I have no idea why the link doesn't work... when I click at it from my gmail it opens up no problem (prompts for a file download)... PM me with your email address I guess.johnksss said: ↑bad link, repost...

Where do you change the settings from HD Tune to 8 meg? I cant find that option... -
click the 2 yellow gears at the top right portion of the screen
then click benchmark
set it to 8meg
set it to 100 percent accurate or slide the slider all the way down. -
Your ATTO results look much better.
I would say reset them to factory condition and reinstall your system.
Problem is, there isn't an easy way to do it with the samsungs
-
Looking better?
-
now that's looking more like right!
also give the random access a try
and move big files around..files like 2 to 5 gigs in size.
move files from your laptop to another machine if you have one handy
move files using esata.
just a few suggestions to get a real world performance idea.... -

What do you mean by move files? what would that accomplish? -
it shows you the real deal.
you use the hdtunes monitor feature to see just how fast you can read and write files to and from your raid or to esata to see how fast your esata really is.
test it against your other hard drives as well. if your running a gigabyte network, then you can really see how fast you can move files.
this is just like people say synthetic benchmarks mean nothing (bs if you ask me, they all mean something..lol) well this is the flip side to synthetic drive test... -

John, to be honest with you I havet played with the tool yet as I'm trying to do so many things with this laptop..... however check this out, I'm sure you'll enjoy itjohnksss said: ↑nice looking program.

way ahead of you...already been there. a few times. back when i was looking into running ssd's..lol
and i put all that stuff to the test...but what made the vertex drive run far better than what people expected was....the 1275 firmware update. -
Well, did you ever try all that stuff from the tool? (either manually or with the tool?)johnksss said: ↑way ahead of you...already been there. a few times. back when i was looking into running ssd's..lol

my screen is freaking out again....has only been fully stock since yesterday when I reloaded the driver and it "seemingly" fixed the problem..... is going on here guys?!
and I will point out I always get to the desktop 100% fine before it starts happening - like it happens when the video driver loads. Should I just try a different driver? -
I've seen crap like this way to many times on my ALX when I OC a lot.... however what I always end up doing is booting in safe mode and wiping the vid card drivers out... try driver cleaner (works great), then reload the drivers.scook9 said: ↑my screen is freaking out again....has only been fully stock since yesterday when I reloaded the driver and it "seemingly" fixed the problem..... is going on here guys?!

I did use driver cleaner....I always do....and this system is bone stock
And again.....loaded on the 9400m and it is 100% fine....the GTX 280m's are bugging it out -
Do you have any way of loading a dual boot to try a fresh install?scook9 said: ↑I did use driver cleaner....I always do....and this system is bone stock

manually. i was trying it on my regular drives first. then when i got my first ssd. i tried it.. it seems to somewhat help the stuttering and low transfer rate, but not enough to say it was cured. once they came with the 1275 update. the drive ran like a super champ.Xeneize said: ↑Well, did you ever try all that stuff from the tool? and today, i don't disable any of that stuff. no need too. i may from time to time disable that super fetch, since that is the only one that makes any real difference in my opinion. and i did run through these for like 2 weeks str8 back then...but stopped right after i tried to do a system restore and notice that my backups we're gone. due to following someone else's rendition of what i should do to speed up my system. i ran another program that needed the 8.3 and i wasn't about to be defraging a memory drive. (which was found out later to shorten the life of the memory. along with not being needed) that speed up stuff was origially thought to help the stuttering of the ssd's...but in reality...it was the jmicron controller casuing all the poor performance & stuttering found on most ssd drives. people we're trying to use all these things to catch the intel 80 gb drive..which didn't use a jmicron controller.
and ocz corrected theirs with the firmware update. samnsung is another story.. while pqi was also having issues, but seem to corrected it with their newer drives. patriot still has major issues on all of thiers. they run nowhere near their specs unless you test them with nothing on them..start putting daa on them and they start slowing down with lots of stuttering....transcend was just to slow for me period. i tried it out for like 3 hours and took it back.
also like to add...not saying it's bad, just that i didn't see in real gains to using them after a few weeks.
but me, i will try or test anything out there to gain a better understanding.

a fresh install should not be needed......
I have a 2nd hard drive with windows 7 and dox drivers loaded, I will check with that later I guess
Doesn't explain why this isn't working though..... -
make sure to enable 9400m and uninstall drivers there too..
-
that's because no one has yet to be in your position yet to find an answer and to explain it....scook9 said: ↑a fresh install should not be needed......

so what all have you tried thus far? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
just reinstalling the drivers (186.81 from nvidia directly) and using driver sweeper (in safe mode) between uninstall and reinstall
and I checked, the Voltage Table is not altered or anything for the bios that is flashed now, it is FULLY stock -
the best way to fix the problem....do a system restore back to when it was working....
my take on driver sweeper and driver cleaner...98 percent of the time...waste of time.(personal opinion only) -
Looks like you really done your homework with SSD, I'm very much facinated with this new technology, kinda reminds me back in the days when we were using regular video cards and the Monster cards came out....johnksss said: ↑manually. i was trying it on my regular drives first. then when i got my first ssd. i tried it.. it seems to somewhat help the stuttering and low transfer rate, but not enough to say it was cured. once they came with the 1275 update. the drive ran like a super champ.

That may be true regarding driver sweeper, but I don't see how it can hurt anything....(I got time - at least enough to run it between new installs)
As for the system restore, nothing changed from when it was working and when it wasnt, it just started on Thursday and has plagued me since (no changes or anything, not even a windows update) -
we...the people...are under the impression that if we fill a ssd drive to almost max capacity..the drive will slow to a crawl.Xeneize said: ↑Looks like you really done your homework with SSD, I'm very much facinated with this new technology, kinda reminds me back in the days when we were using regular video cards and the Monster cards came out....

ran that test as well...and the drive still performed relativity well. with almost no real lost in speed. i filled the 120 gb drive to 110 gb's
i booted windows in 1.45 seconds while loading:
at the same time
26 adobe cs3 modules
8 office 2007 modules
here is a link to me just loading office 2007 8 mod's(loaded in about 4 seconds)

just because people tend to say it's true...does not mean it really it is...you have to get in there and try it your self. everything is a guideline (so to speak) it's your choice to either ad hear to it, play catch up, improvise or improve... -

So I did the restore to wednesday when everything was peachy keen on my laptop....
First thing I notice is this:
If it is indeed my driver getting corrupted could this be the culprit? I have to have this AV program running to get internet in my dorm so removing it is not an option -
ok, so disable it for a bit and test your system...see if it does the same thing. we'll see ya when you get back in a few hours...lol

hopefully this will do it.....the only things that happened that could have gummed it all up is either itunes 9.0 or something with this file protection service
removing itunes now (since the restore killed it anyway) -
yes, but your files & play list are still there. so don't delete them.

If we could mix BatBoy's driver and the Dox 182.46 drivers we would have the ultimate benchmarking driver.

ya all this talk about benchmarks going around....guess I will have to start doing runs on my machine again haha - especially once that new ram comes in
I guess I should be going for 12350+ to play it safe?
I keep having my high gpu and cpu scores in different runs, just a matter of time before they happen together
