They've been doing that. Seriously, it's just common sense! Who the hell installs the OS on their harddrives instead of the solid states!!

 

I really hope so but I doubt it. From what I've read and noticed from the time my M15x hit boxing, it takes about 2-3 days before it ships. Just happy to actually hit boxing I thought for sure I'd run into a delay.

 

I am anxious to see what stage I am in, as of like 10 hours ago I was still in build :/

If 3/18 comes and I don't have a tracking number I will complain and receive compensation

 

@koyote, you are most probably going to receive a action required letter tomorrow since your eta is tomorrow and you're still in boxing. So make sure you CALL them and confirm that they can keep working (see delta's story...)

 

Just got off the phone with them. Unit in boxing stage and will arrive on the 19th Friday.

so they sent me the laptop in a empty box wrapped in some kind of padded paper... it jumbled around in the box and everything. and thats it just the laptop no bookelt not AC adapter!!!

You must have pissed someone off. Or the person who boxed your system must have been fired and had one good last hurrah with your system before he left and did it on purpose. That is just.....bad.

Definitely say you want to return it and expect upgrades in return. What they have put you through is unbelievable. I would also write to Dell headquarters and Mr. Dell himself.

so i did the os install on the ssd drive, but it says that the os nt found on boot menu, does that mean i have to change the ssd to the primary drive slot? because i believe it is still in the hdd01 place and not the hdd0 slot. -.-
edit, under the setup, the ssd is in the sata hd 2 slot while the 500gb is in hard drive 1 slot. but i set the boot menu so that the ssd is first. how come it still says no os found?

so i sent both reps emails with pictures attached called them both 5 times answering machine everytime. updated the BBB complaint. I was going to give Dell props on this whole situation had the laptop arrived in good condition but even if they do get everything straitend out and upgrade the laptop. Im going to destroy them.

everything works on it i believe and all the components are in there and its still in good condition no scratches or anything. But i still need all the perifials and that microfiber bag maybe im developing stockholms

 

Goes to show what happens when you complain enough to get it taken out of the product cycle. Dells standard isn't to "search" for the laptop that was canceled and find a way to get it to someone. Obviously it didn't go finish the boxing stage. All this crap would have been solved if the retards didn't auto-cancel his order.

This should serve as a lesson to all of us who want it before it's finished its whole production cycle. Hopefully they can get this resolved. A freaking laptop with no AC adapater? Obviously the tech that was called by the head honchos following deltas case didn't understand the predicament.

firstly i already have a replacement order on order i placed on the 8th how bout speeding that up or better yet send me all the packaging so i can at least see if the system was harmed internally lastly i demand someones job.

 

If I were you, I would have them send all the packaging and let you have that laptop. You have 21 days to return it. If you turn it on and things are jacked, or it appears refurbished or something, then I would just send it back for a refund and get 5870's when they come out.

But I am not sure I would send it back and wait for a new one to be built :| But thats my impatience speaking lol

 

Yeah. Just have them send you the charger and use it while your UPGRADED replacement is being built. Then just return it.
You have an excellent opportunity now to get a frakking decent upgrade for this mess - I'd demand a 920xm and the mamba as a compensation, mamba alone is not going to cut it now ...

Hey Delta, that's completely unacceptable. Who in their right minds wraps an expensive laptop on a shipping sleeve and puts it in a box. Are they serious?? And not to include it in the box, and the presentation..it's like buying a Ferrari and then going down to a junkyard to pick it up..sure it still looks nice, but who knows whats happened to it. Just ridiculous, Dell has completely hit an all-time low with this one. Given this situation they should just give you one for free...pathetic. On a positive note, glad you got to see what it looks like in person

I don't have an ETA anymore and the web link doesn't work either. I called my contact and he told me my system is still in pre-production waiting for new ATi cards to arrive. Apparently, it'll take 15-16 days for new ATi cards to arrive in the factory.
He also noted off the record that there is a chance that they won't get the 4870 cards form ATi anymore and warned me that the order might get canceled if that occurs and in such a case he'd call me and we'd re-place the order with "the new ATi video card model" that is slated to become available soon. He mentioned that it it's likely to be a new revision of the system, however, but there is nothing definite yet. Not sure how credible that information is, so take it with a grain of salt. Might be just a load of BS.
Either way it will take a while for my system to arrive as M17x are currently in extremely high demand and the average waiting time is 2 months right now.

Oh well. I just hope the dreaded thing will arrive really soon, as I'll need it for work next month...but it doesn't look very good.

I was going to say, that's a dell outlet box! I guess they send new units that never finished processing straight to dell outlet. The fact that they didn't even bother including the peripherals with yours is a bit odd. You should send it back and demand another system. If I were in your place, I'd cancel it at this point and get the 5870 version coming in a few weeks.

 

i deploy soon so i really dont want to wait for the 5870's plus the price i have for this right now is just too good of a bargain troubles aside

Delta- That is incredible. I'm sorry to see that kind of "care" given to something that is worth so much money. I've recieved a system from the outlet before and it was packed much much more secure than that.

I am still in build stage as of right now. Glad to hear that some of you are getting into boxing stage. grr at Dell.
