Not gonna happen lol 256... for nearly 600 dollars! HA I play alot of games and have alot of large files.. I store music, games, Videos etc...Although I could do a single small SDD and then, slave my 500 gb 7,200 rpm to it I guess....

Yea I know Moo... you also recommended and helped me find the Qx9300... you are usually right, I just don't know If I can justify it... although I may buy a good samsung SSD or OCZ

just go take one for a test spin. walk into a store an buy it. go try it out and get the full understanding of what we are trying to share with you...then take it back and waitout the pricing storm...best way to go...just dont break it while your using it...lol

They still get good reviews and often compared to the Intel drives. You can only say a certain ssd is slower than another only if your being specific regarding the task.

After doing some OS tweaks seq reads didn't change much but seq writes hit 170.

Well thats pretty slower for me :p . Samsung's r reliable but for me doesn't worth because the low performance (except for PB22 which got a really good performance).

I was going to say, the SSD that comes with the M17x isn't on that list. I also find in looking at a lot of those reviews that the smaller SSD are not keeping up with their larger counterparts.

TBH i sold my SSD's for more than i payed (strange things happen in brazil :D ) so... :D .

At least i learned 2 things... raid 0 in ssd don't really worth (the real life performance increase isn't THAT good... The best in ssd's is access time :p ) and the second is... SSD WAS THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT lol.

I was hearing the W90s were in the 11.4K range so the M17x is scoring higher right now. I think each time I post it's a new record but I am not keeping up with what others are getting.

unfortunately i can't overclock my gpu's anymore, atleast with nvidia's system tools. It locks up upon boot, i even reinstalled windows from scratch again thinking maybe i screwed the os up because of trying all those drivers over and over but no go. Looks like i need to find another way to oc that works

have ya'll tried flashing your vbios and then overclocking with a higher voltage?

well there is something that is keeping me from overclocking using nvidia's system tools 6.03, i even tried 6.05 and did same thing, it will let me overclock but when it is saved it will lock up on me, mostly upon reboot when logging in to windows. not sure how to allieviate it. even if i just slightly overclock the card it locks up. I'm thinking it's a profile issue between the system tools and win7

check what your rendering at...sometimes that can help make you stable. ..else just set them when your up and running.

185.20's... :)..but keep hacking away...your almost there.

humm, when i ran raid it was 550 mb reads and 350 to 400 writes..and that wasn't fast enough huh?

Is more than enough thats the point :p .

I don't really noticed a big improvement in performance compared with 1 vertex... Basically i don't need 500mb sequential read, 1 vertex already made my experience with my computer 300% better and made my loading times in CSS much faster :D .

The strong point in SSD's for me is the access time not read/write speeds, my loading times (in games, programs, etc) was much lower, that much low that i don't noticed much improvement with 2 SSD's :p .

At least for me... SSD's are REALLY amazing and TBH 1 SSD looks to be enough for me :p

It is a windows 7 issue not anything to do with rendering, the only change from when i was going back and forth with mandrake on top scores was i decided to change from vista to win 7 guess i need to go back to vista for now. Apparently the nvidia system tools profiles are not compatible with win 7, if you boot up with or use one of these profiles the system locks up. It is not a case of too much oc as it does it whether it is a .01% oc or 20% oc.

my problem is not voltage it is win 7 as stated above, i'd rather give more voltage to my cpu then gpu at the moment so i can up the clocks on that more.

I wasn't having issues with vista when i went back to it, i just like win 7 better so i wanted to try and make it work but it looks like we need to wait for more mature drivers and system tools before doing so, even had issues trying to use rivatuner, evga precision or the coolbit hacks to oc the GPU's. If you run with stock settings it is fine just when you try to oc the gpu is where the issues start and this was fine in vista so it has to be a win 7 issue. I even did a fresh format and install of win 7 last night real quick just to make sure i didn't screw anything up but no go. When i get home from work i will be putting vista back on and then start trying to catch back up to you. ;)

ah i see, when i was doing the oc on the gpu i couldn't get past 670 on the core, so i might have to flash to get past that.

    Hey guys,

I just found this link in the M980nu forum. It's the driver download site for the dual 280 Clevo.

I'm not sure if the graphics drivers are the same as what you're using or not but thought I'd post anyway just in case you can use them.
