Well, as if anyone really cares supposedly my order has finally finished building and is now being shipped out of the sweat shop, er factory, in Malaysia and is due to arrive sometime mid-week, possibly Tuesday. The 5870s would have been nice, but I am so frustrated with Dellienware that I just accepted it for now. Someone on eBay will be happy in a few months with a pair of slightly used Radeon HD4870's. Come to think of it, my own home machine can take Crossfire as it is a P55 mainboard.... hmmm!

My escalation rep graciously agreed to either a $50.00 credit to my account or a $75.00 "concession coupon". I did the financing on Dell Preferred Account which I intend on paying off rapidly once my the government returns the money it stole from me (tax "refund"). I would think the coupon is the way to go either way really, since I assume it just reduced the price. Am I missing something on what a concession coupon really is here? Why would I even consider taking one over the other

As Deltaone45 said, take the money : ) In short, the "Concession coupon" is a credit to your NEXT one-time purchase from Dellienware. As if.

have no clue about concession thing but one rule when in doubt take the cash!

 

Originally I ordered 01/20.... then I canceled because the RGB LED came out and the i7... my order got hung up due to the bad DVD part number DEbacLLe (and yes, the spelling is on purpose)

So I reordered on 02/02... the rest is history.

Only God and the factory knows.... I had gotten it finally escalated and theoretically "hot sheeted"... I still say this really only makes the difference of a few days myself...

 

I think all they did was feed you a lot hot sheet. Lol!

 

On that note my second order is due to ship out today, no sheet.

 

Is this a replacement then for the flickering? I was under the impression they would release a bios update to fix it... makes me wonder what BIOS I might get.... man I hope it's right...

 

No it's a second order. Has nothing to do with flickering. I don't have any flickering remember.

 

I am sure you posted why elsewhere, what's the reason for the 2nd order? Tell me you didn't get to beta a pair of 5870s... ; )

To revisit the revised BIOS, do the changes simply allow the 920XM to operate at stock clocks/multipliers (with or without the 5% BIOS kicker) or does it also provide additional headroom for further overclocking via E-Leet or otherwise?

 

mine was in the build stage even after it shipped on monday 2/15

 

I order 1/15 same thing as you on Fed 2 but i got my order on tuesday after i cancel my order on 2/12 and it shipped after i cancel it

 

you need to call them to get it it never updated for me after it was shipped

sorry to add more pain to all my fellow australian, but even when your laptop "DO MANAGE" to make it into australia you will be facing a uphill battle with DB shanker, the carrier.

Apprantly they have so many back order you be lucky to get your laptop delivered within 10 days after it hits our shores. I was lucky enough to be contacted by head office in which they offered to push Shanker to deliver my laptop.
So after shanker called and made appointment with me yesterday... no one actually showed up. Called shanker again today and guess what? they say they will deliver it on next wednesday the 24th.

very disappointed, just give me the address i will pick it up myself.

 

You should ask and see if you can. I'm giving them till 24th if i have no ETA I'm gonna either cancel my order. Or ask for more then 50 Dollars Compensation.

 

Hey That ASUS went up $100 at newegg from yesterday

 

Hey Delta, no coupon code from what I can see in the flyer (other then the 15% of approved accessories). So don't think there is one, just some special they are throwing, probably to compensate people in advance when they order today and are told that they can expect shipment in April

Hey joker, if dell hasn't released the bios they put on your laptop... does that mean they could still be making changes to it? testing it, fixing any bugs or issues they may have created inadvertently while trying to solve the flickering problem? Are you going to flash your bios with the one they put on the website when it comes out (because it may be newer than yours)?

 

yea if they don't show up again on wednesday its either give me a tactx mouse or headset or i go Asus g73Jh for 1 grand cheaper and get Dx11

 

When do those Asus laptops release?

The X2 is not out yet from what i see it has 2 500gig

 

this is ridiculous, i called customer service number and they said that they will push to rush my order and put it on the priority list. But the thing is, when i called last week, another rep told me the exact same thing. But one thing is confirmed it is the RGB screens and it will be 2/24. i'm just upset that i'm waiting 3 weeks and no one is telling me or updating me on the situation.

 

Believe me I feel your pain, my guess is I have spent probably 5 hours on the phone with Dell over this (at least)... that most annoying part is the conflicting information and the lack of it... I still don't believe my escalation rep even though he claims it is now in the first part of shipping.... the only thing I believe in now is the machine in my hands... because of this debacle I now have an M15x i7 to unload thanks to Dell... basically wiping out my EPP discount. But still, if you could just get a dependable answer it would take a lot of the annoyance factor out


If you bought it through Dell Financial raise heck with them to get it escalated. I don't think anything began to happen until I started asking for someone in management to speak to...

 

I feel your pain too, Australia is meant to get new stock of the RGB screen today and nothing is happening. If it comes down to it i might simply cancel.

 

I do believe that with the timing of CES that they have had good demand... I also think someone didn't do their job on either honoring their contracts on the RGB LED screens or (I hope not) some issue with producing them that led to problems... anything is possible.

 

Just finnished talking to Dell again, They say they wont get supply of RGB screens till next week. Im giving them till the 24th if nothing Im gonna complain...

 

My "sales rep" sent me a note today - still EDD of 3.23, but my ship date is 3.17 - right now they have me on 7 day delivery - which I've asked them 6 times now to change back to NBD like I was told it would be

If my unit actually ships on 3.17 it will have been 8 weeks from order to ship... pretty sad...
