List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

Ordered mine on the 1st of Feb. Still in Order Received stage. its because we lack the RGB part...It should be in on the 19th which is tommorrow.

 

I was told it was the hard drives was the delay.

 

Wow after reading some of these posts I actually feel sorry for you guys and gals. I thought it was tough enough waiting the 12 days from ordering to actually holding my m17x. I wish you all well and good luck with your orders.

 

Most of us are Pissed. But most are still hopeful.

 

Sadly enough hope even has its limits.

 

i am just trying to make the best out of this situation.
With each delay i am complaining to my rep and he already told me that he's working on a compensation.
Just need to make him send me what i want now.

 

I only got a 50 Dollar USB drive as compensation... -.-;

 

For the veery tiny chance that they will upgrade my processor to the 920xm i mentioned that i wouldn't mind but i also said that I am going to be happy with a razor mamba.

Waiting for an answer.

 

I didnt even ask for a massive upgrade. I asked for the Alienware TactX headset and they refused cause they give me a to big discount. :/

 

did you talk to customer service or a sales rep ?

 

I talked to my Sales Rep Manager about the Delay then i got a Email from my Rep saying Dell would give me 50 dollars Compensation But he said he'd try to get it higher. But then Dell rejected it saying i got a to bigger discount (10% is big?) So i got the USB drive. Now I'm not saying I'm not greatful. I'm happy they gave me compensation. Just sore that they wouldn't give me a little more.

 

Yup. We can't tunnel through a poop pipe of redemption on this one.

 

If I get an email or a call today then I am just canceling my order, sitting on the M15x that is letting me get by, then reordering once the dust clears on the M17x-5870 (as I have dubbed it)... or should we call it simply the M17x-R3

Dellienware keeps falling back on the fact these are build to order systems... while that is certainly the case, that isn't a license for unreasonable order fulfillment times, and I consider three weeks to be fair.

wow, that's a hell of a delay.
If mine gets pushed to march i def. will cancel and reorder with 5870.
Looks like they were not prepared to the volume of orders they received at all.
Bad business on their part

I was able to find my order number by going through the phone system and when I went online to look at it, it currently has 7 DAY shipping!

Needless to say I will get THAT changed

 

Sadly that is something i wish i could do but i cant. From a source on here which is the same rep i used. Australian Dell won't give Discounts to the "All powerful" series anymore. So im stuck up hells creek without a paddle or a decent comp. (The one Im on has 64Mb Mobo Graphics Memory lolololol)

 

Are you getting your updates via email or by phone? I never hear anything change on the phone, the online systems says in production with my 2nd delivery date of 2/19, and the last date I heard was 3/2 by my "escalation rep".

 

Not sure if I was one of the original four, but I heard this as well... at the same time they admitted all the orders were on hold.

 

Well ba humbug still no good news ?

Just got off the phone with yet another EPP REP he said the RGB LED and the 500 gig are on back order.....Thats funny because yesterday my original REP said they were no longer back ordered...go figure...They will have more info for me on 2/19/10 which is when the factory says it will be built.. LOL

I don't mind waiting a little longer than my original ship date, if they had a story that was consistent.

My initial order date was January 16th, and then was auto canceled by Dell on Feb 2nd, so place my re-order on the 2nd. I'm being cautiously optimistic...I'll believe it when I get a FedEx tracking number.

Jeez, that's much cheaper than the one I'm ordering right now and way better in the RAM department and a better processor, I got the 620M instead.

Anybody get the latest Alienware flyer in the mail (yeah they can send out plenty of junkmail, but not my laptop) where they are offering a free double memory upgrade with a purchase (so if you order 4 they automatically upgrade to 8 on all Alienware laptops)? Just curious if anyone has tried that angle when talking to the reps. I know I will if they decide to cancel my order again instead of sending it.

 

My rep is offering me a combo of any 2 TactX stuff for free as compensation...hmmm is it good enough? I'd get the mouse and headset if I accept..

 

you actually got a flyer that shows double memory upgrade ! ? I just ordered mine yesterday. If this is the case i'll be calling in to get my upgrade on the memory. Can you scan the flyer ?

 

I own the Tactx headset and the Keyboard. Headset just came last night so I haven't actually tried it out yet, just looked at the build quality. It's solid, but they didn't use the best materials. Has that kind of cheap feel to it. The nice thing though is the way it breaks down into three pieces... makes it easy to put it in your laptop bag and go. Definitely recommend it from that standpoint.

The mouse, from my understanding, is basically a rebranded Logitech. Reminds me of my old G9. Recommended as well!

Keyboard would be a tough recommendation. Feels cheap and not worth the $100 I paid for it. Doesn't even offer any USB ports. The color customization is nice though, as are the macro keys.

I think the headset and mouse are definitely the way to go, but they could probably offer you something better.

 

Hey guys, here's the picture of the add..sorry for the quality, just took a quick shot with my phone. There isn't any sort of coupon code, just states that on select laptops (m15x and m17x with the new I7 processor) receive a double memory upgrade for free (a $350 dollar value) in the description of the Alienware M17X and in the upper right hand corner of the add on the second page.
