i just contact my rep and was told that "Currently we are having the shortage for the RGB screen for the M17x, NO RECOVERY DATE has been given yet… So it means we don’t know when we’ll have the stock"
the worst thing is that i just returned my M15x which was delivered 10 days ago and i will not have any computers at all for at least one month i guess. sad......any one think during the next month there will appear 5870s or 285s?? -
Rep is saying it will only be a two week delay - so ETA late February, early March - but who knows.
G73 is sounding very tempting - if I can get it before the end the month.
I am computerless too and I need a computer for work purposes in a few weeks. -
hard to get G73 in AU for me and i do prefer the case of AW. -
I am going to wait for the order. Looks like the flcker problems been figured out and can be fixed. I have been waiting fir this laptop for many months so ne more is not to bad. And I think it will be a cracker of a laptop.

i doubt the 5870 wont be here for a long time at least 2 month + 1 month deliver time. its best just to place your order for the RGB now. even if it will take u 4 weeks to get here

Does this shortage include New Zealand as well or just Australia? Because I ordered my M17x on the 2nd Feb and my order status still says a 23 Feb estimated delivery date - do you think it will be here then?

For me the biggest disappointment wasn't with dell but with DB shanker, the company in charge of deliverying my laptop. It arrived in Australia 9th of feb, i thought i would get it early. But it never left the Australian Hub, when 15th of feb came, ( my initial ETA) i was getting worried as it was still sitting in Hub with no movement.
I called up Dell, they told me its with Shanker
I called up Shanker, They told me its with Dell.
Now i actually moved out of the house so i have no PC except for when i am at work, with uni starting down the track, the Asus G73 JH was looking very beautiful to me. espeically my local store, www.digitalstar.com.au actually have this laptops in stock where i can go in and pick one out.
On the 17th of feb, with still no movement on my laptop, and no one from dell or shanker knows where my laptop is, i decided to just cancel and go for a asus. ( I can't take going home without internet or PC any longer.... lol )
So i gave dell a call said i wanted a refund, next morning dell head office called me, a nice gentleman told me he would personally take care of the matter for me.
2 hours later, Shanker called, they "got my laptop in factory" and will deliver tomorrow, which is today.
Lets see if shanker can live up to thier promise now and hopefully i will finally have a laptop to surf the net. -
Oh my god...I just received an email saying that due to a parts shortage, I won't get my M17x for another 6 weeks. 6 weeks longer for something that was supposed to be delivered this Tues, the 23rd Feb.
This is unbelievable but I have no idea what to do....I'm honestly lost for words -

im soooooooo close to getting an asus 73g
only thing stopping me is the dual vid card that the m17x has...i can only play games on max settings...and im worried one 5870 wont cut it at 1920*1080 for the latest games.... -

i had my rep to arrange my m15x return for refund last Thrsday under 15 days policy.they said they will call me and collect in 3 to 5 business days. however today is the 5th day. still get noboday contact me. is this normal or am i missiog something. do i need to get some return order number from rep? seems like i suppose to have one while return process from DELL website

took me 3 weeks for my return to happen, took another guy 3 weeks too..i think thats how long it normally takes.

Well I just got off the phone. my ETA is now 25th Feb. So they must now have new RGB stock. Here's fingers crossed. Kinda bummer as I cannot ask for another free upgrade LOL

Yes this was Dell Australia, using the Australia phone number. It looks like the web site for tracking is not working, however the phone operator told me 25th. Problem being i wont be in the country so if its delayed I cannot ask for another upgrade
but at least its gotta be here by the time i get back (wonder if i can drop into the factory while i am there and pick out teh parts myself

The 1800 number on the order confirmation. I then went to other inquiries and waited for a long time, but an operatior finally picked up and then redirected me. But I spoke to a human....... I just hope she had the real info. My current HD just died and so I am not without personal comp and cannot get to a shop to buy new HD for time being.

Well she didn't, but said that it must not be working if its not showing anything as their system shows 25th. I emailed my rep to see if she had any news but no responce. Can only hope they are not blowing smoke up my ........

DELL is coming to pick up my M15x next Monday, and i gona place my M17x order in March. Let's hope we have 5870s come out during cebit. Otherwise, XF4870 might works great to me i guess. can not camping any longer.
PS, anyone know what did AW do during last cebit period? -

Well dell service is a shocker, 2 weeks and they can't deliver something for me thats in australia already. 2 WEEKS! i can travel across the country in 2 weeks. If thier deliver is that bad i don't want to see thier customer service when something goes wrong.
Besides i have a new love now. in the form of Asus g73JH. So please fight all over it for my laptop, if u guys want it. its yours.
BTW, i paid 3660 for my set out. I bet they will charge you guys more =) -
I had a Dell m90 Precision laptop and customer service for that has been the best I have ever had. Thats why I am getting a m17x and not a pioneercomputer clevo. That and the num pad + lights through the key pad. Simple but true.
