i didn't get any thing for wait 6 weeks, but it is shipped, going to get it on monday by 4:30pm. can i still ask for compensation now? i want at least a mamba mouse.

I have a feeling mine will be like this, too, it is supposed to ship in 4 days and it's still in boxing!

 

My contact emailed me they found my original system and are directing it to there shipping facility on monday then there going to overnight it to me so tuesdays looking pretty sweet

 

but they ignored all my request for a mamba mouse and said that they were going to give me something for this wait after my order is shipped. I don't care. i want a mamba mouse after seeing how cool it was, i was gonna ask for another 4870 but that might be a little too much.

 

Just got an email to say mine has shipped. I've even got a Fedex tracking number. So hopefully I'll have it Monday. Oh the pure joy of it!

After weeks of wondering and obsessing over the Dell Order Status site my status has finally changed!! I wish they'd have just come clean and said there were delays instead of trying to palm me off for a month saying the order was underway and "expedited"... At least finding this forum I know I'm not the only one suffering.

no there not. I did call Alienware about that. I just notice I only have one CD the Resource DVD. I am going to have to call them about that tomarrow.

You still can. Just download a rtm version of the windows release that you have purchased from Dell. It has to be an own release, your key will not work with retail.

6 days till mine comes in but the site still says In Production. Is this normal? I am starting to get scared of a delay, on the bright side if I get delayed, I will try to get a few free things, I will keep calling every day to I get atleast a backback or mouse, Better if i can get a 2nd hard drive

 

I'm starting to get worried about delay too and I supposedly have 5 days until delivery I'm thinking if there is a delay, hopefully I can weasel a mamba out of it too Doubt it though, not as smooth as some on here

 

Well, EDD is 19th for me, so if I'm not in boxing by the 15th I'm going to worry.

 

Just took a cancelation for me but mfractel got one pretty easy well besides the delays

 

If I don't see anything happening by Monday, I'll finally make a call to dell and find out if I've been canceled too

 

It seems like people will get at least a cancellation or delay and the really lucky one's get both My brother bought Alienware, not dell owned, like 7yrs ago and he didn't have all these problems. In fact, I bought Alienware b/c he always talked about what a great purchase it was. Dell should really get their act together!

I'm finally in boxing. My Estimated Ship is 3/15 so I should have it on 3/16... unless there's more delay.

 

Shipping is suppose to be 3/16, have NBD so my EDD is 3/17, crossing fingers!!!

 

Wow!! dell finally begin to ship our system!! i see lots of people are half-way through seeing a 'beast' send to their house. LOL.
i hope dell keep up with this pace so that no more desperately-waiting-customer. It will stain 'alienware' name.

I order my system on 3/11/2010, however, it still show my order status as "order processing". It's this normal? Usually how long an order should be in "order processing" stage? Please advice. Thanks.

no problem! Just hang in there. It's a long wait. Hopefully mine will be over next week with no other issues like wrong components or something. Unless they put in an i7820 instead of a 720. That would be nice but they rarely do mistakes that are beneficial to the customer.

5 days away and site still shows in production. Getting scared of a delay so I called the 1800 number and checked status it says still being processed. Now I am really worried.

I wonder which one is right? dam 12:00am saturday night so no one at dell to at. I can not wait another 4 weeks and will not wait.

 

The site still says in production for me but the 1800 number tells me that it's in the boxing stage(which is under production). I'm going with the more optimistic outlook and hope for the best

Have you called the 1800 before or is this your first time calling the number?? If you have called before and it was in production and now you call and it's processing, that's weird.

In my case, the info on the website and the 1800 always matched, said in production, until today. If my status hadn't changed by Monday, I was planning on calling my rep to investigate

 

make sure you are hitting the correct extention (its 4) when you first call. hitting 3 still tells me in production but hitting 4 tells me i am in build stage.

Btw, if you WILL NOT wait 4 weeks, what the hell are you going to do if 4 weeks comes and you don't have it"? Cause 4 weeks + is pretty standard right now, might as well cancel now and buy something else.

 

Right - when you call use options, 4 - 2 - 1 - 1

Then listen to that ***** tell you you're "in production and currently in the build stage"

FYI the new SSD I dropped in my desktop screams, averaging over 200MB/s Read and Write so far, for comparison the SATA drive in there was about 80MB/s

was near 250MB/s Read before i copied my image to it... I'm going to assume the SSD in the AW isn't this fast

 

What sdd did you throw in it. also i read somewhere it isnt good to img your ssd better to fresh reinstal windows
because it slows the ssd read speads

I called Dell this AM to see if I still had an order (after last week's yell-fest) - still says ETS of 3.17 and EDD of 3.19....

not expecting either to happen
