive seen point to day one of TGS....the 24th.
I would be prepared to get nada on Wednesday. -
If not, they are 13 hours ahead of EST (you are in Cali so 16 hours). You'll know at 0600 on Wed -
These two pics were posted earlier on for anyone else who wants to see them
EDIT: Anyone know whats on the right side? (hard to tell :S)Attached Files:

Really hard to tell seems like most people here think its a desktop which makes sense if you look at the alien heads, the head all the way to the right is sitting above the new lappy unless its a 12" on a little tripod stand... Pretty sure TheMoo and others pointed out that its 2 desktops one might be a mini form factor of some kind.
-
they removed the m15x and only left the refurbished units. they are getting something good ready....maybe a new sentia :O

1 post don't matter

I couldnt help thinking that the alienhead on the top of the case like on the left would mean a case similar to the antec 1200, just my thoughts on the matter

Can't wait for whatever comes out!
Should be interesting whatever specs they have.
Man does AW know how to get everybody drooling. -

Well it is only two more days (well three for me, it is almost same date here as it is in Tokyo)....we will find out soon enough.
-
Sorry.
If you're in the States than it will be 9pm EST on Wed (not 9am like I stated before).
Just wanted to clear that up -

like it matters Sleey0...none of us sleep anyways haha
-
True, but I want to know when to start snooping around Dell's website for the configurator
-

well I am afraid the google UFOs are unrelated to the upcoming Alienware stuff

Just thought I would throw this out there and crush some dreams lol -
Google's page today gives it away (HG Wells).

Confirmed, M15X will have mobile i7. Cant give any more detail at the moment.
-
That's good news. I was aiming for the M17X for a long time, but since I've heard about the 15"-version, I've decided to wait. It'll suit my needs better. -
The internet is anonymous and people start off with zero credibility. Just saying confirmed does not actually confirm anything without also establishing solid source material to either back up your claim or to establish your credibility.
You've provided no worthwhile information to end speculation on whether or not the M15x will use i7. -
Like I said, I have all three new systems here with me.
Anyone want benchmarks??
lol -
Darhan is the only creditable person here that I know of
I vouch for him as he has delivered for me countless times and he says it has it then it does -
-
Yes he did and if he did post his info he would be fired

Woohoo, the modile i7....kind of ironic then my stepdaughter will have a more advanced CPU than me....should give her a good first impression of capitalism....

What a tease
-
This fight about the M15X having the I7 or not is ridiculous. Just in terms of marketing, it would be non-sense to not have the I7.
Remember that Dell is really trying its best to make the best PC out there for gamers, therefore they will be faster than ever before to implement the latest from Intel.
Where an XPS had to wait up to 9 months for the latest CPU, I would guess anything in the All Powerful line will take less than 3 months.
I would also suspect a revised version of the M17X around Christmas with the I7 as an option.
What I just wrote is not confirmed since I have no reliable source of information but is totally logical in terms of marketing for AW/Dell. -
So what GPU will these new M15X get? cmon spill the beans -
I am not worried about the cpu, anyways.
I want to know what GPU they have up their sleeve -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
indeed, the GPU is what we are all watching for, as the CPU will have a minimal effect on actual gaming
-
Anyone heard of any comparisons between the fastest i7 mobile and the QX9300? Does i7 have 4 cores?
You have all given me information that requires I scower that there interweb. -
Ok, good news. The i7 mobile architecture is going to be released at 3 speeds:
1.6ghz
1.73ghz
2ghz
They just tested the 1.73ghz unit and it is posting speeds almost identical to a stock QX9300. The 2ghz i7 will definitely be the fastest kid on the block. And i7 is indeed a four core architecture.
Find some info here:
And some performance benchies here: -
I assumed all that information was already established..a while ago. In regards to the PC Pro article, Phinagle already remarked that they used a Dell with components that favored the i7 over the QX9300
Whether or not the i7 (2.0ghz) would be better suited for gaming over the QX9300 (2.53ghz) is still to be determined, but it seems as if the i7 would have the advantage due to architecture.
EDIT: I'm just hoping when there is a M17x refresh, it would have the 32nm tech -

One thing to note about the i7 at 2ghz, when two of the cores are stagnant the other two cores are accelerated to 3.2ghz using Intels Turbo Boost.
That, and the 1.73 i7 is going to be $750.00 cheaper then the QX9300. -
Yea the turbo boost seems to be a significant feature..if it works properly in all conditions

Knock it off with the if...else statements, please.
Just finished my programming course and I don't want to hear nor see it anymore.

if else statements xD -
Think I'll happily stick with my QX9300 that can run all 4 cores at 3.06GHz rather than an i7 that can clock 1 core to 3.2GHz as long as the others aren't doing anything. So if all 4 cores are flat out the i7 is stuck at 2GHz. Are the desktop i7's overclockable or has intel already used all the headroom?
-
i7 and all is great but.. if the screen sucks then who cares. Tell me this will have RGB LED as an option and I'm all in.
