Mine is also 15/2 aswell.
-
Mine arrived today WOOHOO! Saturday delivery FTW!
-
enjoy it man i got mine friday when i got off work. i haven't left my computer desk since
-
Jealous
-
How did you get saturday delivery btw?
-
Fedex Home delivers Tues - Sat standard.
-
Don't know, just lucky I guess. I got upgraded to NBD last week, but didn't ship until Friday. I guess they changed it to Residential Delivery because I'm in North FL, pretty close to Nashville and there was space on the truck.
-
That is awesome!
-
I bet it really wasn't NBD.
Sometimes the reps change it on the order status, but it gets disapproved and doesn't change back.
What does the actual label say? -
Fedex Home. The order status page showed NBD about 30 mins after I hung up w/ the CSR, and the detailed order status line showed a two day earlier EDD as well, so I assume that they actually did upgrade. My rep called a couple of times (everytime my order changed status,) so maybe he connected the dots and made a quickie change to make it home delivery. I'm planning on giving him good feedback because he was helpful, had a good attitude, and actually followed up.
-
Nah, what happened is exactly what I said
It's happened to me before. The rep can try and upgrade the shipping but it can get shot down by higher ups. The order status won't change, though.
Doesn't matter as it worked out better for you
-
I've been a bit less than thrilled with Dell also. My order confirmation says Standard Nameplate even though I ordered it as engraved. Along with that, I ordered in January and they have changed my delivery date from 2/2 to 2/9 and my system is still "In Production".
When I called my rep about the whole nameplate snafu he says he can't do anything about it tonight because they are about to close and to call back and see what they can do to fix it on Monday. *facepalm*
I am seriously considering sending the machine back if/when it finally shows up probably early march at this rate, since they probably won't fix the nameplate anyway and people are apparently having various issues with them. I also really would like to have the 5*** series GPU in my next machine. I have had mixed feelings about ASUS laptops in the past, but that G73 is looking a bit sweeter nowadays when I think about the cost savings.
Oh well. -
My order was just moved from the 10th to the 18th bummer
oh well i knew the 10th was a dream date!
-
Ever since I ordered my M17x my desktop gaming rig has taken a dive
So part of my troubleshooting was to replace my power supply... so off to bestbuy...
And there, on the shelf, is a Quasar blue M17 just sitting there for me to stare at.. touch and drool on... (and that sucker is HEAVY). What a nice screen...
After my treatment on friday (phone queue hell until they closed at which point they drop you in the automated system) I was going to call Monday and cancel...
Now? Not so much.... It's worth the pain and suffering.. -
SHIPPED NBD!
I hope it comes either Monday or Tuesday!!
-
Im still stuck in "Order Received" I was expecting it to change at least today.
But No.
-
Hey shinoby. What was your order date?
-
Woohoo! Just hit shipped as well
Order date of 1/27, 7 days in build, 3 in boxing.
-
Neutron I have the same specs as you except with 4gb memory, and I got an email from my rep saying the delay was from a shortage of part. Didn't specify which part.....820 maybe
Edit: I just checked the us website only 1066 memory is available -
My order date was the 28th Jan, sorry for the late reply.. Super Bowl
-
YAY!!! My order got pushed back another week!!!! FDELL
its now the 26th
-
SHIPPED here too as of this afternoon! Order date was 1/27.
It is just in-transit to the carrier which probably means FedEx won't get it until Monday and I should get it Tuesday with my NBD. But at least it is on the way finally. Can't wait to fire that puppy up! -
Did they tell you why you keep getting pushed back??
-
i sent an email to my rep but im sure he dosent work on the weekend hopefully ill find out why tomorrow.
-
probably delayed because of 1333 memory...
-
Well I ordered mine on the 5th of this month. It says it is in production already but I expect it stays there for a few weeks. They are telling me that the ship date will be the 19th.
The last machine I ordered from Dell (yikes I swore I would never order from them again). was in boxing for a week. Must be a special box.
After hearing all the push backs I sure hope mine comes before March. -
So far my rep has been a total waste of oxygen. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, however.
-
When did you order?
-
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I think they are holding back a bit. It seems that me and a few R2 owners are experiencing flickering and micro stuttering in benchmarking and games. It could be a Driver , Bios , or CPU (920XM) issue. but not sure if this has to do with any of you guys delays. ...
AW has picked up Joker R2 and he should give us more info in a few days. -
I ordered on the 31st of January. Supposedly my ship date is 2/9, but that's not looking likely as i've not even reached boxing.
I am not sure how to cancel this order now that it's in the build stage, but there is an FTC law out there where if Dell delays your order, they must offer you the option of canceling. Hopefully that means no restock fee or having to pay shipping if I can cancel before they ship.
I definitely still want an M17x, but I think I might prefer to wait until the 5870's are out, given all of the issues this refresh has created and all the uncertainty surrounding these machines coming from Dell. I dunno, I'm still on the fence, but one thing is for sure - if the delay continues, I will start doing all I can to cancel and wait for the new cards. -
You should not have any difficulties canceling while in build stage.
-
I hope you're right. If they bump it past the 9th, I am gonna start trying. Reading online tho, I see they really push people around when they try to cancel once in production.
-
I did it without any problems. Just say that you want to cancel another config in a while. If they don't agree hang up and call again. I think you won't see any difficulties. Good luck anyway
-
Cool, thanks, let's hope I don't have to worry about it.
-
I wouldn't worry too much. I ordered mine 1/27 and it finally went in boxing Friday morning (2/5). It is in shipping now, FedEx has it today, and will be delivered tomorrow. Your specs are not much different than mine so you should be in boxing by the end of the week. My original ship date was and always has been 2/18. Your ship date was a little unlikely, but it will ship soon.
As far as the issues with the R2s so far they have been with those who have the 920 CPU. You have the 820 and as far as we know right now they are fine. Stay positive.
-
Another call another disappointing result
After telling the person that I had horrible service on Friday and that if he transfers me to the wrong person I will cancel, he transfers me to a group that is closed.
I can't imagine the market for $3k laptops is that great that Dell can continue to people off - maybe i'm wrong... -
wait a few more minutes american side rep's arnt at work yet
he was probabluy like i better bring in the big guns but didnt realize the time diffrence its 740am central so maybe try again in 20min?
-
what number can i call now ??? (before 8am)
-
well i dont know a direct line to "American Reps" but if you have a rep yourself try there extension. Thats who ive been calling is my rep i dont talk to anyone else he is pretty much awsome lol
-
Can i have your reps name and number?
I'd love to talk to an American for once
/no offense -
+1 on that
-
Just checked the automated line. I am in the boxing stage. They have not updated my ship date though. Even with 3 days in boxing I may still get it this week then ill test my 920 to see if I get the same issues.
...I don't think I have any new games besides Dragon Age. I may need to go out and by a copy of Crysis. -
crysis is probably the best benchmark game i would say must have to see were your computer stack up with the majority of other video games out there. if You can max res and run at very high/ high its pretty much gauranteed no game will challenge your system
-
Just got off the phone with a "resolutions specialist" of some kind.
He informed me that the factory is currently missing parts, he did not know exactly which parts are out of stock exactly...
Man, i hope i get it on time.
I asked for NBD and he told me that he had put on a request for it (??) as well as a request to expedite the production of my laptop.
Personally i think it was his way of saying "dude, get lost" but i am hoping for the best. -
If you ordered through EPP then anytime you call they will transfer you to that department when dealing with order issues. The problem is they only work those Monday-Friday and it's based on CST in the US. If you call now you should be able to talk to someone finally.
-
Have faith in him. I went through the same thing when I said I needed the laptop after sending back my M17x-R1 and needing it for work. I did get the NBD and he got approval for expediting my order. It is now being delivered tomorrow.
-
These are excellent news then!
All i've been hearing here, is that people got the NBD immediately so it was weird to hear about those requests.
He also said, that i will be contacted in the following 48 hours with answers about whether or not i was approved the NBD and expedite production -
I just noticed that over on the Dell XPS 1730 area people are talking about all their problems as well. Seems many of them are getting replacement machines from Dell in the form of Alienware M17x units. I wonder how Dell handles them if they get put in line ahead of retail orders or just stuck in the queue as if they had ordered regularly.
My unit says in production which I am told means they make it a bit harder to cancel.. Looking forward to getting it sometime this month. -
i hope that those replacement m17x orders are going to the back of the line, that wouldn't be fair otherwise.
-
I would assume in a buisness since dell is going to treat any sell no matter what name is on it the same. So if they move someone to the head of the line who had problems with there m17x there going to do the same with anyother issues. Depending on when they reported the problem of course and at what stage in the process there at so lets say this. I purchased my laptop on the 4th and a person with the 1730 got his on the 1st but has since returned it on the 5th he will probably be put in line ahead of me since he would be the person more likely to cancel his order then i would seeing as how my process was just started and his has been going for awhile that makes since?
List everyone M17x-R2 ETA
