680/1050/1620
Just testing the waters atm.
Have you done any benching on these drivers to compare them to DOX? not sure if want to switch yet or not .
Btw im doing this benching for you drake since i know its very lonely at the top.
-
-
thanks.
I've done some benching with the 190.38 and it seems to have a ceiling.
If you have the core at 680 change the shaders to 1700 and see what the difference is.
Edit: Beat my score so I have something to shoot for! -
Got corruption at those speeds . No artifacting in the first run but the second run the corruption started in 2d/3d.
-
Edit: The most I've seen is stuttering at high speeds. -
basically the screen starts shaking and the picture is just corrupted . Could be my SLI cable though cause its not artifacting like stretched polygons or anything.
-
you have the second card disabled right?
Nevermind. Your not getting 11K+ with one card. -
would have never hit 11,300 on one gpu
nope i have both cards running .
Or you mean the 9400 ?. 9400 is disabled in the bios yes. that would have been the 3rd card though. -
Are you willing to try it with the Dox drivers? -
Im installing them as we speak
.
-
680/1700 was unstable thus far for me atleast . trying 690/1060/1690 now.

I should have mine by next week with dual 260's and a P8600, I can run some benches with the P8600 stock and over clocked as well as stock and over clocked GPU's, I just need someone to help me out with Vantage, that's the Key*.

Crap I didn't get to check my my scores running on the Dox drivers... however I am going to run the Dell beta drivers for a score in a minute here...
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Alright these are my stock vantage scores with Dell's Beta 186.12 drivers

Get to overclocking the GPUs and report back. Mandrake has been wanting some competition badly
.
Ill do some more once i get my machine straightened out and a New CPU. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
whatever happened with the CPU did they send you a dud? also do you think my CPU score is a tad low?
-
Well the CPU worked at 2.4ghz take it for what its worth .
As for CPU scores i never pay attention to them so i am the wrong person to ask.
A fatter CPU though should help sweeten my scores abit , not a ton though since the GPU score is just that .
The P8600 though is a turd IMHO . its a great overclocker but 3megs of cache just aint gettin it .
Im running my memory at 1333 along with my FSB at 1333 with 0 issues so im glad my memory can handle it .
I have to get my SLI cable issue worked out before i go spending cash on the CPU since i might just return the machine if this doesnt fix it or have them issue a replacement but i havent decided which path ill take . If i return then reorder i can get more for my $$$. -
Keep your core/shader ratio to 2.5 for stability... from 650/1625, raise core by 10 and shader by 25. Memory is another story, but anything after ~1025 will create instability. Your core clock is more important.
-
I ran my cards at 690/1060/1690 and everything was kosher.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
How much of a temp increase did you see?
-
maybe a few degrees . Max i have seen my GPU is around 81 i think . Mind you i have mine just sitting on a flat board on my bed
.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok my GPU's are running at a difference of 11C anyone have any Idea why?
-
So your saying at idle your GPUs are 11 degrees from each other ?. or under load ?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Well at all times... however now it seems they have set back to the original 4c or so difference... which still throws me off... also Hey quad what drivers are you using? becuase using dell's drivers I OC my GPU to your settings 690/1060/1690 and the higest my GPU's got was 65-70 however 3d mark crashed after a few minutes

Every GPU is not the same so if its crashing you will have to back down the clocks till it does not . Some people get lucky while others dont and its always luck of the draw same as the CPUs.
I did my best run on the DOX drivers but im back to 190.38s from laptopvideo2go, when you download them you will need to download the inf file right next to it and replace it in the folder you extracted . Also make sure your bios is set up under the GPUs as disable disabled config. -
I did those couple benches really for Mandrake .
I also ran Crysis at 1920x1200 all Very high and scored 30fps with a GPU OC similar to the one i used for Vantage but didnt post the score cause i really wasnt impressed.
Should be able to hit 34fps or higher considering a 9262 Clevo with dual 9800gtx scored 34 in the same bench but also had a 3.0ghz Quad behind it . -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
-
Yeah then download the modified INF right next to it as well and dump it in the folder after it extracts.
Then download this and it install it after because it adds SLI profiles that Nvidia did not add to the drivers.

Have fun. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Alright I'll give it a go... thanks quad... anything I should know? better gaming etc?
-
The drivers are solid thus far but im not doing a ton of gaming yet till i get the SLI cable issue addressed so you will have to figure out if there better or not for yourself .

Can anyone here help me out with Vantage?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yeah what's up?
Also Quad... I install the drivers and then insert the modified INF file into my program files or what?
Disable disabled config? I'm guessign under advanced graphic options and do so before I install? -
Megacharge Custom User Title
I need to be able to run Vantage more than once if you know what I mean, that's whats up biscuit.
-
Biscuits i told you to extract the file then replace the INF with the one you downloaded. This all takes place before you install the drivers.

I think side topics needs a thread dedicated solely to biscuit, so everyone can drop in there and help him out. lol
And biscuit don't forget to reboot in safe mode and use driver sweeper to uninstall your old driver remnants before you install your new drivers, or you can run into some problems. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Crylo do you mean you want to set it on a continous cycle... or you have a trial mode of some kind?
very funny HA HA
Quad... you also said something about disabling disabled config though... I do not know what that is -
..
Biscuits instead of posting every question that pops into your head you REALLY need to start discovering things on your own.
The whole this is my first gaming laptop etc thing is only going to last so long when your asking for help.
You said you have a gaming desktop with a 8800GTS in it or what ever ? how did you ever run a game on there ? and what forums did you have accessible to you that would answer 9 million questions ?.
Not being a jerk here but man you really need to do things on your own so you actually know what your doing. -

I would like to explain in more detail, but I can't now.
And yeah Biscuit, no offense but you really really need to start using that search feature bud. I know it's your first laptop and all, and you're very excited and not really sure of everything, and there are a lot of knowledgeable guys here who can help you, but everyone here is having a lot of their own problems as well, and you're really starting to wear out your welcome so to speak in regards to your seemingly endless questions, that can be answered with a little work via the search feature.
I hope you don't take it the wrong way, I don't mean to sound insulting or condescending, but please, just try to use the search feature sometimes, give the guys a break for a while. -
i hope its the last one

This is actually the benchmarks thread, not the owners thread, which brings me to yet another point, which I think goes without saying.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
My god.... step back (facepalms all around)... Sorry I'm tired
lol.... anyway Crylo PM me about Vantage I think I know what you are talking about
also the search feature is really not so great... I often find myself digging through dozens of pages to find the information I need even with the search -
Just finnished my first run through with all stock settings, well almost. Stepped the q9000 up to 2.1 instead of stock 2.0 but that's it. I ran 3d mark 06 with both screan settings but no other actions clicked on, ran Vantage, and Pc mark Vantage. However all I have is my latest run due to the fact I incorrectly save all my other info. My next set of posts will have all tests run with fresh drivers. Time to sleep.

What are your specs Raven?
Anyway I am overclocking my GPU's with Nvidia's control panel (good or not?) lol, anyway any overclock seems to make gaming unstable, what do you guys use to OC your GPU's? -
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok thanks mandrake I was using 6.02... will it really make a difference though? becuase any OC on my gpu's currently make gaming and benching unstable
-
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
I did even a simple step of 600/1000/1500 and it wouldn't work quite right and became unstable... FPS dropped quite a bit
M17x Benchmarks thread !!!
