List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

I am just glad I am not going to be out of a laptop as long as I initially thought, I sold my old trusty M170...
Dell website has an updated delivery date:

Shipping Method: 5-7 Day Delivery
Shipped Date: 1/29/2010
Estimated Delivery Date: 2/5/2010 (updated)
Carrier: FEDEX GROUND

So that is 12 days early, works for me

 

Just got off the phone with Dell to see if there was any problems with my order.... They said its still expected to be delivered by 2/4. Original order date 1/14.

My parts list still shows the old DVD drive that everyones been getting cancelled on. They basically knew nothing of what i was talking about when i tried explaining it....

For the people who had their order cancelled, were you notified of this or did they just re-enter the new one? I was told if theres any changes i'd be called to accept them or cancel...

 

Anyone who lives in california got an early delivery date?

 

I am in cali, and have not progress to boxing yet.

how do you get the option of blu-ray drive?
I live in California, too, but the Alienware site only have DVD drive.

go ebay and search CA10N if you want blu-ray drive. it is $100.00.

 

Refused to add shipping ... He said he was going to try to exposures but came back and said they couldn't due to the high volumes and the expiditeing service was Down

 

It showed up on the order status site. No one notified me.

I was denied expediting also but NBD was no issue.

 

He said no ... Should I call back ?

 

The company im buying the m17x from are buying the blu-ray drive straight from dell and fitting it in themselves. So the warranty wont be void

I would. I just mentioned that my laptop had died earlier in the week and thus I would like to upgrade to NBD and they gave me no trouble. I did call fairly late in the evening and got a rep in India, so you might want to give that a shot.

 

With others reporting they are going into shipping I'm guessing it's too late.

 

Whenever I called to change the shipping during the boxing phase of an order, I was always told it was too late because the process had started. I wonder if any lurkers have already received their M17x-R2's?

Ah ok, the company ive ordered from is based in Torrance, california. I have no idea where that is, but hopefully its near san diego

Well the guy i speak to on live chat said that he had spoken to his dell rep who had never heard of stages, but only "in-production" and "shipping". He also called the automated order line and that never gave him the option to find out which stage my order is on! i even linked him the dell order status thread on the forum!

He should be on live chat any minute now and hopefully he'll check on the dell website and my order status will be "shipping"! .

I ordered mine the day the m17x refresh happend and people who ordered >10 days after me are going to get theirs before me! Dell has a strange priority system lol.

 

A lot of us ordered it on the 22nd and are in boxing. I know I talked to Rengsey on the 22nd and "forced" him to buy one. I bought a couple hours after he did and I'm in boxing.

Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to order handling. On the other hand, when I ordered, delivery was estimated on 2/15, so no grounds for complaint.

Im not really going to worry about it anymore. I mean 4 different reps in different countrys(probably) told me it would for shure ship by hte ETA.

 

I'm guessing he must be joking. I think it's safe to assume most of us got the new M17x because of the RGB LED.

 

well thing is i didnt know how bad it was as ive been using a m1730.Anyway after reading all the stuff on here about it i shafted myself lol. Ive asked them to change it to an RGB led but its a no fly zone

If they had a 17" version that was 1" thin with an XGP port I'd be all over it.

Tell them you intend to return it since it's not what you wanted. Trust me you definitely do not want that CCFL based on what I've read about it.

No need for links, just ask the guys in this thread. The majority of them are ex-M17x-R1 owners that had the CCFL. If mine ships out on Monday then I should have mine a day after you Witcher.

 

I cant really complain now as this is my 3rd machine replacement dell has given me. I doubt very much they will let me return it and respec it with the RGB led.

What kinda problems guys did u have with the CCFL. Must admit this LG LPL panel on the 1730 is nice.

 

When you bought your M1730, I'm assuming the 1200p on that was top of the line. They should give you a top of the line display in the M17x-R2 as well for a replacement.

 

i don't know what is going on with dell my last computer ships from texas it takes one day only but this one is on nashville i hope you get yours fast joker

 

Im still awaiting my order confirmation and numbers. So no idea how long it will take to get mine.

However the Alienware Area51 arrives on monday and a dell sp2309w. think that will keep my busy until my laptop is shipped!
