    Lmao.....

I like taking pictures. I love gathering materail. I love to see what good basically. I don't like to feel stupid when comfronted and I don't have proof of anything. (I also like to make people feel stupid when they are trying to make me feel dum. Lol) I like to see what computers does in stocked. Tweaked. Overclocked. Bad conditionsz(downclocking it make it slower on purpose.. Ex: cliocking a qx9300 to 2.0ghz like a q900 to see how it stands with more cache.) I I just like gathering information on things. It fun what knowlegde can do. :)

I don't usually use the same settings from run to run so it will vary up to 1K. The trick is the SM2.0 score. Getting a high HDR and CPU score is the easy part.

Wish i knew what i did to score almost 4900 on the CPU with my M17 as that would get your right to 18k. Mine will vary alot from run to run on the CPU end.

scook9, just a curious thought, how much of a difference do you think I'll benefit from going from a q9000 to a qx9300 if I mainly do heavy duty photoshop and video editing? 10% 50% 80% increase?
    Is it worth the upgrade?

    Hey guys,
Does anyone know the percentage difference between Vista and Win7 yet? I ran my test on Vista.

Edit - under oc in the bios it will only let my change fsb? And under CPU unlocked it says not detected???

if you dont have a extreme processor you cant

also Win 7 isn't any % faster then vista it's just faster all around .... it handles resources better .... Won't improve scores and games MUCH but it will a little.

    @ lemon

it depends how much you overclock it .... with the higher cache and it running @ 3+ ghz you will see a noticable increase

Well I tried this and windows wouldnt load and came up with an error saying I had to repair it... now I have to install vista again!

It would help if anyone with my setup can tell me what drivers and tweaks I would need to improve my frame rates in game? Also, what FSB should I be using??

At the moment I am not pleased with the performance to price ratio of the system. I got 20% off my system with a work discount, but it still cost me £2300 which is 3700 USD!!! Then I come here and find that someone with a similar system but with 280M SLI, rather than 260M SLI paid 2100 USD, which is only 1600 GBP! I'm not pleased at ALL! I rang alienware and told them that I'm not pleased and that I want to return the system due to tech issues and general customer service issues.

Can anyone help me with my issues at all? It would help me out greatly! Thanks

The M17x is not a great value outside of the US. The Clevo M980U is a good alternative for the price.

Regarding your issue do you have a RAID setup by any chance?

When trying to OC, if your BIOS would have reset you would have lost the raid setup. Check in your bios to make sure it is still set for raid.

Edit - OK for high fps in games and good for video editing what spec am I looking for? Can I go with a lesser CPU and 280 SLI??
