That's seriously f'd up

 

Yeah i know. Its moving into week four, no ETA, all i know is that Dell STILL has shortage. (Which is impossible due to someone in my Country getting his ETA due to him being delayed cause of the Screen, like me) So yeah, Kinda ticked off about it, so now i have to go talk to Dell chat and see if someone there can give me more compensation cause right now 50 dollars doesn't cut this ridiculous delay.

 

is there any way to find specific details regarding "in production" ?

I call the number that is apparently my rep's and it goes to an automated ENTER YOUR ORDER NUMBER HERE AND I'LL GIVE YOU A STATUS thing

 

I talked to the dell chat and got basiclly no where besides being told production should resume sometime this week. I asked for compensation and they said talk to the Kosik...So now i gotta go call my Kosik manager and ask for Compensation. -.- Getting the run around.

 

Thanks for the reminder Entity! Instead of manually dialing this number everyday, i programmed a macro into my phone to make checking a little easier BTW, what's your eta for that reorder?

 

That's awesome, I added it onto my phone as well but only as a contact. I reordered on 2/14 and my new eta is 3/17 , but I'm hoping it will come the first week of March

 

I almost hate to say this with a lot of folks still waiting, but I finally got a tracking number, the M17x is in Nashville, TN partying it up before being delivered (hopefully) tomorrow

 

Based on Dellienware's past history an announcement doesn't translate to fulfilled orders for at least a few weeks I would think, but every time we try guess Dell something different happens, so who knows...

Don't get your hopes too high... and i don't mean to be a wet blanket but twice on the day before my EDD i was told by customer service that my order in "on schedule"

and twice I received a cancellation email

I hope you guys get tracking number emails!!

I had my wife check out the R1 at BestBuy over the weekend - she agrees it's a slick looking machine.. so i didn't have to cancel my order

You and I have like identical setups, except I went with 640 RAID and only 3 year warranty

 

Also, I ordered 2/14 and I'm at 3/18, too

I can't imagine it will be that late, but then again, what do I know?

 

I have a replacement system (my current one has damage to the palm rest and magnesium cover from a tech working on it + cpu runs too hot) being built and the ETA according to the recording is 2/24.

 

Lol, Still waiting on my ETA, Talked to a Dell about the shortage, They said they still had a shortage not even answering why someone in our country got a ETA anyway, They said they should be able to start Production this week, but I'm having my doubts.

 

What kind of price did you get if you dont mind me asking ? Mine was Around $3,600 got it complete with tax and NBD for $2,989 something like that.

I got the 4 year complete care warranty just to be on the safe side. I should be able to watch a few dvd's and play GTA 4 and scared 2. Just hope it plays Devil May Cry 4 also.

Does anyone know what carrier Dell New Zealand would use? The free mouse they sent me arrived PBT Couriers but the laptop would be signature required with tracking I'd say (and I'd hope)

They refused to give me a discount Even after contacting the Sales Manager, she refused as well

 

I would of said. "Then i'll take my money elsewhere" THEN they may of given you a discount. I'm gonna go and call them and ask for compensation if nothing changes by Wednesday.

I don't have the EC file backed up yet and using a bios backup is a risky proposition.

Hey. Don't bother with sales reps or tech support. You should be calling customer care and make sure you escalate it so the assign a rep to take care of you. That's the way to go if you want any kind of progress.

On a side note, I have a feeling none of us is getting theirs on 2/24. Boxing stage is 3 days and since we are all in production today 24 seems too optimistic to be true. I seriously hope that I am wrong.

Do all you guys have NBD? If not they should have already shipped meaning dell should have already contacted you to say its delayed.

 

I don't, But some good news for me. I should be 'hopefully' getting my ETA tomorrow. Which is great. I got a email from my Rep, saying that i should get a ETA tomorrow or some news about progress due to it still being Chinese new year and cause of time differences.

Also you know you are getting 5400 drives because 640gb 7200rpm don't exist. Are you going to complain about it later?
Or maybe Dell scored a deal with one of the HDD manufacturers to get a unreleased product ? Interesting either way..

 

Ya I will complain. But I seen Alienware have hard drives before that where not Released to other companys untel a few months later. I think it was the 320gb hard drive before they where out. So we will see. I will pull one out and take a look.

 

Thing is, those drives weren't even announced yet. So that'll be a surprise
Anyway, i hope for all of us that on 24 we will be with a tracking number.

 

In the USA if the Ad is false you can sue them. I dont think it means if they put in the wrong cpu. Faster or slower. Which they will fix it. It more about what they say on there website. Raid 0 hard drive 620 gb 7200 rpm. That what they should give you. If they say 500gb at 7200 rpm that what you should get.

Yes I will look and post on this forum I have dual 620 gb hard drive at 7200 rpm. In raid config. If I dont I will point it out. I will go they lied.

But if they are right they are right.

 

My ETA just changed from 24th february to 9 march. Shouldve known, gonna make a call. I have a working one so their is no real problem. But still, gonna make them work for their money
