The landfall pic, IMO, is a pic of the new lineup:

    -New desktop chassis style
    -M17x
    -M15x

With all 3 resembling each other somehow... :p

If it doesn't look exactly the same it will be similar. No big deal. I will be a bit disappointed if it's not mobile i7. I'd even be OK with them saying shipping won't start for a couple months. Since I doubt either will happen I won't get my hopes up.

If you seriously prefer a 15" version of the M17x then I would just return it. You know it's going to happen.

I have a desktop. Are they just updating the case of components? That's the question.

The desktop will be totally different. It will have the same impact the M17x did for laptops.

Your Aurora looks pretty top notch.

Unless you want an i7 then I think it would be a waste to return (especially with the restock fee).

I would return it. But that's just me. You can fool yourself all you want into thinking you won't want it when it is revealed but chances are everyone will want a new one. Especially if you just happen to have bought an older model a few weeks ago.

I have to agree with WaR, I really hate the feeling when you've just bought something and then something new comes out and if you just waited those 2 weeks you coulda had it ;).

Besides, Ati's Dx11 gfx cards should be avaible in the new Desktop and you could choose a SSD over the older raptor disks. Just my $0.02 though

Depends on how much that 15% ends up costing :)

If it is going to be like $400 to return it, then I'd be like heck no.....

    I guess that's just me.

I'd just stick with the Aurora if I were you, with those specs it shouldnt really have any difficulty maxing whatever comes out in the next year/year and a half, unless of course you're one of those people obsessed with benchmark scores. Then,by all means return it XD

Ah I see. He better spill some milk on that thing or something. Then he can say he has been troubleshooting it all this time. lol

Man, Alienware without Dell is just not the same. Dell would do anything for their customers.

They didn't say I HAD to pay it...but its outlined in the return policy and I don't think the negotiate it until you actually call to make the return/re-order. I haven't gone there yet until I see the new desktop cases.

Not really interested in SSD...but DX11 and a NEW case will probably sway me since I'm within the 30 days. I'd probably stay with AMD if its an Aurora release, they will probably put in the 3.2ghz Phenom II...again it's all speculation for us all until it hits the website.

Doesn't the left system have an AW logo (alienhead) on the front?

If so, I don't think it will be an XPS.....

Really looking forward to seeing these new products. I feel bad for AMDgamer as im in a similar situation. im still playing phone tag with a "dell relationship manager" over being hit with the restocking fee for returning my M17x. I plan on using dells unresolved customer service issue option to hopefully get out of it once the system is back in dell hands. I had returned it to get a better config, but now im going to hold off to see what Alienware's new offerings are.

I was under the impression that Alienware was the new XPS Gaming, so I would think that there are no more XPS Gaming desktops coming out, just more Dellienware PC's :D!

Can't wait, now I'll just have to decide between the M17x and the M15x.

I'm betting on a 9-09-09 announcement. Beetles has their "invasion" release date set for then and it coincides with other extraterrestrial related topics of interest.

    But that's another thread...

I was looking at that one too. I like how it's wired/wireless. I say go with that one instead of the tactx. It's basically what...a g9? with revamped?

yes..but the G9 is one of the most highly regarded out there, I really wouldn't mind having an Alienware revamp of a "5 star" mouse.

How is the size of the G9? I think the Razer could be a better notebook mouse due to it's size, and it's capability of wired or wireless.

The size/form of the G9 is fantastic, for me anyway. I fear the orochi would be too small..

Only if the damn AW mouse had wireless capabilities, it'd be perfect

Sucks. And that supposed Dell Signature Event is from September 10th to the 16th. It seems like all Alienwares will be included in it. This makes me think the M15x might still be a long way off. Why would they bring out a new computer during a sales event?
