Is there any way to order the new laptop from Alienware UK to Europe? The UK prices are really lower than rest of the Europe.

When I get to purshase adress the website assume that I am in UK.

 

Nope, AW UK doesn't ship outside U.K., already asked them for France

 

AW will price match if you contact them directly; you can also haggle for a lower price if you don't mind taking the time.

Just entered production.

 

They offered *time-limited* 10% discount on Monday in EU, but they offer 12% today. And I am surprised that they do not have price match here.

 

Anyone owns an account on Alienware Arena and can post some questions for the AMA next monday for me ? Dont want to register just for that.

I got offered the 15 with 1070, 6820hk, 16gb 2667, 256 ssd pcie and fhd screen for <2000usd yesterday, but today they no longer are willing to sell for that price.

the 120hz display for the aw 17 is available now I think or should be in a few hours because it doesnt say coming soon anymore on the promotion page

New 120hz screens are up for both 15 and 17 models. Anyone knows anything about those TN+WVA screens? How are they for day to day work, not gaming?

 

Just saw the 1440p/120hz screen option and had to do deep breathing exercises to not do the guinea pig purchase ... LOL ... hurts but I'm going to have to white knuckle it and wait from some in depth temp analysis' ... can't find anymore laptops with 17" 1440p screens, though and so hope the reviews for the AW17 are good ...

 

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooo. They screwed up the configurations. They got rid of the A15 with the 6820hk, 8gb ram, IPS FHD and no SSD!

 

Configuration is a bit weird but it looks like the 120hz panel is a $300 addition.

 

This is odd, you can't get the i7-6820HK with the gsync version on the 15''. Quick question, how important is the 6820 vs the 6700 ?

 

These configs are insane! I want the model with the 6820 and with ssd and ram options!

Yea I am not seeing any way to get the best cpu and gsync... I think this is a mistake.

Yeah I chatted with my sales rep and its slotted with just the 6700 right now.

 

Dammit we need an official statement of sorts on this. I'm not going to overclock so I'm fine with the 6700 but I would still prefer the 6820 for better future proofing.

 

Its annoying. They only see the configurations on the website and don't consider past or more custom configurations. You ask them for a config that was there a few hours ago and they are clueless.
I was looking for:
i7 6820hk
8gb ram
no ssd
gtx 1070m
killer 1535

Couldn't get that config from them. It was there just 12 hours ago! I was looking to buy it now. But now I am stuck waiting until they reset the configurations.

 

It's likely a config to get inventory moving at a quick rate. The G-Sync option should be a configurable option like the near future, but for now, Alienware wants to get some G-Sync laptops shipped as fast as possible.
Why they chose the i7-6700HQ over the i7-6820HK, I don't know. Also keep in mind the GTX 1060 should work with the G-Sync display too.

 

Why does Dell have to make everything so dang difficult and restrictive? It's like they hate people's business.

Even a stock 1070 will be bottlenecked by the 6700HQ.
