Ok....
Multiplier only I managed to get to 10.5= 2.8ghz
Just FSB upping, memory@ 1333 I got to 2.93ghz.. but it BSOD after like 5 min
Then when I tried to do 1235 FSB and 1235 Memory I couldn't start the system

and unlink you ram and cpu.
up your multiplier to 10x
pump you fsb to 2.93
let me know what happens and i'll tell you different things. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
So in other words your saying just try a bunch of different ways until I hopefully get there right?
-
TBH the site is only going up today/tomorrow because I'm not going to wait it be 100% done.
It only proves what I'm saying for weeks... unlike 1:1 1:2 isn't more stable than other decent divisors. -

Alright I see where we are heading... thanks Dondadah, I'll let you know what happens each time... oh but I shouldn't use NST right?
(didn't before so don't worry about those) -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Okay I'm an idiot lol... I just ran x10 Multiplier and 1120 FSB and 1120 memory... not thinking straight lol only @ 2.8 right now so basically back at 10.5 simple mutliplier... K brb
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Alright @ x10 multiplier and 1140/1140 I'm @ 2.85 ghz and I'm stable and running very cool... time to step it up to 1150
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok. let me know when it bsod and at what clock speeds
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok I will... I'm going at intervals of 10's now... I'm at 1150/1150 @ 2.875ghz... once I hit BSOD I should roll back at 5 or so at a time?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
just at the clock speed it bsod and then what speed it is and i have two more ideas i can shoot out at you to raise it up some more.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
BSOD @ X10 multiplier 1165/1165
Right now im at 1160/1160 2.9Ghz stable -
For those who don't know where to change the GPU clocks in NST.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
ok now make your ram separate from you cpou stock at 1333 and see if you can get higgher or lower.
mandrake can i have a screen shot of the motherboard and the ram -
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
haha alright... Let's get crackin Don... When I upped my memory to 1333 it was lightining fast but it BSOD again after about a mintue or so... right now I'm running the ram @ 1260 but the CPU speed is the same
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
drop the ram lower then the cpu. and see what happens.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
for instance how low? 800?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
800 is the lowest I would go but try 800 and if it works keep going up slowly
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
? why the ram and FSB were both working at 1160
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Why do I need to work up from a lower clock than the one I knew was stable @ 1160?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
the ram not the cpu fsb.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea I know
... I had both the RAM and CPU FSB at 1160

Just a little OC and getting fair scores, I will push it more later. Also for a little humor, my windows experience index is reading all the way up for the little that it's worth HA HA.

Not not my Graphics card score... my Processor
-
Ye man, I am pushing 2.93 and tried 3.06 and never got 30k LOL
-
so what is the highest qx9300 over clock thus far?
lol@mandrake
and mandrake...what is the lowest and highest that cl can be set to? and does it do like 9-9-9-24 / 5-5-5-15 and so on? -
I can't get over 3.06.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
the score above is with physx enabled.
-
his score is over 30k because he has PhysiX Turned on, normally you run vantage with it turned off.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
my highest cpu score for my qx9300 I believe was 12,5?? that's at 3.2ghz.
-
Thanks Don, that makes me feel better
-
This thread got lost from it's origin. It would be good to have a summary of scores that was reached from M17X owners.
What is the highest 3DMark 2006 and Vantage score? What's the score to beat??? -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea I almost crapped my pant's I'm running my cpu at 2.9... that's about my max
I need to go head and run some benches...
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
lol I asked you to lower the ram because my theory is that it should lower the power and give some to your cpu. it's far fetched but worth a try.
as for the benchmarks. it's still the same. mr moo is very busy to update the first page with benchmarks. -
3dmark06 16690 - kcissem
Vantage 12044 - Mandrake
I believe those are still the top. -

make sure fraps insn't running..
-
Yeah just disable the CPU scores entirely . The Benchmark is long enough as it is and no one cares about the CPU scores anyhow and even less when Physx is running.
-
my E-peen will be sad though
I'm trying to get vantage but no DSL .... i think i will sneak my computer into subways tonight while i work and download it -
actually....the test needs to be fully ran so it can be posted to orb 1/2 3/4. which means all these tweaks and what not jive together to finish the run. it's too easy to just run gpu and bail out on the test. and your not verified until you posted it to orb. and for those running gpus like 280's and 260s...they seem to show up under the 180's and 160's on orb if you post them. we dont want to get like 3dmark06 where people we're flubbing scores acting like they really got that high. (just an opinion, but if it isn't orb verified. i just over look them) it needs to be submitted to count. we have been getting a bit lazy and the whole test actually does count. because to much of a cpu over clock may not allow the test to finish, just as to much of a gpu clock will do the same thing... there needs to be a balance and that's it. all my gpu scores we're submitted to orb. even if i did a gpu test first, i would go back and run the whole test to post on orb. because that is our only real ref for these numbers we pull.
-
According to Moo the score to beat is 16600. We really need to see some 17000 score on a M17X now...

yes, i was part of "here" at nbr, but i still ran the full test.
also, i have the record for the t61p as well.
but all good though. ya'll carry on with the good stuff and numbers.
