i'll probably lose. lol. but suree!

^^ That's not the right attitude bro (or sis, btw, wanted to ask, who's on the picture ? )
Right now the chances of all of us are more or less the same as i figure it -
maybe we will get it next week...yes next week.........
-
is it only in the Uk or everywhere else, all the R2 orders with led are being delayed :S
-
everywere but i also think they keep running out of gpu's
-
It's everywhere. There are ppl waiting for more than six weeks for it.
-
with the economy the way it is , you would think dell would be taking this more seriously.
-
i mean the economy cant be that bad if they're COMPLETELY back ordered on a 3k+ custom built gaming laptop ... can it ?
-
maybe, but its bad buisness when they strait up lie to their customers and make them wait 40+ days in delays without explaination.
Maybe i should take my 3k somewhere else. Its their loss. -
But the sager will melt!!
-
Hey guys, I know everyone keeps saying this, but seriously the wait will be worth it in the end. Although I agree, that the way Dell is handling the situation is very poor to say the least.
-
Just filed a BBB complaint.
-
Yes!! I'm not the only one!
-
same, i filed a BBB complaint on friday and also on dell unresolved issues page. nothing happening so far.
-
What if they just cancel your orders and refuse to do anything else? The BBB thing may backfire on ya. If you were awaiting a system exchange like me then it would mean something but not if you are simply waiting on an order.
-
i'm sure i'll be there - they just pushed me out to the edge so i have to wait 3 more weeks to join your EDD games
-
they can't refuse to sell you a product that is generally available to the public - that would backfire on Dell faster than I can type this sentence..
-
Ya i have been simply waiting 41 days for mine, delayed numerouse times and have been lied to by costumer service constanly. I guess it doesnt mean anything.
-
Comes Tuesday I will join you. There is no way they will cancel the orders. It's counterproductive for them. Will just cause more noise for them.
-
Nothing will backfire on Dell. You haven't been charged for the product therefore you have nothing on them legally. If the BBB complaint is received by them, they can simply cancel your orders and then you are free to order again and get back in line. If Dell feels generous, they can compensate those of you that have been waiting a long time but I really doubt they will go far with compensation. It's a supply issue and they simply can't fill the orders on time. Maybe they should just stop selling the product on their website until they have inventory but they could always argue their process of manufacturing works on a real time inventory basis for the lowest price available. That's why I said that filing a BBB complaint probably won't do much good but hey go ahead, if it yields something positive I'll be happy for you guys. -
Given my order status is still "In Production" and people have mentioned a boxing stage I don't hold out much hope for my current EDD.
I wanted a gaming laptop to use while I'm in LA. If they delay it much longer there won't be much point. Seeing the odd order get filled gives me some hope that this isn't pointless though. -
We have the same Edd for now. And I am not hoping to see it shipped. Pretty sure I will get another email on the second or third of march. Then, first thing I do is email my rep to let him know my next action is BBB complaint. I want to see his reaction and if nothing positive will come out of him BBB it is.
-
Just thought folks here may find this interesting/amusing:
http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/direct2dell/archive/2009/12/17/dell-and-order-delays-before-the-holidays.aspx
Seems it's far from just the Alienware machines they have huge delays on. -
Giving inaccurate information or plain lying to customers might be a reason for a BBB complaint.. I'm gonna do a little research before I take action.
I feel like I have been kicked in the ***** by dell. -
maybe there is a lawyer among us that could shed some light regarding the BBB thingy. I saw that some users were successful in the past getting what they want with BBB but still, could be interesting to hear someone that actually knows the laws.
-
BBB is not a legal entity therefore it can't do anything to Dell. Think of BBB as the same as resellerratings.com.
-
Hey joker. I know bbb is not a legal entity and legally it can not do anything to Dell. But, it is a measure by which companies are evaluated and Dell would not want their name stained. Bbb is a resource that some people consider before doing business with them and it's bad PR to have a lot of complaints there. What I meant when I asked about a lawyer is to see a legal opinion of whether or not Dell are misleading it's customers by delaying orders so much. Big companies have to answer for their actions as well as us the customers. This is not pocket money we are talking about here, and since we are ready to pay we should expect a product in a timely manner. An isolated case of delay is acceptable- nobody is perfect but we see a pattern of delays, miscommunication and plain lying on dells part and I think that ppl here tried all possible ways to get dells attention. So this is kind of a last resort thing.
Hope I am making sense. -
mfractal I completely agree with you. After all Dell doesn't want to look bad in the eyes of the consumer, especially considering that the BBB is a respected and well established organization.
-
I understand too. In Australia we don't even have "May cause delays during production" Or whatever it says on where you order it. anyway. I wont be getting a ETA for atleast another three weeks. So I might be going to ask for more compensation. If my Rep says no i'll just go to Dell and blast them for there pathetic Delays. brbgoingintohiberation.
-
You are a very, very patient person. I would of cancelled long ago man
-
Haha, Trust me, I'm not patient, even more so with things like this. 2 weeks was bad enough but 8? Seriously. If i have to wait I want a decent Upgrade. If i don't get any THEN i will cancel. It isn't my fault they had to Back order the damn Screen. They should of warned people.
-
Ask for a 920XM CPU!
-
They wouldn't even give me a 90 dollar object. The last compensation i got was 50 dollars for a 8GB USB drive. Which was stupid. I wanted more. So Now I will go and ask. I'll probably talk to my Reps Manager and see what Upgrade i can get. I have my money set saying i won't get my laptop till they the 5870s are released if thats the case i'll be mad.
-
Problem with part upgrades is that they have to replace the order which brings you to the end of the line again.
-
Thats easy to fix. Tell them to Expedite your order.
-
A significant upgrade + order expedited isn't too much to ask for an 8 week+ delay IMO
-
Yeah cuz we haven't asked for that been told it has been and were still on our 5th or 6th week.
-
I know. Thats what i will try to get tomorrow. If my Rep manager Refuses I'll just call Dell and ask them. IF they refuse I'll put in a Complaint and cancel. The best Excuse last time was "You got a too high discount" and I'm like "When was 10% a big discount?"
-
my m17x r-2 came with a bunch of problems (touchpad button smashed in, i complained about the computer freezing when unplugged, a lot of BSOD errors, and it came with the wrong hard drive than what i ordered). they offered to do a system exchange when i asked to cancel my order for a refund. I said I wanted a processor upgrade or else im canceling. since i had the 820, the only upgrade would be 920. they took 3 days to speak with upper management for approval and i got it.
unfortunately, the system exchange was ordered on feb 8 and the ETA is mar 15th. its kinda hard to complain now that they gave me a 600 dollar upgrade for free, ya know? -
Yeah, they are just trying to avoid compensating you further. Keep hounding them and hopefully they'll give in! Good luck!
-
^^ that! Expedite shmexpedite. They don't do sh*t when they tell you your order is expedited. It's another way of Dell saying "dude get off the phone we have more customers to bullsh*t"
-
Wow yeah, that is quite a nice upgrade! Dell should have policies in place where they ask YOU if you want an upgrade when you receive a defective system or suffer massive delays instead of you having to beg them for one.
-
Yeah. The Problem is the 920XM in Australia is a 1500 dollar upgrade. I'm not sure if they will give me it. But I'll try i doubt Dell buys them for that price...
IMHO that would make me happy. 920XM + Expedited to the front due to massive delays. I'll probably ask my Reps Manager. If he refuses i will ask for the Upper Managers number. and I'll go hound him. Either that or cancel+Complaint. -
i can understand the frustration for some of you that NEED the computer for work etc, but some of the rage seems excessive. I mean most of us probably got this for gaming and we knew were gonna have to wait for it(ill grant not this long) but it is what it is. If you dont want to wait for it just cancel the order. I know most of us wouldnt do that though because we WANT this specific computer. I know the wait sucks but truth be told im willing to wait till May for it(although i may cancel and re-order with bumped up specs). When i finally get it I will be very pleased
-
I was talking to Debra Chew, who calls herself the 'Australia and New Zealand Consumer Sales Manager (according to her signature)' but I don't know if she is higher up than anyone you have spoken to, but I suppose you could try her.
-
Yea thats sort of what a "Team BlackHawk" member told me. But not in those words
-
Anyway, good night yall. See you tomorrow for another group therapy session.
-
ya, i actuallty got my expedite request declined lol. Who here can claim that !?
-
Hmmm Interesting. I might try and chat with her. See what she says. The highest person I've talked to is my Reps Manager at this moment. I'll talk to him again and if it fails I'll talk to her.
-
PM me if you want her email address, but it follows the normal dell email address system so yeah
List everyone M17x-R2 ETA
