This is such an emotional roller coaster. I talked to a rep in the middle of last week. She assured me that no parts were delayed and that I would get my system on or before 3/8. I explained to her that I didn't believe her because it seems like the boxing stage takes 3-5 days. She basically scoffed at me, assuring me that boxing does not take much time at all. What a load of crap.

I know that I am just feet away from the finish line, but I am still pissed at their lack of knowledge and any step of this process.

 

Wow that's total BS, my order was submitted a week before yours our parts are similar my EDD was a week before yours and mine hasn't even shipped yet, WTH??

I know it sux m8 but you can never assume that they would stress the FIFO(first in - first out) approach at all costs. Besides, I phoned my rep a lot, though don't think it helped much...

 

I also called my rep a lot, obviously didn't do me any good. It's BS nonetheless, whats the point of even giving EDD's if they're not going to be honored appropriately, this has left a really bad taste in my mouth to hear yours has shipped, it's absolutely disgusting.

 

All depends on your production line. Maybe his had people cancel out, or certain orders were delayed cause of parts, so he was able to move up. I agree, you can't expect them to do FIFO all the time.

 

man the whole situation sucks but lets not get out of hand about it. akimo is just lucky

 

Sorry m8. On a side note when I wrote a very unpleasant letter to the CEO office and they phoned me back VERY fast, the rep promised me an R2 in 10 days. That was his commitment. Now it's already more like 20. So you're right, it's dishonoring.

since its shipped that means you get it right? maybe it will be canceled so you don't have to pay and you still get it

I just went digging through my spam box to see if I missed any of their emails..

 

Oh I guess I should be happy now, I called customer service this time, and the rep said he actually had a tracking number for my shipment, so I looked it up, and it's already en route to me, now I am happy. I just wish Dell would fix errors on their website, as in my account it still says "in production" with a temporarily unavailable EDD date.

 

Ordered 2/20, estimated delivery was 3/17. Shipped today, will be here day after tomorrow.

Hot damn. Almost exactly what I ordered on the 23rd (after they canceled my 22nd one). Still in the build stage though.

Edit: Er, I have the RGB and crossfire. Maybe thats what allowed you to get yours so quick.

My replacement still hasn't shipped. I posted earlier that my rep. said it was ready to ship out but apparently the factory was wrong and there's still a hold up. I got a call from his supervisor today informing me that they again sent a request to the factory to expedite it and that she'd call me back tomorrow to confirm. I inquired about the 5870s and she had no information about them. I asked to get upgraded to them should they be released early but she wasn't able to do it since it would require canceling my system. Oh well, as long as they can get me my exchange I'll be happy. I did manage to score a nice discount in the process.

My laptop is in Customs going though that. I never knew it took more then three days to do. It should of been cleared two days ago -.-

 

I went into boxing very early on Friday and I'm still not in shipping as of now. I guess weekends do not count.

 

Weekends count for me. I was shipped on Saturday and got into Customs the same day. Its the nineth now and nothing has changed.

Does that mean the new price was actually cheaper at least? I specced the same system as mine the other day and it was USD$300 cheaper.

 

Dont forget tax is over $300. I priced out mine and its the same price (before tax).

 

after the screaming and yelling was all done i got it cheaper around 1850 with the same specs i have to wait till 4-5 so after its all said in done i will have put in a solid 2 months like a few other unfourtunates due to dells crappy notify team. I got the free mamba and the extra discount being as i had the proof they had acknowledged my reply to the email cancilation notification. Lesson to take away from this is if you know the regular time they send that god forsaken email reply to it the minute it drops dont hesitate they emailed me at 222am this morning i replyed at 630am and got the confirmation they had recieved it at 1145 around that same time i confirmed it with the automated phone call at 1330 my order was cancled YAY!!!

 

well as one of the "unfortunates" to have been waiting almost 2 months, this is the auto response i get when i tried to email my rep:

"Thank you for choosing the DELL Employee Purchase Program. Effective immediately I will no longer be able to respond to customer emails in regards to EPP orders already placed or requests of quotes for payroll deduction."
