Any new info on your tracking number? EDD?

 

Hey, I have the same issue as you. I ordered 1/17/10 with ETA of 2/5/10, also with 5/7 day shipping. Mine still says in production even though it should have already shipped. When I called in they also said everything was still on time....have you gotten any updates?

 

I agree , it will be a week of many M17XR2 unboxings
I got a copy of Mass Effect 2 ready to install as soon as I get mine, which still holding for Wednesday, wow, just 3 days away
Then we got BioShock 2 on Saturday 9th

 

I quit checking on the order line status..lol. I sent an e-mail yesterday to Res. Spec. to hit me up....and tell me whats going down on my order. I'm not chasing anymore.

 

There will be plenty to read here to help this next few days go by quicker, benchmark threads, LED screen settings etc... That awesome illuminated keyboard of the M17XR2 will be under your finger tips before you know it

 

I'll be firing up battlefield bad company 2, frontlines fuel of war, left 4 dead 2, dirt 2, gta 4 and mw2 on it Of course the obligatory benchmarks as well though I'm not much of a benchmarker (though this system may change that).

Surprisingly I only called once today. Hopefully tomorrow when I wake up there will be some good news.

 

My son its been playing LFD2 online in his Area 51 Desktop, I watch him play every now and then, he plays in the 'Experts" server, he has a group of buddies that play really good together, they kick some serious a$$ man, I get entertained just watching :O and since the R2 come with steam preinstaled, I might be getting myself a license to L4D2 from steam and join in the fun too

 

Do you already have a tracking number for yours? I hope one day I can game with my son too

No updates, supposed to ship tomorrow so just going to call them again when it doesn't. At that point a concrete problem will have actually occurred and hopefully it will get taken care of.

 

Definitely interested in GTA4 performance. It's painful on my M1710. I'd like to actually see some shadows & detail without watching a slideshow.

I think the gaming is in the genes man, my daughter who is 13 now is also an avid gamer, she is into Borderlands now, she started playing as "The Siren", but didnt like it, now she is "The Berserker" and she loves it lol!!

No, my order was never canceled, it seems it went right through, I guess I was lucky to not get that one DVD drive that apparently has been causing delays... Oh, and the date of Feb 3 is with ground shipping or 5 to 7 days ,if I had call in time to Dell and ask about an upgrade to NBD my lappy would have gotten here tomorrow. I called Dell back when my order changed to "Boxing" and had a very nice lady rep answer, she said she would had been more than happy to upgrade my shipping to NBD but that it was not possible once the order hits a certain point in the production line, and mine was over that point, but it would had not matter that much since the weekend was in the way, and I am only getting it 2 days later as opposed to NBD, not bad at all....

Is it me or did dell take off the prelim ship dates for alienware laptops on the US website?

Mine is still the the production stage, but it says that it is going to ship tomorrow. Do they not update their phone system on the weekend?

I thought for sure I was getting the tracking number by last night. Hopefully now by EOD.

 

So I just called dell again and they said they have to cancel the order. Such bs, considering I called in a day before and they said everything is okay. My advice is that if you have the slot loaded DVD drive you should call them immediately. They will prob tell you that you will have a weeks delay, but i wouldn't trust them. Cancel it, reorder and demand some discount and get free shipping...

My first post here ever, but mostly because you all understand my "pain".

Ordered my R2 (i7 720, 4GB 1333, 1200p R G B LED, 640GB Raid 0 (2x320GB), Nebular Red, Dual 1GB 4870s) on 1/19.

Dell cancelled and re-entered on the 28th with the DVD swap -- new EDD 2/16 (pushed from 2/5).

Back to the end of the line I guess, now at Build stage (again) day 3. Argh, this is killing me.

Whomever gets theirs first, post a nice little review so I can drool on my keyboard a little more

The problem is Dell is apparently just plain f'd up in their order processing...

At this point I don't believe anything they say unless the machine is my hot little hands...

 

Anyone who had their order canceled by Dell have their re-order in boxing yet? My re-order is still in build as of this morning.

 

When I called Friday for a status it told me it was being shipped. I didn't trust it since I just ordered it Wednesday. I called again this weekend and it now states in the build stage.

I called and talked to a resolution specialist explaining that this was a replacement I had to order for the M17x that I had returned within my 21-day period. I said I am without a laptop for work since then and asked if there was anyway it could be expedited. I was told expediting the order may not be possible since it was in the build stage already. But he did upgrade my shipping to NBD for free.

It pays to read these forums and get tips from the experts! Hopefully I will get it before the weekend now.

 

Turtle, when did the reorder go thru? A couple people who ordered on the 22nd who had theirs canceled are already in boxing/shipped. Not sure if they have gotten a tracking number though.

I wonder if they suddenly had all these systems sitting there waiting for the original part, got the access to the correct drives, and as soon as the new orders came in they grabbed these and began shipping them which is why they are suddenly hitting the road so fast...

You can use this to approx. when it will be delivered. Remember not to count today as a transit day, so if you shipped today and you have a 2 day transit time then you'll get it on Weds.

I'm a little bit shocked, my order seemed to go through without a single hiccup, despite all the issues everyone has been having.

With NBD shipping, my system should come in tomorrow which has me physically drooling as I'm sitting here at work.

I placed the order on 1/21 and the ETA was 2/8, so clearly Dell's numbers are not accurate since I will be getting mine tomorrow.

In all actuality, I called a rep today and he told my order actually shipped Friday, although the website never refreshed the status until this morning. I should be getting the system today, but I'm letting them slide until tomorrow since that's when the order page was updated.

Dell's estimates are really something of a crapshoot, and the stories seem to change constantly depending upon who you talk to. I'm not thrilled with Dell's customer service because of this, it kind of just seems like their reps say whatever they want/can and you'll never get a consistent story. However, at the end of the day as long as my system comes in and boots up, ahead of the ETA, I guess I don't have much to complain about.

also ordered the razer mamba and the backpack for traveling but dont know if i will be carring it that much I am not worried about the weight because I can carry more than 15lbs. lol
will get the razer megalodon soon unless i find a better set
