What is that buyback guarantee you guys are talking about ? I didn't see such an option. What is that ?

I know how you feel but it looks like anything ordered right now instantly goes to 3/10 - and you're going to be waiting until at least 2/25 for the current order.. unless something incredible happens...

25 bucks is nothing, you're not guaranteed to sell it online, that's only if you're a stickler on the price and not provide a good deal like Moo did.

 

Just if you are wondering, that buyback program is not affiliated with Dell.

" Give me your laptop for the price of nothing and we turn our back and sell it for the price of something. lol ...!! "

It should just have that in the terms of agreement. lol

True $25 is nothing (almost free according to my wife )

But if you're paying $3000 for a laptop and after 6 months they'll only give you $1500, that's a hosing - you'll easily get $2200 for it

Especially if this long lead time remains...

after paying this much for a laptop I don't plan on getting rid of it for a few years I will just upgrade if I need to. Thats why I got AW because its upgradable and besides I love this thing way too much.

Does Alienware allow you to return your old M17x for the R2??? Didn't DR650SE do that???? Does the R2 really make a big difference?

hmm not in the regard i think your insenuating but if you have alot of problems and there not able to fix them they will allow you too return it for a comparable priced one probably an r2

 

this is how you do it if you want to exchange for R2, or maybe an higher spec R1. Call for problems, have tech check, after check problem still presists. call again saying your tired of having problems with your laptop that you want to exchange for another system, a system that doesn't have problems, and if you get that second system and its still has problems, repeat.

i think im going insane lol i figured i was doing so well but with 2 delays and such, im kinda feigning for the beauty of the rgb led I NEED MY EYE CANDY AND I NEEDS IT NOW!!!

 

Cant I just Upgrade to the i7 processor and new ATI graphic Cards??? Those two are really the only difference right except for the LED screen, which I really dont care about, I already have a 1200p screen

anyones laptop actually come in earlier than their delayed eta?

 

i saw a case or two but i think it was Australian users reporting it.
I wouldn't count on it. If anything they might delay it again..
I suspect they put a hold on all the m17x-r2 machines until the new bios version that solves the flickering is released. But it's just a guess.
Fine with me, i prefer to wait extra week and get a fully functional machine.

 

When i re-ordered i was able now to get the EPP through Boeing so i got the 920

 

It will be canceled again next week, I hope not though, because that means they are starting to get them out the door. It will most likely be in March

 

So I just reordered my laptop. The original had a ton of issues. My rep told me the current back orders were on the gpu's and the led screens. My ETA is 3/17, but i'm betting I get it within the first week of March (at the latest).

I got free Next day delivery and free upgrade to blue ray burner

 

i doubt it.

if they did that means that my order would be bieng built for 40+ days. While at the same time, people who ordered after me already got theirs.

 

Technically my order hasn't been re-submitted yet so my EDD could be closer to 3/17 like some of the others...

might be time to go for the Blue-Ray burner

 

Umm... My order date is 2/11. I'm predicting it will be in my hands on 2/24 or 2/25. I really don't understand why you guys actually think it won't come until march. If you haven't got a free upgrade to next business day shipping by now, you're nubsauce.

I ordered my original R-2 on 1/25 and it was at my front door on friday 2/5.

Took 8 business days to build it, send it to the US from China and package it with accessories, ship it to me.

If it wasn't for the fact that this one freezes when I unplug it, I probably wouldn't have got the free upgrade to a 920XM

well i ordered 2/10 and my eta changed 3/10, and nothing is special about my setup except the 4870's. I hope it really comes in earlier than it says.

 

I was delayed. Now I'm thinking of canceling. Cause i don't want to wait 3 + weeks for them to get the part and another 2 weeks for them to build it.

Same here... same here... I feel like the kid who got left behind for the game and is now listening to it on the radio with everyone else getting their system. Especially annoying considering I ordered among the first week the M17x with i7 was available, Dell has not impressed me.

I'm betting now that if I had ordered an M11x it would have gotten here first.... that's REALLY pathetic.

Yeah I agree, I remember when I ordered mine the first week it was available, that I'd be one of the first kids on the block to have one, but alas looks like I'm one of the last ones to be picked for the team...again

 

I just got a cancellation email oh goody... Time to call dell and tell them to keep going forward to with it yay! still 2/26 edd

 

May as well wait for the 5870's now. I orginally ordered on Jan 14th (one of the first). Got cancelled. Reordered and now pushed back, back, back. I expect another push tomorrow, but I think I will just let my order lapse, then reorder in a few weeks when the 5870's are available... I've waited this long, so a few more weeks doesn't matter to me.

 

How can you be so certain that the 5870 will appear. For all we know it could take months.

 

Definitely this, my 4870s or whatever model number it is is gonna be 10000x improvement over my single NVIDIA 256mb GeForce 7900 Go, so I'm perfectly content with dual 4870s

 

OK now they are saying the 500 gig HDD's won't be in stock untill 2/22/10....

Do they really know whats going on? I don't think so....

Mine said 3-5 business days to be built then next business day shipping.

I don't even have an EDD yet cuz it still shows my other one as cancelled and not the new order I made last night.

Last week on the phone he said the screens would be in on 2/16/10 but today he didn't remember about the screens...

 

Same here - I just talked to my (non-American but speaks well enough) Rep and placed my 4th order (yay?)

I was able to get the 2nd adapter thrown in for free - score! that's $120 off!

After all is said and done my effective discount rate is 7.9% - not including the extra 1 year warranty since I deem it worthless

I just placed my order with a rep of similar characteristics and I'm at 3/18 for EDD, despite what he said about 3-5 business days. He said he put a note on my order to rush process and build with free NBD, too.

 

Doh! If you drive it to MA unopened I'll pay you cash for it

 

Cancel your order if it is really built they will send it to you the next day apparently
