your bios or any m17x bios...your looking for a volt mod. the only other volt mod is a hard mod, which 99 percent will not be trying any time soon...lol.
don't ask me, because right before i got to that part with my x9000, i sold the laptop and got a different one....

yeah, got the desktop bug right now. there is no way i can push a laptop anywhere remotely close to where im at now. and as for gaming, not even a contest. and my everyday laptop is a thinkpad t61p with a few upgraded parts to make it a nice little portable workstation repair laptop. also to surf the net while the desktop is doing it's thing...i may get into folding later...

also quad...i have like 10 computers right now...i can only use so many at one time...lol

Set you multiplier to default and your memory and fsb to 1235...you'll have 2.93Ghz.

    1066 running @ 1333 give a higher CL but 1333 running @ 1066 is the same thing.

I knew there was a reason why I liked you. ;)

Lol the second part is really confusing.... "1066 running @ 1333 give a higher CL but 1333 running @ 1066 is the same thing." What the H is CL? lol

And by stock you mean for the Qx9300 which is 9.5... or should I use 9 instead

Hey Mandrake I don't know how to do what you are asking... Let me send you a pic to show you what I mean... That's how I do my overclocking and I don't see how I can go off your recommendations... unless you had another program in mind?

I mean I do see the CL now at least, so I learned something lol

Go under advanced and change the Memory Frequency and FSB Frequency to 1235. If you have issues try lowering it to 1230.

lol. yeah, you probably need to recomprehend what I wrote.

Skill level? So I can double click on an application, punch in some numbers and hit apply. Does that make me a level 63 Benchmarking Mage?

Interesting you say that because the XMP ready sodimms from OCZ seem to be the regular SODIMMs at 1066mhz, except it has another profile that bumps the latencies to make it more stable at 1333mhz. Tried it on my whitebook before I sold it and it had the same memory banks as the original PC-8500 sticks...

That's my highest so far. The exact number is here. But, there's screen tearing during the Vantage load screen and in some of my games, so I'm going to RMA for it since I've already tried different driver and VGA BIOS setups.

Sorry just got back in had to drop back to stock... When I set both to 1235 it wouldn't work, loads went on forever or it just went black screen... Then I set memory to 1333 and FSB to 1235 and it started up worked for a while and then BSOD... so it's safe to say 1235x1235 didn't work... but I don't know why it started with memory at 1333.........

Keep dropping it down by 5 and try again. It's important to keep the memory and FSB the same. On a side note if you can't get 1235 to work then 3.06 will be out of reach. The OEM procs are reaching those speeds.

Yea I figured that one... although someone told me to try setting Multiplier to 9 and then pumping FSB... like 333x9.... But yea I got it to 2.8 just with the multiplier at 10.5 I guess I just got a weak CPU

Try experimenting without touching the multiplier. Once you see how far you can push it then you can try additional OC'ing with the multiplier and NST.

butters i'm lost at where you are can you do this for me. and report your clock speeds at where you are in each.

    stock everything= 2.53ghz 1066fsb 1333 ram
    stock everything just multiplier upping=????ghz
stock everything just fsb upping =???? ghz ???fsb 1333 ram
and then we can go from there with ram adjustments.
