List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

Im gonna give them hell if there RGB part isnt in by the 24th this would be week three that nothing has happened with my order and to be honest Im sick of it.

yes, it is mainly because of the RGB screens, and possibly the 4870s.

 

I would of canceled on week 4. I mean its a good laptop and all. But this is getting ridiculous

For those who know when they're getting it, did the ETA hold true the entire time? Ever get bumped up?

 

Apparently Australia. has RGB stock now. So hopefully i'll get a ETA soon.

 

Well, even though I haven't "officially" gotten it yet, my ETA has been bumped 3 times already...Feb 4th originally, then the 12th, and now the 19th. I'll be sure to let folks know if I actually receive it tomorrow, but as you can see I don't have much faith in the EDD that Dell provides.

 

I sent an email to the Australia and NZ Consumer Sales Manager, Debra Chew, hoping she might have some more definite/accurate information but she is out of office until Monday, 22nd of February >.<

 

i highly doubt that it will. because most sources say 2/22 is the restocking date, so they will be shipping them on that date most possibly. But lets hope for the best.

She'll be back on Monday. Dell isn't open on the weekend sadly.

America AW seems more nice on giving freebies all i got was a 50 dollar USB drive. :/ Cause they gave me a too bigger Discount. (Is 10% really that big?)

 

Mine is in boxing now. Original order date was 1/17, canceled and reordered on 2/1 and delayed until 2/26.

I just got my second Auto Cancel Email, EDD now march 25th man that blows.

 

Hey at least you guys are getting notified, I just checked and my order has been delayed...again...to 2/25/10 so yet another week...this is the 4th delay, and will put me into a 6 week wait time. Guess it's time to give them another call, as I've been assured now...3 times that my order would be delivered on or before the EDD and apparently been lied to 3 times now. I understand that delays and back orders occur, but the fact that no one is responding to e-mails/voice mails and that I'm being notified the day of my scheduled delivery that the item is being delayed is completely unacceptable. Sorry, I know I'm just preaching to the choir here...but their lack of professionalism is truly disheartening. Oh well, hopefully the 25th will be the real date. Will give them a call tomorrow to work out some compensation...ridiculous.

 

Hey Quail, right there with ya...1/16 original order date, 2/2 canceled and re-ordered, quoted delivery on the 19th and now delayed again until the 25th.

 

Ya I order on January 19, Shipping date was feb 5 then change to 8 then to 24 So it change 3 times. I tried the phone number and nothing changed.

 

When will this end?!

I haven't even been given a new proper ETA date. All I got was a rather sharp email saying I would have to wait another 4-6 weeks. My date still says 23-2-10

 

I really hope that since the m11x came out that AW doesn't forget about those with or have ordered the m15xs' and m17xs'. The reason I say this is that they will no doubt sell more m11xs' than the others just because of the price difference. And now that I think about it maybe its because of the m11x is why it seems like everyone else is getting delayed hmmmmmmmmmm!!
maybe they are telling you that its a parts shortage. but na it can't be the reason. lol

 

Hey I just checked the AW site and it says there is a 9 day delay on the led screens. and that was the highest delay posted. so if you are waiting for the blu-ray burner it is 2 days but it is not cumulative. there is also a delay on the 4870 5 days. so in short if you ordered those parts it should only be delayed for 9 days. hope this helps.

 

No - I didn't have the RGB in my order until my 4th

 

so all the 2/22 did get the letter right ? it's 2/24 now ?
I really hope that will be the end of it, i can wait till Monday, but i really don't want to see another "order delayed, action requred" letter in my inbox.

 

Noooo I got the dreaded delay email!

My original order was 1/22 but reordered 2/2 for rgb and mem upg. My EDD was actually today online, but my rep had told me 2/22. I'm still waiting to get an update from him. I emailed him 1 days ago expressing my dismay at the amount of time this is all taking. He was waiting to hear back from manufacturing.

Does anyone ever check for price drops? I would think after a couple of months component pricing would change.

 

Heh - just got my own Order Delayed Action is Required notice telling me my new ETA is 02/25, with a response necessary to meet FTC regulations. Naturally, I responded in the affirmative, but if it gets delayed again after being told it was now leaving Malaysia in boxing and is delayed AGAIN I will just flat out cancel.

This feels a lot like the Peanuts cartoons where Lucy promises to let Charlie kick the ball, and she pulls it away at the last moment *every* time... and each season he comes back again for it. If Charlie wasn't so kind he would have kicked Lucy's head by now...

 

I've had suspicions that the rollout of the M11x is playing a role here... as it is the margin machine for them, ie the coke (M11x) next to the fries (m15x) and burger (M17x). And as Joker indicated AW is going mainstream and the M11x is the real starting point, appealing to the ever-envious and style-conscious Gen-Y'ers sense of conspicuous consumption. Dellienware really wants a lot of these out their to pimp the name...

I know I've said it's not worth waiting for the 5870s but considering how late in the game we are now, it's honestly not worth going through with all these orders. You guys should just wait a few weeks now for CeBit and once the 5870s are announced, re-order.

 

but then the price would go up by a couple of hundred dollars... -.- can i possibly within my 21days say i want to return the laptop in an exchange for an M17xR2 with a single 5870 then? i'd pay for the difference and i'll get to keep my old R2 before it arrives? i have advance warranty as well. think it'd be possible?

 

That isn't possible and they will charge you a restocking fee of 15%. It's better to cancel and re-order when the 5870s are available. I canceled my second order just now. The sales rep had no idea when the missing part (she didn't even know which part) would come back in stock. I think at this point you guys are looking at a lag time all the way up to March so it would be smarter to cancel and just wait until then to re-order.

 

thats exactly what im doing. i just canceled my order the other day, because of the delays and such and figured i may as well wait until the 5870's become available in crossfire. then i'm going to re-order the M17x loaded to the hilt.

 

wait. if i just wanted to return my within 21 days R2, they won't give me a full refund?

 

They will charge you a 15% restocking fee unless you have a technical issue that can't be resolved. Also, once an order is in production you cannot cancel it but right now they have to make an exception due to the delays so I'd take advantage of it while you can.
