List everyone M17x-R2 ETA

Sure just rub it in. Quad my ssd arrives tomorrow with no m17x to put it in Ill probably use it in my desktop just to make sure it works and to keep myself occupied. Lately I find myself calling that order status line every 4 hours haha. Having the battlefield beta out just rubs salt in the wounds.

 

I was going to put my SSD into the desktop but talked myself out of it based on the fact that i would enjoy it to much and not want to take it out lol...

Im sure you and Drake will hit boxing very soon... Ill bet by Saturday night because thats when all mine went into boxing ... Of course i paid for overnight which meant that next buisness day was monday so i would not get it till Tuesday lol.. Happened to me on more the one occasion ill never learn though...

 

Boxing doesn't mean it will ship next day but usually they get them out Thursday or Friday so they hit the USA on Monday then ship.

Boxing can take what ? 2-3 days ?... So if it hits Boxing tomorrow it could ship sunday or monday i guess ?...

 

Boxing take 2-3 days unless you throw in a weekend which will push it toll the nbd

 

I don't know what to do with my order. It has the problematic dvdrw SKU but it is still in production. Should I cancel and reorder? I placed my order on the 19th if that is important.

zomg i can't wait, the benchmarks u guys put up will either convince me to buy it with 4870's or to wait, also how easy are the 4870's to OC?

btw i was looking at the ati site and maybe something could help, besides the fact that they list 4870's as gddr5/gddr3, the 5870 supports certain things under direct x 11, does that mean if a game isn't dx11 that it won't use those features?

Depends on the game. It can use some features to a extent but mostly no.

 

hmm the french online order status pages only show the following stages:

1. Order recieved
2. Order processing
3. Order under preparation
4. Order production (where I have been since the day after the order was made)
5. Shipped
6. Order canceled

From my basic knowledge in french, it seems that there is no separate boxing stage like you guys refer to. It is production to shipping. And shipping is when it is actually created a carrier tracking number.

So I won't know any more until it is shipped... I ordered on 1/20.

Well you DO have the wrong part number for the dvd right? It might end up just sitting in the build stage until cancellation. Wait it out for a few more days and if it doesn't hit boxing, I'd cancel and re-order.

 

then i think i will order with the 4870's only about 12 decent games coming with dx11 this year, and few that i will play, i think the 4870's will be good for at least a year probably 2 am i right?

 

Yes your correct ... The 3870's easily max out most games and the 9800m gt is still a high end card.


So really with xfire your good for a long time

 

Mobile fermi will also likely be MXM 3.0b so that will be my next major upgrade after 4870s. I wouldn't worry about DX 11 too much right now, it brings desktop cards to their knees. The xfire 4870s will have nearly as much raw power as a desktop 5850.

They are equal my desktop 5850 hit 14k in vantage stock

 

Yup..1440 shaders with higher bandwidth vs 800 shaders x2 so it gets very close. More than enough power for most of us I think.

 

ahhh and how well can you OC' the 4870's??? outa curiosity. but isn't 2gb mobile better than the i gig desktop???

 

You only use 1 gig in crossfire

also they can oc decently ... The 14 k in vantage is overclocked

This is interesting to me... I didn't order a part number, I ordered a drive, canceling orders is just inefficient if there is a supply issue for a particular part. At the very least they should email you with a notification and let you know there was a change and give you the option to change your order... not just let it sit and be canceled. I am not impressed with Dell at this point...

I have no idea if it is the actual laptop that is shipped or if it is only the electronic shipping order that has been created. Might be the latter.

I printed the transport documents, it is dated today and has the Limerick, Ireland address... I guess I'll see when it actually reaches some airport in france, the tracking info usually updates then.

Just tell them that you have a business trip coming up (or whatever) and you need to get it expedited. You could also say that you won't be home during the end of the week, etc.
