well i understand both of you. i will do this when i purchase more hdds to see if there's a difference. i have an extra 120gb @5400rpm but it's slow and when i placed it in my clevo it brought down my system performance.

You have 3 harddrive slots , why not toss your music or videos or what ever else on there ? its not like those need a performance drive .

that's what i did. but i had random freezes with it in. it was horrbile.(felt like my whitebook with the stutter)(i disable the index and there was no pagefile or anything relating to the os on it) so i didn't know at the time what was causing it until i pulled it out.

    here's a picture of it's performance.

    Wow, that's really bad man!

Something is seriously wrong. Do you have the drive set up correctly in the bios?

Is that drive a SATA drive. If not, that may be your problem. Your other drives are SATA so SATA is likely enabled in the bios.

Let us know how it goes when you get a new drive.

I thought it might have been an old IDE drive.

How does any of this page (Page 155-156) have anything to do with benchmarks on the M17x?

how does this? Instead of complaining, contribute. The ones you are refering this question above to have contributed to this thread, maybe not in M17x benchmarks since they may not own it yet but they have been helping the ones who have, including myself.

Very nice. 13900 after OC'ing the GPUs. 1650|1050|1650

Trying a single card now. Won't be close to your score.

    11788 with single GPU OC'd P8700 @ 3.0Ghz = SLI & CPU @ stock. Does that sound right?

that's good. what's your stock clocks btw.

my stock clocks and test was 10135. not tweaked. and my cpu is faster. you're doing good for single clocks but i'm not sure how well sli scales in this benchmark until I get mines. even though it's highly cpu dependent. can you run stock runs and overclocked sli and single runs with just the two gpu run. don't do the cpu test to see where you get at.

So disable CPU part of the test and that's it?

Lost about 13 FPS off the avg w/Crysis. Another CPU heavy test?

you don't have to i can do math and see how your gpu is doing. i just have to look at your score.

that's surprising. everything stocked except the cpu correct?

even though crysis is a nvidia game, i see ati is handing it to them. my single 3870 is the same as my 9800m gtx or maybe it stresses the components to were you barely see a difference.

do you have a "high" benchmark for it. nvidia is suppose to be faster with that and i wonder if the cpu will help it.

i remember with my whitebook pushing the cpu had no effect on this benchmark either. no matter how high i pushed it. maybe because i just up'd the multiplier. (or maybe something is going on that we don't know with ati and nvidia(conspiracy)) lol JK.

I'm just using the nvidia tools. Doesn't get any easier than that. They call the program "Performance" and gives you OC'ing options for most of the system.

Crysis doesn't use Physx it's got it's own physics engine that is run through the CPU.
