Kinc broke 20k on the W90 but never backed up the claim with more proof . Problem with all that is he is a well known desktop overclocker so he has some rep to back up his score.

this is true. i did say it. but the key is..once.

i think he had an unlocked bios though. his was hand picked from asus and sent to him if im not mistaken. his voltage is higher as well. and they know those bios hacks for not showing all the textures when running 3dmark06...pure speculation though

 

I just wanted to see his Vantage scores like many others with a 4.0ghz OC on the Qx9300 but they never surfaced .

Drake how much voltage did you throw at those cards for your top vantage runs ? i know the best i came up with is 11,500 even under the most ideal conditions so i figured you must have upped the voltage a tad to get some more head room .

you know how the ship flys over the water and the guy looks over the side of the ship...well...it's like....there is no water...what monster swimming in the non extant water and what detail..the ship looked like it was just a dust brown...lol
people we're not happy when they let it go as a completed legit run....too dammn funny.

you know quad...your 1920x1080 3dmark06 score still holds as well.

Now that i did not know. but i do know it was a monster. ATI cards hardly flinch at higher resolutions but at the same time dont give more at lower res either , shown by my crysis scores where i lowered the res and the scores barely moved but yours went through the roof.

Really nice stuff Mandrake....I don't count Kinc either, as much of a monster the W90 is at 3dmark06 there's only so much you can do with the voltage headroom that the W90 had, must of been a custom/unlocked BIOS.

 

Yeah i wonder if anyone has figured out how to increase the voltage on this machine .

I assume you're talking mobile. I hit 12002. How high have you hit so far?

 

Yes I was talking mobile, my current highest on Vantage is 11,153 physx disabled, for now, I plan on beating that after I get my Q9200, and start OC'ing again.

You can find my benchmarks on page 250 of this thread, all are with physx disabled.

1.357 is no slouch and its right at the top for voltages on laptops

 

If its really hitting 1.357 that is pretty darn toasty.

 

GPU clocks were much lower. I don't know if you read some of the earlier posts but I got a qx9300. That's how my 06 score went up.

 

mandrakes x9100 was @ 1.350

 

Actually Don proved it was lower because of the version of CPU-z I was using. I'll see if I can find it.

yes, i seen where you got your qx9300 form hp. but also read that you over clocked it for 3dmark06 then ran the same settings for vantage. that's why i was like...what happen.

 

@Mandrake, Can you do both gpu and cpu max oc'ed for vantage and 3dmark06?

 

I will definitely be doing more testing. I'll have more time on Friday. Maxing out everything doesn't always get you the best score. Just need to do a lot of testing to see what works best.

CPU T9550 2.66G Overclocked to 3.33G
SLI 260M with Batboys drivers

 

update that driver and you should be over 10 k

 

also turn off ppu dude....

 

I haven't OCed the GPU's yet Moo and I'm using Batboy's drivers which seem to be working ok for Mandrake?
But I'll give Dox 182.05 a run at some point.

I'll also disable PPU which I assume is Phyisx? as per scook9's post.

 

To Q9000/280 SLI OWNERS:

Can you please tell me the 3dmark06 scores of a NON-OCED Q9000 coupled with the 280 SLI?

I have returned my 1st unit that had those specs, but if you still want the results check out these links for 3d mark 06. Pretty sure these were done with stock everything if I am not mistaken. Hope they are helpful.

I'll worry about that when I need that final push to 18K. I'm still playing with CPU and GPU settings and drivers.
