I ordered on 2/9. My first EDD is 3/1. but on 2/24 i got an email bout the delay. I don't know if everyone getting the same message. but my email said "we are confident that we can send the system on or before 3/8".
i do really hope it's believable. I can't stand another delay...

Argh.. Im having a spring break w/o a decent rig to play game with..

 

I...give up. I just got off the phone with Dell and they told me the RGB Screen is Incompatiable with gaming? So they have no Idea when they will bring it out for the M17x? So I guess i'll just cancel and build my own Desktop. Bunch of bs.

Such a load of crap. Dell should be ashamed with the level of their reps. Screen not compatible with gaming ? What is it compatible with ?? Watching pr0n??

It wasn't my rep who said this. DELL said this. And I'm like "wait wot" So if shes telling the truth I'm stuck with a laptop that screen isn't compatible with games. A gaming laptop that can't play games. Epic.

yeah it plays games fantastically on mine...so far a little Dragon Age, some Crysis, just loaded up some Sacred 2..so not sure what she was talking about. On an interesting side node, my second HDD bracket arrived, and instead of 1 screw, then sent me 0 screws...guess they ran out

 

Did they include the interposer?

 

Now i just got off the phone from my Reps Manager. He said the Order has been received but i have to wait ANOTHER 2 to 3 weeks for the screen to arrive. -.-; Which means i may not even get my Laptop for like 2 months...Just lovely...

yep, got the interposer and the bracket, but no screws...luckily I had a few lying around so no biggie, I just think it's funny of all things not to include with the bracket, is the screws.

 

sp grey can you post some more picks specifically solid color keyboard i wanted to see white green and ice? if there is a color and you know what i mean lol?

My sales rep told me today that there are absolutely no parts delays for the M17x. Ha!

A "Team Blackhawk" member told me that my order is being held up by backorders on the graphics cards and the Intel Ultimate card.

Pretty impressive way to run a business, eh?


And another thing, if I hear that damn lollipop song one more time, someone is going down!!!

I will let you know how I go with them. I placed order on the 23rd and spoke to Seema (my rep) and I told her to expedite and put a priority on the machine as my old one has blown up and I need a replacement ASAP!

I did this last time with DELL and it came SUPER fast - so hopefully she will do the same thing for me this time.

P.S. I asked about any delays and she said no, usual delivery time is 2 weeks for Alienware systems, but we will see how we go.

 

Has anyone tried contacting dell Unresolved Issues about the delays? On dell's site it says that lead time is one of the issues to contact them. I didn't actually know what lead time is so I looked it up and it is the time from the placing of an order and receipt of the goods ordered. It seems like most people here who have a case number open would qualify.

So sad, i was hoping to get my Laptop before the end of Feb...Now i won't Im stuck waiting 2 months.

 

How does Sacred 2 play? Are you able to use the 3rd disk (the enhanced graphics disk) This was one of my main concerns when i ordered my m17x. Dam, about 4 weeks till i receive mine.

If it can handle that enhanced graphics disk then this beast will be able to last me for 5 or 6 years with the type of games i play.

 

Um, so...this is likely to make some of you happy, but undoubtedly some of you very unhappy. Dell's crazy system strike again!

Unfortunately I don't have the enhanced graphics disk (just the standard edition of sacred 2), so can't comment directly on that. I did however bump the graphics up as high as it could go and it ran super smooth. I only played a few minutes however (as I'm still in the process of loading things up), so will post more details when I get more of a chance to sit down and play it.

wow... You nearly have my exact specs, with the exception being that I couldn't order the bluray option... Oh yeah, because I ordered mine 10 days earlier!!! Congrats, I hope this means more will start to move! What time of day did it go into boxing? What color is your system?

The immediate rush of excitement has passed. This is still Dell afterall and even though my hope is that boxing lasts only 3 -4 days - we shall see.

The change on the order status could have been because I have been attacking this on three fronts. I had three different folks expedite my order.

It's sad though that none of the order processing seems to make any sense.

But, its damn cool when she says "boxing" instead of "build"!!!!

We should hear about the 5870's hopefully soon. If by that time you still haven't shipped, I'd think long and hard about canceling and reordering.

 

I had to call four times just to believe it!! Each time I typed my order number in I got slower and slower just to make sure I typed it right. A few days ago I mistyped my order number and when I heard "shipped," I did have a heart attack!! It was pretty harsh.

 

wow, you ordered on 2/14 and you are in boxing now? . i ordered on 2/2 and still no accurate ETA. and still in production.

Well, I called to complain and they had a supervisor call me back and even after purchasing 3 of these things this year they wouldn't help. She said that all alienware systems have at least 25 days lead time. Even if todays eta on their website is the same as mine purchased on the 14th. They say its a system error and they are trying to get these out as quick as possible. Good luck and let us know if you here anything different!

 

Its completely ridiculous!

If you collate what people are being told by sales reps, customer care reps, and other sources - there is absolutely no ryhme or reason to how these orders are rolling out.

Like I said, I had three fronts. My original sales rep., a member of "Team Blackhawk" on Facebook, and a Dell US Sales Support Consultant that can be found posting on the "Received your system?" thread on the Dell Community Forums.

 

Yeah, I'm stuck on Order received still. And i will be delayed Up to 8 + Weeks before i get my Laptop. So yeah I'm not impressed.

Nah - If I call them up and they tell me to wait 8 weeks I will get a refund. I will not wait 2 months.

2 months will make the technology dated for gods sake - people who buy premium laptops want latest technology, that's what they're paying for!

Let me know how you go with this if you can Ikuto and I will let you know how mine goes when I hear from my rep. It hasn't been 3 days yet (apparently you have to wait 3 days for an ETA). If it's not up by Monday I'm calling =)

P.S. I would hate to have me as a customer!
