It's a chipset that replaces the Intel Northbridge, Southbridge and GMA 4500.

Stupid question, but did you do a full uninstall of the old drivers? Maybe use ccleaner?

Thanks. Hmm...don't see any samsungs on NewEgg. Trying to figure out if I should go with AW's SSD(s) or get the OCZ Vertex.

Driversweeper works very well for removing any remaining traces of old drivers.

Hmm make sure you download the correct drivers 64bit/32bit, also make sure you have both your GPU's enabled in BIOS before you uninstal/install the new drivers maybe that will help, not sure, and check up on the Nvidia forums for talk about the hybrid drivers, I know some people were having some problems with them, but managed to get em fixed.

ok Vandit...i linked your thread to the M17x sticky.
i would ask that you attach pics to the first post so that those that are not able to access your inline pics and links can see the unit still...

thanks and thanks for the info and posts.

You can't buy the samsung - for oem's only.

you CAN buy the 256gb corsair, which is a re-branded sammy.

hmmm. your having a driver issue with those gpu's. try the one directly from nvidia's website. if driver sweeper doesn't work.

I might have figured it out. I went into the device manager, and clicked on display devices. Unistalled the orignal display drivers from the 280m option. I the rebooted and installed the 185 drivers Don suggested. Messed up screen.

So, went back and let the M17x search for updated driver and installed a VGA driver. I think installing the new driver somehow messed up the VGA driver of the 9400 (which prob starts with vista by default since im not gaming). We'll see if I can get it working.

I'm thinking that dual 280m are already so fast, the bus of 9400m probably can't keep up; as getting three into hybrid may actually reduce the score.

Nice, the new M17x has landed. I just saw the unpacking photos and for some reason it looks better than the press pictures. The 3dmark06 scores look impressive, considering it's stock and it's at 2.53ghz. I'm interested in how far the CPU and GPU can go. If you want, use GPU tool if you want to mildly OC your cards without tampering with the voltage.

Also, if you want to try Vantage, I have a key you could use if you'd like.

you didn't have to do all that.

you could've booted into safe mode and uninstalled all the drivers from there....

haha, but the 9400M essentially acts as the northbridge, so there isn't really a separate lane or bus for the 9400M nor does it participate in 3d SLi.

yes sorry for the trouble. i'm confusing you badly. do this.

make sure the drivers are properly uninstalled

boot into safe mode(when starting the computer press f8 before the "microsoft logo pops up")

use driver sweeper and let it clean out the what you have left.

boot into windows. the screen should blink alittle to install the generic drivers (or a driver that is in vista already)

now install the new driver. since 185.85 is given you problems(it should be that bad) i suggest you try the one from nvidia website 186.03

Just a heads-up, ryujin... he has over 90MB of photos in that first link of his alone (due to the 10MP camera). NBR will only allow me to upload 9.54MB as attachments with the same rep bars as him (not sure if it scales with rep ;) )

So, Vandit, maybe you could re-size your snapshots to 1280 x ~857 (strange aspect ratio on your originals) and attach em or maybe just attach your top picks from the group? Looks like you'd still have to re-size those as only 3 of your raw photos would fit without some "Save for Web..." compression by Photoshop...

Stock drivers, my W90 pulled Vantage GPU = ~9700.

    With 9.4's, it hit ~10.2k

    No OC's, everything stock (QX9300, Xfire 4870's).

i think they hit over 11,000 but that's heavy overclocking. and the record for the 3870's was 9002 on the gpu's by e-wrecked.

my stocked 3870 was i believe 6400 on the gpu's
