Modern Warfare 2 looks awesome - but the Red is actually TOO red!!

I have a series of Ducati photos for my background and the reds are beyond what a ducati red looks like

but the detail is incredible!

also had to call to order a 2nd HDD bracket - got it for free

Oh, I was missing the 2nd hard drive kit and called Dell and they are sending it out overnight for me at no charge....fyi

I noticed you and I had the same order date
Based on an earlier post from mfractal, I called this afternoon ready to chew some heads off. My rep was not available but another rep checked into it for me. After a while on hold he came back and stated my order has completed building and was awaiting transportation to the US for boxing. He was not able to offer any sort of explanation as to why I had received my delay notice with an EDD of 4/21. He stated Dell has them over-nighted via jet to one of their boxing facilities and that I should be in boxing by Tuesday. I figure three days in boxing and I could theoretically have my beauty by April one or two. I'm not going to hold my breath. I just checked the website again... I'm still "in production" with an EDD of 4/21...

 

Boxing is one of the "In production" stages.

Why doesn't Alienware change the build to include this bracket!!!

It's actually listed on the invoice. Of course, they seem to have problems RAIDing and getting the proper 1st/2nd hard drive configurations too.

I guess it could be worse.

 

I don't think I have this problem, how would I know if I'm missing a bracket?

Great advice. I wish I'd known to disregard the website before.. I have called the # in the past but the info had always correlated with the web, so I stopped doing both.

I called the # and I'm Boxing. Feeling better now.

the funny part was when i called i said "i was told it was included"

The guy on the phone said ok, but then tried for 10 minutes to sell me anything he could, SSDs, external drives, 3d monitors

I said, no i'm ok, just want my FREE bracket...



i already have my 2nd SSD...

if anyone cares, the AW 128GB SSD is pretty fast and scored over 200MB/s READ and over 150MB/s WRITE with ATTO

 

Would just like to say that I recieved my "beast"..!

Awesome! IMO the R2 is so much better than the R1 - Seems like a much more stable system (although my original was tampered with millions of times by techs so it may be in my head).

Now to go and play around with it! =)

Meh, wish I had an EDD, has said data temporarily unavailable for awhile now and everyone at dell says no delay.

 

Haha yeah its pretty crazy, this notebook got a trip around the country. It's not too far from where I live now so I should definitely have it by Monday morning.

 

How long has it taken you guys to get tracking and invoice info after you get the tracking number?

 

About an hour for me.

 

Ya I had a issue with Fedex. Where the paper work was on the box there was a Knuckle sandwhich. You can tell there 3 inch dent That damage both boxes. And my system ran good untel I got a blue screen of death. Track down to faulty hard drive. Switch to Dual 640gb hd and found one hard drive was Faulty. So next week I should have a new hard disk.

 

still in build guess ill go play crysis maxed out on the rig i have now lol

 

Open the bottom cover and take a look, or just peek through it with a torch.

Note sure what to tell you. Both of mine blink. It's quite subtle, but very obvious if you fire up something that is using the drive.

 

Crysis maxed out is not so playable unfortunately.

 

I maxed it and it runs at around 20-25fps not too bad changed water detail to just high not very

 

My tracking # showed up the next time I checked. about three hours later.

I can't imagine it would come tomorrow right? I got nbd. So I will just plan on Tuesday I reckon.

We have an older AW rig that gave us all kinds of problems and needed to be sent to Florida a few times for service. Even after that it still gave us massive issues and at least one BSOD with every use of a few hours or more. I swore off AW. Then came Windows 7. Haven't had a single BSOD since. Brought me back into the fold.

Go figure!

 

1 week left, still no change in status. Still "In Production". Hope to see a change by Friday.

9 days, still no status change

Just received mine over the weekend...This thing is awesome ! ! !

 

New system should be here in a matter of minutes. Hmm now to debate whether or not I should open it. I could sell it sealed on ebay and wait it out for the 5870s...decisions decisions.
