No, just refreshed the order status page and saw the new date.
No "order delayed, action required" email yet either...
I will ask the customer service rep that is handling my case to check what's this delay is all about but he wasn't so forthcoming with that info before so i wouldn't count on it.

What dell is doing is really messed up. If they would just be honest about these ETA times things wouldn't be such a mess. They obviously know what the demand is because of the orders that have been placed and they know whats in their inventory, so why is it they can't give us an accurate delivery date? I would rather have an honest and long production time than a short one that keeps getting bumped back

Well that's the thing. I highly doubt they are building computers without screens (or any other part for that matter), and letting them sit around for two weeks because that would take up a lot of space. I think in some cases they just change the status to production to give us a peace of mind. These computers can't take more than a couple hours to build.

Dell had made me behave like a little kid again.
I am almost 30 years old, married and otherwise normal guy (at least i'd like to think that :) ) but the past 2-3 weeks i've been behaving like a little kid waiting for santa to come and bring presents.. Only he never comes!
My wife says i am obsessed and she's laughing at me each time i hit that refresh button on the order status page or on this forum.

Problem is we are not even sure if it the Screen. When I ask what the old up was I was told the Hard drives. But that was a few weeks ago.

Haha, my parents thought I was retarded for spending this much on a laptop when I received my first r2. They thought I was getting ripped off because of the hat and stickers and fancy packaging that came with it. I didn't bother explaining the fact that it was tricked out and had xfire, that would be like explaining rocket science to 2 yr old.

Well i had a chat to Dell Chat and asked if it was a Screen. (At least for Australian's Im not sure if Dell US uses the same Factory.) and he said "Once we get the 'Parts' in we shall continue production" So maybe it might be more then one part. But Im not sure.

I was told yesterday 2/23 that no parts were on backorder for my system, but I have heard this before. I should be getting a call today sometime to confirm this. I will let you guys know and maybe this will bring some hope.

This thread does kill time but might make things worse at the same time

Enjoy your plastic overheating toy with it's missed keystrokes and big butt ;) I'd rather wait an eternity for a beautiful aluminum alloy system with RGB LED + Crossfire than a cheap overheating Asus.

Hey guys...sorry to hear about MORE delays...I unboxed mine yesterday and I did take pictures which I will try to upload a bit later...I know I know, I promised to do this last night...but I'm getting there...I PROMISE :) So I have to say that this thing is a beast, it looks amazing, the RGB LED screen as all have mentioned if fantastic. And overall I must say that it beats my expectations. My only real complaint, which I'm hoping Dell will do something about, is that it does NOT include the extra drive bracket and drive connector (at least mine didn't)...I've asked Dell to see if they might throw me one, but otherwise I'll be looking to buy it. Other then that, what can I say..it's worth the wait! I know some of you have been waiting as long (or in some cases longer then me), so all I can say is hang in there...getting plenty of rest, so when it arrives you can spend the whole night gaming :)

by the way, how are the performances of an SSD vs an raid 0 drive, because now i have an ssd and a 500gb as a secondary, but thought if raid 0 is fast enough i'd get another 500gb and put them in raid 0. because i'm doing autocad and photoshop and 3d renderings, so i know ssd will be better for that, but 128gb ssd is just too small. -.-

i see, so guess it was wise for the primary drive to be an ssd to act as a boot drive and store my project files, while the 500gb will be a media drive for games and useless program files.

With SSD's you want to limit the writes. So storing your games and stuff and things you want to load real quick, put on the SSD. Projects and other things where you might be saving/copying/downloading , put that on your 500gb drive.

I would even put your internet explorer cache on the 500gb HD. Less writes the better to the SSD. Let it just read like a crazy mofo :)
