When i looked earlier i noticed they yanked off the 1333 RAM as a choice.. Wonder if that has anything to do with it ... This was on the EPP site...

Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
i hope is the memory because my order has the 1066mhz. one
-
just checked with the people i ordered mine from and the eta is 2/2
-
Ordered mine two days ago. ETA is 2/19. It's already in production too so maybe I'll get it on time.
-
The 1333 mhz memory is still available on the EPP site. You just have to select an i720 and up.
-
On the regular site, if you pick at least the core i7 720QM you still get 1333 as an option...
-
Ha me and joker got it at the same time.
-
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
ok guys what orders been canceled the ones from epp. or dell. regular site or both ?
-
Ahh ok, when i was messing around earlier i dont think i had changed the default CPU option so i guess that was the reason.. -
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
we need to focus on this what orders has been canceled maybe on epp. because people is getting to much discount ? or they out of led. screens? every one ordering with that screen
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
It's back up, so that's probably not the problem. -
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
if i am not mistaken all the orders canceled was from epp. and they was made by phone when epp. still don't have it avaliable on the site
-
It was never taken down from what was mentioned a couple posts after mine... It does not show up if you pick the i5 but i had not touched the CPU options when i was messing around on the site.... So in the end it was never gone just something i overlooked
...
-
Just got off the phone with the rep. Guess which part?
The CD/DVD drive!
Which of course explains why our British friend had his order ship with his blu-ray player and why all the US orders haven't shipped yet. I now have a new order # and delivery date of 2/16. Sigh.... -
BTW, on my original order, the CD drive was listed as this:
313-8565 Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
On the new order, its listed like this:
313-8977 8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive,QuickSilver
So if you have the 313-8565 DVD drive, you might want to give your rep a call and make sure you don't end up like me.
-
Mine says this:
1 313-8977 8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive,QuickSilver -
thats an odd part to be out of, considering they don't offer blu-ray in the states so all we can order is the dvd drive, maybe they just weren't read for this many orders, i mean we got what 10 - 20 orders that we know of for sure, who knows how many other orders were put in, especially on the same day.
-
My first order says Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW) and that order was just canceled. My second order says 8X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive,QuickSilver and it's still in production.
-
Sounds like what I think happened to my Oct 09 M17x order that I canceled after 5 delays. When I went to reorder my rep said 1/2 of the part numbers didn't exist anymore when he went to copy it. I checked my order from last week and my drive has the 313-8977 PN so I think orders made when we all used that 5% extra off code should be Ok.
-
Haha..there's probably 1000's of orders for the M17x-R2. Dell serves a huge market.
-
What's your new ETA? -
The second order is still 2-15
-
Here's a full part number list of what I have, lets all compare:
-
Here's mine:
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
My says: 313-8977 Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW).
Right (new) P/N, wrong (old) description, but still In Production. EPP order on 1/22/10.
Edit: the description has been changed/updated on the EPP web page order description to the Quicksilver unit. That's cool. -
Great guess I'm going to get cancelled too then.
1 313-8565 Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
On the plus side I was flipping back and forth on waiting for the 5870, guess this was my sign to just wait.
Mine was showing an ETA of 2/9, what was your eta Turtle? Wondering how much longer it is going to take them to cancel it. -
Non slot loading drives ?
Humm -
Looks like our part numbers are identical with the second orders.
-
Here's my new order:
Also, my new order has a status of "Changed" right now. I guess thats because my rep just put in my new order, but shouldn't it be "In Production"? -
My order ETA was 2/1, so you probably wont' be hearing from them until 2/6 or so. Although my rep said she had a number of calls to make to other customers after mine, so who knows?
Edit: And I forgot to mention, I got a significant discount since they ended up canceling it. I explained I was quite upset and was thinking about just canceling the order altogether and getting a G73 and then when she called back her manager had authorized the discount for me. -
ah...my order was automatically re-entered. Did you guys check this?
-
Well i just got my replacement m17x today, so for ppl waiting for a brand new one, mine will be on ebay tonight. Will be worth a look.
How do i tell if its a r2? -
Yeah my first order was re-entered too but I had the dell rep cancel it for me.
-
Which processor does it have?
-
If its Intel i7 based, it's a new one. Otherwise it's not. -
Mine
ETA: 2/2, 2/5 -
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
if your screen is bright
-
Yeah I'm going to call them tomorrow. Now the more expensive but same spec system has a later ETA....that's not worth it to me.
-
ive ordered my m17x with the blu-ray burner, so hopefully my order wont be delayed as not many people are getting the blu-ray burners
EDIT: Oh by the way, has anyone reached boxing yet? -
If you ordered from the US using that 3rd party dealer, I wouldn't even count on having a real order status lol! Last I spoke with a rep, there was no blu ray offered for US customers, period. -
Someone mentioned on another thread that a dell rep told them, the blu-ray burners are reserved for the higher end systems. Also the guys i ordered from have a 100% positive ebay feedback record and are authorised recognised resellers of Dell
-
Do you really need to ask this now?
-
Well lets hope so. All our orders are high end yet we're not given that option on the consumer or EPP side. -
It's not an R2, its probably a core2quad or whatever. They turned replacement m17xr1s around brand new within like 1 week for the past 6 weeks..
-
Ah true, i'm a bit confsued as to why you guys aren't offered the blu-ray drive. I'll ask the company what the specs of my blu-ray drive are tomorrow to make sure they know their stuff.
i'll let you know how the blu-ray drive works out IF i get it lol. -
The R1 had the BD drive.
-
Yeh, but i'm getting the i7 processor so it must be an R2. i hope so atleast, or by the time i return it etc, the 5870s will probably be just coming out.
-
Actually I meant we know how the BD drive works because the R1 has it. This is my 3rd M17x.
-
Hopefully that guy from the UK will post some pics/vids and impressions. I'm curious about the screen..
-
ah hehe
List everyone M17x-R2 ETA
