From the version info of those drivers it looks to be older than the stock dell drivers which i believe were 179.85, but clevo's looks to be 179.79
-
lol.
10char. -
can you try them anyway? just to see what performance they could give...
-
I'll bet on the Clevo having the same driver problems as the AW and the Tosh.
-
good call... seeing as they have the exact same specs... yes if u put a 260m in there it would probably work... but no one will because they come with single 280m or dual 280m and anyone upgrading from single 280m would just pay $400 to get another 280....
-
I haven't tried yet but I can. I'll get back to you later.
-
i'm about drivered out, i've probably tried about 15 drivers since i got this thing and each time i've found dox's 182.46 is the best. So i can't promise i will, if i get the urge i will post results.
-
I know how you feel. That's one reason why we need more participation from M17x owners.
-
Huh someone needs the omniscient voice of clauss? where!
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Doooo it Clauss -
I have the 260s, rob said it was the driver download site for the dual 280s. Makes any difference?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok Crap I forgot... we need Kcissem, or Mandrake? I forget what GPU set is madrake using?
-
I think that's why they want you to check.
-
Geforce Go 6800!
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Loool... Ok I didn't see it in your sig before, I jumped back a few pages to look but it must not have loaded properly... and yes Clauss they are based on the same card and architecture so you should try them out as well! usually they are the same drivers

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i thought you was benching with the nvidia fx5200!!!!!!!! -
No, I upgraded from that last week. That's what got me over the 16K mark in 3dmark06.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i can't wait to see what you hit with your new card then.
oh man and i was looking it up to and it seems like a hot card
http://www.nvidia.com/page/fx_5200.html -
Oh sorry Clauss, I just refered to the dual 280's to indicate it's the same basic set up as the M17x. I don't know if the list includes drivers for the 260's or not.
I worded it badly.
The list is what drivers Clevo has for the M980NU.
-
Oh by the way, when i overclocked the 3.3Ghz, it felt a little warm. I played like 30 mins of crysis. And it was extremly hot. I didnt have anything to monitor it. But when i felt the back of the chassis were the GPU's were. They were working hotter than i had before I had OCed. Maybe thats a a bad observation on my part because the gpus arent overclocked. All i know, with it at 3.3Ghz, the back of the comp was very very very hot.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
use hwmoniter and see what temps you get.
run cpustab test for 5min and see what your temps are.
then run prime for 5 min and see if you pass. (i know it isn't long enough but if it is completely unstable then it will fail fast)
then if your temps aren't to bad run occt for 12min and watch your cpu burn in.
if you pass then we can go from there.
i will look up how the msi and the asus did it but they bought it up to 3.51ghz stable.
pleaes repost as you go along. -
The T9600?? If that is true the T9900 would be worth a try.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
sorry my mistake it was the t9800
i lost in 3dmark06

i wish i knew how far they overclocked the 4850 to -
Well i turned off the overclocking, but I will do it now. Going to download all those programs now.
-
So you want me to run those apps? or run crysis and watch temps on hwmonitor?
sorry for double post
what is the highest I wan my CPU or GPU temps to be? -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
both. do crysis benchmark first. run it 2 times. just the cpu test.
then post your results. then run everything listed in my previous post in that order.
crysis isn't a program that you should use to watch your temps unless it's long periods of gaming.
dmc4 is a good one for the gpu. but we are focused on the cpu.
remember we arent focused on performance just stabilty.
also don't forget to change it to high performance in your power profile.
gonna play some prototype then i have to run out with my girl. i'll come back and see your results and we can go from there.
-
Oh you dont want me to play crysis, just the benchmarking tool..gotcha.
K doing cpu benchmark test on crysis benchmarking tool now. all high and 1900 by 1200 reso -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
not really. crysis's game play never stressed my qx9300 on my whitebook as the other programs did or the benchmark.
-
Just ran crysis benchmark tool cpu. made it through fine with ~25 FPS. Turn up to very high now? for the fun! the temps didnt shoot up, no new maximums. Which are 69 and 71. Trust me crysis warhead on enthusiast made the back of this fiery hot.
just ran with all on very high..hah 15 fps..WOW thats low...my comp sucks =( -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
then run warhead on max, and don't forget the other programs.
-
Yeah i am going to run a level or two with hwmonitor on then check the max's. It got so hot I just turned down the settings, saved, and went back to regular clocking.
-
That Far Cry 2 run was on optimal while yours was on Ultra High. The 9800M GTX should get higher, when compared due to the extra memory. Also, that run had the 4850s overclocked to 550/900.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
thanks i was wondering how it did so good. i think i could squeeze out 5 more fps but 9.
i was overclocked also. and stock was 30fps. -
so should we tell them what dox driver to use and our score's ....?
-
690|1725|1050 = 11791
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
really and what was your clocks before and are you still using the same driver. i think some thing is wrong with my math??
-
I was using 690|1060|1660. Yes same driver still.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
keep the everything the same and up the shader to 1675.(you could just do the gpu run you don't have to go through everything.)
it seems to be unstable for some reason. -
can you go higher than 690? I'd say reduce everything else a bit while upping the core (if possible). If that doesn't work, bump the shaders or memory (but not both). Seems like one of the three components might be unstable at higher speeds.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i think it might be the core as well but i would keep the memory as 1060 or 1060
-
All of the OC I do on the GPU fail. Not sure how you are able to do it yourself. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
what driver are you using????
-
The dox 182 something
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
try
650 core
1625 shader
1000 memory -
are you using nvidia's system tools 6.03? that is the only thing i've found that works to oc the gpu, it's the same one mandrake's using as i pointed him to it
-
Driver crash.
-
How about a single card run maxxed (what you used for your SLi runs). Something tells me you can push the clocks a bit further when running off 1 card compared to running it in SLi...
-
I'll try it but I was taking your earlier advice first. I upped the core to 695 and brought everything else down.
Edit: That brought me down to 10405. -
Same thing, I think it is a driver crash more than anything else and yes I am using the nvidia tool 6.03
-
Which benchmark tool are you using? Vantage?
