    It like a theam Park mfractal. There are days where it so slow it like why the hell it open and other days it so crazy your looking at the people going you will only hit 1 to 6 rides before you leave.

    Joker are you saying that from the heat it produces? Just curious why I have seen you post this remark a few times.. Seems like you arent happy with that processor..

    he mentioned that the cpu produces more heat, and drains more power bringing the machine very close to it's power limit (after which it starts flickering).
    So having a 820qm would allow more breathing room to o/c the video cards powerwise.
    Also there's not much gain from 920xm from processing power point of view unless you benchmark (and even that is questionable since you can't o/c the video too much with it) and it's 600 bucks extra.
    did i sum it up right joker ?

    I was just curious.. I have that coming in my new system. If I dont plan on OCing the video cards, I should be ok right? Obviously outside of the extra heat since the power pull is more on that processor.

    Best part is I didnt have to pay extra for it.. It was given to me so I didnt want to pass it up.
    R1 had the q9000 installed in it from dell..

    I know I should not be surprised. But I truly am, I just got my delay email form you-know-who and my new EDD is 4/21. WHAT? A month! What level of incompetence puts an order off for a month? I have to cool down before I call them or I'll just babble incoherently.

    Start by calling customer care, and have them assign a rep to your case, and make your case. You will a. have him expedite your order and b.give you free stuff. i guess i am just advising you on making the best out of your situation.

    Did anyone every get their 2nd HDD caddy & interposer for FREE?

    I am trying to get a 2nd one for my m17x-r2 and they want me to spend $90 on the kit or spend money on another HDD which I dont need. What a bloody joke!

    Don't pay for it. Look at your parts list and it should have something that says a 2nd HDD case or close to that. It should have come with the R2 but most didn't get it. I called Alienware Tech Support (number on the Alienware web site) and the guy didn't even ask any questions. He agreed I should have got it and sent it to me FedEx overnight that day for free.

    Thanks for the advice. I placed my order over the phone and received a nice follow up email from the rep, so I suppose I know where to begin. At this point I'm serious questioning the value of the transaction. The DX 11 5870 cards are looming large now. The RGB screen had decreased in price since I ordered, and now If they were to upgrade my proc or HDD to SSD or perhaps throw in a monitor, I'd be willing to wait another 4 weeks..

    Do a hard reset: Take out the battery, press the power button for about 30 seconds, put the battery back in and restart. It should recognize it. It's a bios flaw and will probably happen again. Sometimes you can just plug it in a few times and it goes away. Hopefully Dell is aware of this and resolves it in a future bios update.

    I emailed Dell order support, they told be to contact technical support, who told me to contact Alienware support. After a long slow phone call I got one. He did try to sell me a drive, and an upgrade to my warranty, but he didn't suggest charging me for the kit. Lucky for him. :)

    This is gonna sound dumb but I put my old dell laptop's AC Adapter instead of the new Alienware one in, so it didn't support it, ROFL

    it's all good now

    Got mine too!! The new rgb screen really is SOOO bright and vivid! Hey, does anyone else with an R2 and ssd know if the alien head lights bink on the power switch like they did on the R1?
