What are ya'll talking about????? you know those games can't really stress out that system??????? i'm so confused now?????????

the real stress test is Heretic. i'm not to sure if you can run it max. you may have to overclock it alittle bit.
it came out on december 23rd.

Me teasing you went right over Dons head and that has me a little scared at this point about Dons well being.

Don if you need someone to talk to you have my number :D.

Could someone please give expert opinion on my 3dmark vantage score (stock setting, free trial)?

    My system spec:
    Q9000 running at 2.4 GHz (FSB: 1285)
    GTX 280M SLI (stock setting)
    250 GB 7200 RPM Harddrive

Do you think that my GPU score is too low? How can I diagnose whether both GPUs are working or one of them is faulty. I want to know if my GPUs are working properly.

your score is a little low but it isnt anything to worry about i dont think, they are both workingor you would have a score in the region of 7-8k

that score is a tad at the low range, but nothing to be alarmed about

and as a side note, with my system bone stock, I got stuttering during Halo 2 :(

Thank you for feedbacks. I think I already push hard on my CPU. Maybe I will increase it a bit more. But do you guys OC your GTX 280M when playing games? Is overclocking GPU safe? I dont want to kill them early b/c they are expensive :/

I set everything to max, 19x12, AAx8 and it never went below 30fps. No idea why I got a "D" because the benchmark ran wonderfully.

Also, I might consider trying BatBoy's drivers over these, I dunno. Still need to OC as well.

those drivers your using dont have the SLI profile for the game and thats why score is so low :). You dont need to overclock the machine unless your trying to break some records in 06 or Vantage.

You can rename the .exe file to force it to use SLI if you dont want to be bothered trying a newer set of drivers. I tell everyone to use the 190.38s and follow EVGAs driver plan since they are most on the ball with SLI profiles.

ATi has always been bad at drivers... literally changing drivers for every game you use...

That said, nVidia hasn't been putting as much effort into their drivers lately either...

ATI driver support is lightyears better now than it ever was.

Nvidia used to be the gold-standard but ATI is slowly getting it's stuff together...

I get 10.3K on the GPU stock with the 280s and Dox drivers. With OC'ing you should be able to hit 11K for the graphics score. Planning on pushing it?

Sorry but by "newest stock driver" are you referring to those directly from Dell? The drivers on their site are just as old as the one that came out of the box, 179.xx.

Your temps are just fine so you can push it alot more . Nothing is permanent so just crank up the clocks run some tests then leave it back to stock :).

If you get too excessive your driver will crash on you before bringing it to dangerous levels. If the GPU dies on you anyway then something was wrong with it from the beginning. Just don't keep it like that or you'll shorten the lifespan.

Holy crap. If that is what I'll score stock, I will be a VERY happy camper. My desktop gets like 5000...

And your GPU temps in your laptop are lower than the 8800GTS in my desktop.

So I updated my drivers for SLI, ran SF4 again, max everything

Mmmm much better. I had ~59 fps the entire time except for the final scene which was ~40. All in all I'm impressed because it runs better and looks better on an M17x than an XBOX 360 or PS3.

Also, I agree with Moo about the monitor. Mine looks fantastic, not sure what all the complaining is about.
