List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

To be honest it shouldn't even take that long. Every time I've ordered from dell I instantly get an ETA, granted it may be wrong, but I've never had to wait several days, let alone wait over a month. That's just plain customer abuse.

 

My rep. called today to let me know the replacement is being held up due to a lack of parts. If this delay slips into the 5870m release, I'll be damn sure to demand an upgrade for such a massive waste of time.

 

Yea but they do state that when you order so I guess I will have to wait at least that long to get an ETA. Actually, I've always had to wait for ETA but i have never had a delay from dell, NEVER!

Please don't let this be a first!

Although I have missed a few pages (being in Australia I wake up to a myriad of new posts...).

 

I have my first one with a bios pre-released flashed on it. The tech that workd on it screwed up the palm rest + magnesium cover. Plus the heatsink is defective, it doesn't fully make contact with all of the CPU surface. Given the fact that I've had to deal with issue since I bought this AND let AW use my system as a guinea pig, I think the least they could do at this point is give me the exchange in an expedited manner WITH upgrades. I haven't asked for any yet but I probably will bring it up at some point.

 

Ok guys, here's my update via emails between me and my rep.

I need to hunt down the email i saw posted here and send it to his boss! I asked for a mouse or gift certificate and he shut me down with his comment. I can't wait till i get my weekly cancellation email tomorrow

 

ha. i'm in the same boat and same config as you exodus. i'm gonna complain tomorrow and saturday as well and possibly ask for freebies or coupons or cancel it.

 

I know. Thats the problem. In two months the Technology will be dead. And i'll have a out of date Laptop...Talk to your Rep and see what he/she says. I was told from my Reps Manager. about the Delay. (Its already been three weeks. And he said another three Not including Building and Delivery) It i wouldn't get it for ages...

 

they told me that there are no shortages at the manufacturing facility and that they are heavily back ordered, due to this they would not expedite my build...they're still telling you guys they are missing parts ? If your from teh US we're all just getting different stories.

 

I like how people on ebay sell new M17x-r2 with a delivery date within 15 days... But yet its taking almost 40 days so far to have mine built to order directly from dell. Maybe i should cancel my order and buy from ebay.

I should ask the seller how he/she avoids the delays and back orders.

 

I tried that Ferrari with a superviser. I ask what part are on Back order so I can order a system and have it in 3 weeks. There answer was I dont have a answer for that. Then he ask if I wanted to cancel the order. I was like your a superviser and you dont know what the Delays are.

When are the Mobile 5870's suppose to replace the Mobile 4870's in this beast?

 

People are saying sometime in March, but with they way dell's ordering system is working you may not get it until next winter

 

With the way Dells Back order system works i may not get mine till next year.

 

Sorry you guys are having such a horrid time with getting your laptops. Hang in there guys it's a great machine. You should be really happy with it once you finally get it.

I ordered on Feb 4th for gods sake.

I just realized my new EDD is April Fools day so needless to say im no too overly optomistic ont that date.

I"m from California but im in the Army In Iraq right now. I realy wanted this thing to help pass the time here but i find myself waiting for something that never seems to come.

 

Is that mean if I order next one or two weeks, I gona have to wait till end of April or even May to get on hand.

I order on the 1/19/2010 then loads of delays eta 3/2/2010.

 

I hope by the time you order Ceshimm the Supply demand slows down. But I am not sure. If you can keep your old system untel they replace it.

 

In Australia, we only have 15 days return policy since I got my M15x on 1st Feb (return was confirmed on 12th). I can not keep any longer and still wishing to see if they can offer 5870s in next two weeks.

 

How did you get a 16% discount? I returned my R1, waiting for them to credit me so I can order a R2. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

 

Returning your system on so called Facts not the best idea. You tend to land on your face.

When I return my system I had issues but I was between two techs. M17r1 and M17r2. By looking at M17r1 I seen issues that where not fix so waited. I did not want anything faster or anything stronger. I wanted something that work.

Do not Scam a company. But study it.

I never ask for a discount.

All I wanted is a system that work. Nothing more nothing less.

 

When you guys call the automated number and get your status does it actually say "your order is in the BUILD stage" ??

Mine says "your order is being processed" - and it has said that for 2 EFFing weeks!!!!!

'Order is being processed' when I've ran into is has always been an issue on the payment side of things... I'd recommend calling a rep ASAP just to make sure things on that side of things are Ok.

Else, you may be waiting for a very long time.

They've contacted me 3 times this week and never mentioned anything about it

Also - if this unit isn't actually in production i'm out... this is just the worst process for a $3200 laptop i've ever experienced...

but since my ORIGINAL order date was 1/17 i'd expect to be a little ahead of others... silly me...

maybe i'll just buy a second 5870 for my desktop and call it a day...

Ugh I got the order delayed: Action required email today, luckily for the first time. I called the number to make sure everything was going to continue. She put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back saying that even though she submitted the request to continue the order, I should reply to the email anyway. Whats the point of having people there if they just tell you to use email instead!?

option 3 : "It was received on feb, 1 and is currently being processed, the EDD is ...."
So i guess you're choosing number 3 right ?

Yes, option 3 says "processing"

4,2,11 says in build with an ETS of 3/17...

Yeah im doomed to APO snail mail, so much for supporting the troops lol oh well cant really complain here in Iraq anymore, not nearly as bad as parts of Ahfganhole not that Iraq is anything but a Ugly sandtrap with no life. How do these people live here.
