It wasn't constant, it was repeating regularly. And I put my ear right by the fan to verify the source of noise

got bsod at 3.2 with 10x and 1280, just gonna try 12x and stock fsb now haha

If you get any dividers/multipliers working well for you let me know. I tried for about a day with the qx9300 to try to find a higher OC.

How long does it last before the BSOD?

well just finished 20 min OCCT at 12x 1066/1066 (so really 15 min OCCT since the idle at start and end)

gonna try 12.5x now with 25 min run so a full 20 mins burning

    haha, no luck at 12.5x 1066/1066, 12x 1200/1200

Trying 12x 1066/1066 at longer occt time now as that is still plenty of OC for one night :)

Got 13488 with stock speeds all around, had the gpu scaling on though, running again with it off to see if it will go up (figure it should slightly), over next 2 weeks I will do many runs to churn out a high score :) (both vantage and 06)

and WOW, 1000th post. Go me!

The higher clocks on the dual core let mandrake score what he did. Unless you match his dual core.... clock for clock you will not beat it .

    goodmorning from europe.

the bluetooth doesnt always need 30sec. somethign when i play with the processes or do something else it loads immediately. so its not related to aliensense. and many times when i remove the battery i starts even faster.

as for the benchmark i reached 15530 with the dell performance drivers and cpu at 3.07 no overclock of gpus.

i think its a respectable score.

EDIT: my m17x gives me the impression that the cpu ghz are indepedant from the memory and fsb speed i select in bios. i have set 1220 to both fsb and memory now and multiplier to 10 and windows properties say cpu as 2.67ghz.

so mandrake how did you make these calculations?

nothing that breaks my highest, I am trying new and different drivers, I dont think i can get to your score without some drastic measures,

I think you really did get the Golden child with that machine

What scores are others with the m17x getting?

I have not run any games yet, but I really want to know why my score is so low (I lurk around before buying this lappy, I knew that 1 GTX 260M is about 10k, which is what I am getting with 2 GTX 280M sli and it doesnt make sense :() I know I am totally clueless . I am a noob for benchmarks

It's your 2Ghz speed holding your 3DMark score down. Even at 2.4Ghz your not going to get very far. I wouldn't bother with that test, test with Vantage.

fsb is quad pump so a setting your fsb to 1280 you need to divide it by 4 to get the bus speed. 1280/4=320 multiply that by your multiplier 320x10=3200Mhz or 3.2Ghz. Use cpu-z to verify your cpu speed.

Vantage will test your 280s better than 06. Stock score you're looking for would be 10K+ on the GPU.

It is not that I am seasoned, I will just optimize the system, then run a few hundred runs to get the highest score possible haha

so far 10x 1280/1280 was unstable, 12x 1066/1066 was unstable, 10x 1240/1240 was stable. I really want to be at at least 3.2 :( (REALLY need to get that 1333 ram haha)

but that stock vantage run I had was nice :)

Puts me at 3rd highest vantage score in ORB for a qx9300 lol (for as much as that matters...)
