M17x Benchmarks thread !!!

I would totally buy an ac unit for my M17x, but my girlfriend would kill me. But, I guess that would be a great reward if she dumped me to finally get ac for me and my dog. Figure I will wait until I move into a place with central heat and air. Drawing up plans for a work desk with built in fans and an adapter for an ac vent.

 

yeah...it's not buy an ac unit for your laptop...it's buy an ac unit for your home office/ you / and equipment and double it as a laptop cooler after you have it.

 

Yeah i couldnt imagine the puzzled look you would get when you say " hey i need to buy an Air Conditioner for my laptop" .

 

me personally...i would say it was for my laptop. hahaha. she can get crazy about it if she likes, but 99 percent of the time...i would make sure everything else was taken care of first...

plus it would be the portable one that rolls on wheels...so when i wasn't using it...she could...some times it cost effective to cool just one room instead of the whole house.

you set it right there.
change 1v to 1.03
then save it and flash it.

yeah, that part is a bit complicated... it's under the tools/ voltage editor. it allows you to edit the voltage up to what ever...just not sure if it works on the 260/280's past 1.03

Why would you want to save the GTX 280M ID onto your GTX 260M?

Yes, you should go back to 0618. What you are doing is testing whether your GPU can operate at that voltage given the method you used. Changing a second variable will only make it more complicated.

 

you can flash your own id back. you just needed to change the name so you can edit it, but once you save it back the way it was with your original strings...it will flash back to 260m

mmmm are you sure about that. Can you test it out with your m17 single and crossfired and some one with sli as well? Notto see which card is better but which one scales better in vantage. Ati or nvidia. I can nod the inf alittle bit but nothing to great.(I have to install an os on my laptop first since I messed up linux on it. )

Ask scook9 about it. He was also questioning about flashing it. ihe was at 1.03 as well but je got it to 1.07v.

 

John and i were wondering back in the W90 days why Vantage was not so crossfire friendly and he use to say "whats that second card doing ? " lol so i know for certain atleast in the W90s case thats just how it is. Wont bother on this machine quite frankly since i have never even installed Vantage on it .

Oh ok lol. I just remembered a couple months back you asked me to run it but I forgot.(great time to remember ) i'll call the guy in canada and ask him to do me a favor lol.

 

gpuz will show your voltage. so if it saved, it will show.

i also helped scook9 to test out a higher voltage...still not really sure it's working or not.

ichime cant get stable with both cards over volted...so it may take some time...

gpuz should tell you.

 

If i ever get the 4850s you bet ill be running Vantage .

 

Yeah this was just me stating that during a single run it was 6500 and with Xfire enabled it was 10500 or so and clearly not the almost exact double score you got with your 9262 from enabling SLI.

 

im with ya quad..mine was just an informational thing...i was kind of hoping he got it working. so we can see what they are suppose to do.

Its really sad to this day they are stuck at 9.4 i feel so bad for the W90 owners and Asus is a joke quite frankly when it comes to supporting there laptops.

 

does the precision tool work on these cards? the one from evga.

thought they found some one that was going to make it all work?

 

it worked for my 9800m gtx on my sager np9262. so it should alsoo work on these.

 

Just use RivaTuner to view your voltage. Gosh.

I can't run High clocks .... Vantage is freezing

By high I mean 720 1065 1725 which is weird ...

 

I think they found someone who is going to take a look at it and AMD is supposed to be stepping in to fix it .

these were released 8/21/09 so there's still hope for the w90.
in the m17x vs the w90. it alittle funny how nvidia ran the w90 completely stocked out of the box. and how the m17x was completely up to date with drivers. someone try stock drivers out of the box and see what you get. and how there compared physx. vantage cpu is the real funny ones. and if you look it's even more funny how the m17x just killed the w90 and made it look like garbage. but that's marketing for you.

also on a side note. the m17x if it wasn't used on a desktop cpu. it was a qx9300 on the unit meanwhile the w90 was a q9000 and it was stocked. (great job nvidia. )

your core speed is too high... >.<.... my single 280M crashes if I run the fabled 690/1060/1725. You trying to run 720/1065/1725??

moo can over clock far higher than any 280m can.

and amd is getting into the picture, huh quad...interesting...after a year, they are finally saying " to hell with the odm's and are going to finally make the stuff work" nice.

 

AMD is going to appeal to the el-cheapo's who think less money = better no matter what XD

I know, moo is funny. Any somebody tell me how he keeps his cards at 40 deg under full load pleaseeee I want to do this... Note I haveth NP9280 not M17x, so if it can be done would also be good XD

when i go to jamaica,(visiting family) it brutal with heat and no one uses A/C up there because of cost and more stuff.

 

Note - Trinidad = part of caribbean with money issues like that.
Note - Trinidad = far closer to equator
Note - We be hotter =)
