List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

Actually mine I had originally shipped with Green on everything, but was just playing around with the colors and zones...it's amazing how many different items have separate color settings....

 

dude something is seriously wrong with your order i got an eta day of, i think that was the case for most. You need to just resubmit.

 

there might be some bank problems, make sure to call them to get it figured out because i don't know why else they wouldn't give you an eta.

 

Are you in Australia? Australia is back order of the screen and my Rep said my ETA wont come up till they get the Screens in stock. So yeah.

I've had about 5 people comfirm they have my Payment. So it can't be a Bank problem. I'll check my Order again.

 

odd, maybe you are so far back on the production list that they can't give you a good accurate eta till later. I have no clue, just throwing ideas out there.

 

I would hope not. I ordered it the day it came out. I would expect myself to be at least the 4th person to get it into build production. I'm on Dell chat waiting for someone to talk to me. Its taking so long though..I'm on the edge of canceling I'm not gonna wait an extra month for it (It seems it may take up to 2 months for them to get the damn part) Unless they give me a bit more compensation.

 

well if you are planning to wait for the 5870s to come out, you should reconsider. Some are saying its not even definite that it will be available, and you will probably be getting it, if available, in the end of May or later. But do try to call to ask for NBD and some freebies, like a extra $50-100 coupon of some sort, at least makes the wait worthwhile.

 

I tried that, all i got was a 50 Dollar USB drive. Due to the fact they gave me a too big of a discount. (10% is big?) So i might try and get more. If not i'll simply go to dell and say either give me more or i'll cancel. I won't sit around waiting for them. Problem is if i cancel and want to order when the 5870s are released i won't get a discount. They stopped the discounts now. So yeah i'll be stuck with paying an extra 300 - 400 dollars on it.

 

Man still no ETA. I am sorry to hear that. Maybe you should try to place a new order and see of you get an eta for it. If so just cancel the first ? I know it puts you in the end of the line but right now it doesn't look good.

 

Well the problem I have is if I dont get the system in 2 weeks I am going to have to cancel and wait 5 Months.

Last 2 systems
6 Months of troubleshooting and Repairs. Sent to Taxas about 12 times.
1 Month of refund as long as I buy another Dell or Alienware system due to Warrintee.
1 Month waiting for the Refresh.

ETA 3.2.2010

And then when you get yours and discover that those 640 gigs drives are 5400 and not 7200 you will need to start complaining again . That's sad.

 

If i don't get a ETA by tomorrow. I will call Dell. I don't care if there Excuse is still a back order on the Screen. This delay is Ridiculous.

I remember having the largest hard drive for a laptop 3 years ago. In 11/06/06 I had a 250gb 5,400 rpm hard drive. This was on a M5550 that the fan would not kick on unless you restart. At the time the Standard was 60gb and the largest that people could buy was 160gb. All other compansy like Clevo/Sugar Dell, HP other companys had 200gb.

I remember Posting on one of the forums on notebookreview about the hard drive and it took 6 or so months for Other companys to have a 250gb hard drive. By this time Alienware had 320gb hd.

So yes Alienware Like to Keep people on there toes and yes I will open to look.

 

I take it you play Lord of the Rings or Love the Books.

 

Ouch.. i actually got a mail from dell, saying that my shipment is being delayed to 3/8...
that's really is the most disappointing news in a whole year..
i wonder how accurate the date is. since they said "we feel confident that the system will be delivered on or before 3/8".
i guess i am going to wait till the next delayed date to rampage on dell..

There isn't anything in this reply to make you think they might not make the 3/8 EDD

 

My order, which was placed on Feb 4th, has now changed its automated response to March 4th. There goes the 15-21 day complete care warranty replacement SLA. BBB complaint on the way!

 

I ordered my M15x on February 4th and my rep informed me I've got until March 2nd to submit an RMA.

Which I can then hold onto it for another 10 days and hopefully get my M17x by then.

 

here i am on this forum to complain again about my EDD, ordered on 2/2, eta is 2/26 now after 2 delays, but it's 2/25 now and rep still hasn't given me a call about it being shipped nor did the web status change from in production. lets hope for the best. if still nothing after friday, i'm calling them on 27th so i can give em hell.

I just relized every delay email I have recieved has been on a Friday, well heres to hopeing I wont get another...

yep all mine have been on monday and i would always notice they would push my order back at midnight on friday

 

but to pass the time been playing dantes inferno and heavy rain on my ps3 both are pretty good games.

I know one person on this forum got a response from their customer care rep that the system was in the knitting stage...so maybe it takes longer to knit a computer case then it does a scarf...

The return policy is based on the day of delivery, I ran into this issue years ago when they were "backordered" on certain parts.

One other thing, to get their attention is to file a complaint to the BBB, they DO respond to that and its amazing the traction you get once one of the "executive customer care" folks call you...yes, they call you and then become your only point of contact moving forward.

Granted, this info is based on an experience 2yrs ago but looking at the "B" rating I suspect they do not want it to go south any further.

Well, today has come, and yet no ETA, so I'm gonna call them and blast them, this is pathetic.

 

Still in build stage The closer to friday it gets the more and more worried i become im so afraid there going to push it back again.

I placed an order on 2/14 and got an EDD of 3/17.

If I placed an order today, EDD would be 3/18.

Bummer!

I placed an order on 2/22 with an edd of 3/23. It got canceled and the reorder on 2/23 has an EDD of 3/17. Their system is wack.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a feeling though our lappys will arrive before the end of the first week of march, hope im right....
