damn.. mines still on the way to the carrieri just hope i get mine before end of next week that would be awesome.

Roxy, you are an exception to the rule to be sure, consider yourself lucky (because I would
). Most of them take 10-14 business days to complete from order placement to ship. At least, that seems to be the broad consensus from users on this forum.
-
yes I got my PO#, thats how i was able to get my EDD from the dell site. my order date was 30 oct (AAFES), and it got to dell on the 2nd of nov. i called dell today and talked to cus. service and they're going to try to expedite my order so i get it by the 16th, hoping by the 13th which is a friday. they also switch me to next day delivery for free.
-
It could also depend on how often shipments leave malaysia.. they might only ship once or twice a week in bulk. So people who order closer to shipment vs someone who order earlier and got 6 days added.
But who knows? I just know i want mine
-
what is the max memory that you can upgrade to?
i now have the 4GB Dual Ch. DDR3 at 1066MHz...and does 1333 make that big of a difference..i see allot of ppl here went that way..
and let say later i wanted to buy a 1333 can i still keep my 1066 in or do they all have to be the same? -
congrats, good thing your wife was there in time.
-
I would be more than happy to.
Let's take Crysis as one example. Trying to run Crysis on full high definition will bog any system down. Especially a system with a 260gtx which is equivalent to a 9800 desktop graphics card. If you lower the resolution of said game, you will achieve higher framerates and have a better overall gaming experience. Granted, the 260 is no slouch and can run many games at full resolution, but you will probably have to turn some details off to get a smooth as silk framerate. That is what I meant by it depends on the game. Games such as WOW, City of Heroes/villians, are older and therefore can be run at full resolution. Geez, I feel like I rambled. I hope that helps Roxy. I will be more than happy to try to elaborate a bit more.
Edit: In reference to Grid, if I am not mistaken, it is taking more advantage of the quad cores (similar to GTA IV), which explains why there is great FPS on full definition.
-
Ah I get it ^_^ thanks!
Regarding the pictures... my digicam is out of battery XD so I have to charge it first lol. Oh well. -
Well you almost gave me a seizure by looking at the pictures you posted of your lappy. I was jealous as hell, I want mine now!!! But, it looked more beautiful than I had anticipated.
-
No problem... I was hoping you would not ask for more details, because I was afraid I would ramble more and not make any sense!
-
I dunno about other people, but my vision isn't that great and I prefer it that way because that way I have built in AA, so can't see the jaggies, that gives me a performance boost because I don't even need AA. I'm not sure how the 260GTX m performs with AA ramped up, but surely the performance drop would be pretty steep if too high?
-
You got it, the performance drop would not be too steep, but it definitely would be noticeable. It does not perform as well unless running in SLI. (again, depending on game and overall setup) Now, if you are running a 1600x900 display, then you can pretty much ramp up the AA and the 260 should have no problems at all. If you are running a game with Phys X and AA..that is a different story you will probably have to sacrifice one for the other, unless again, you are running in SLI
I must be studying too much, because I seem to be rambling in my posts. Sorry all!
-
why does eveyone want to play crysis on the M15x with a 260"m" gtx. It is roughly equal to the gts 250 desktop gpu with less cores. Just look up those benchmarks and you see sub 30fps depending on cpu with medium settings.
-
Crysis was just being used as an example. The discussion was more along the lines of what you can and cannot play on high with the 260. I think people primarily use crysis as a benchmark to see how much their rig can take.
-
Ok here are more pictures. I don't know what else to take. Lol.
-
Come on Roxy we need more pics!! I kid, I kid.
Double Kudos for posting those pics! Thanks.
-
i wish i wasnt at work right now, i cant see them T_T
-
Nice Roxy.. lol its always funny people want more pics but how many angles can you really take
But much appreciated hopefully it will tide most of us over for a few more days
Thanks again! -
how was the temperature for GTX260M? i mean under full load......
what about the temperature core Intel Core i7 720QM under full load......
(Something like benchmark or Furmark to stress, if the temperature goes nce, i think im going to order 1) -
On a seperate note.. how is aion running on the system and how do you like the game? I might pick it up once i get my system.. but used to be a wow player and got bored of the whole thing. So im unsure unless i hear a good word from ppl
-
Ummm, earlier when I run everything maxed ( even 8x aa ) it ran just fine. A bit laggy for a bit when it comes to crowded areas such as towns but thats expected. I really like the game - but then again, there are people who don't so I have no idea if you'll end up liking it or not. I have a spare account if you want to play for a bit ( just to see if the game interest you and what not ). I don't mind lending it to you. ( lol and it's not like you can steal the account from me or anything so it's all good )
-
Uh I have no idea what the temperature is when its under full load, but when I'm running photoshop & aion - the temperature goes up to 63 max.
-
thanks for the pictures roxy! you've got me so excited for my M15x now, is that your dorm? if it is, its way nicer than the ones we have.
-
Lol no it's my bedroom. I still live with my parents ^_^;
-
yeah, i do too, but only for a few months out of the year (summer and winter break) when we cant stay on campus.
how is the size of the notebook? bigger than you expected or just about what u expected? im going from an m17 to this M15x, so i hope it's at least a little bit smaller because the m17 was a complete pain to lug to class everyday.
would it be too much to ask for a video review?
i could only find like 2 unboxing videos on youtube, and no reviews
-
Hmm, it's a bit bigger than I thought - and of course... it's quite heavy! lol. ( well compared to my other 15" dell lappy ) but eh, not necessarily bad or anything though.
Hmm... video review... I don't know if I want to do that. * shy *
Anyhow, here's my tiny bedroom... T_T
-
does this notebook come with HDMI port?
-
Sorry to disappoint you...but no.
-
Its a displayport and vga video out.
-
thats a rather, dare i say, cute bedroom?
as for the video review, pleaseeee?
it's not like you have to be kevjumba, just show us around the laptop!
-
it has a Displayport which you can buy a $5-10 adapter and use hdmi.
-
i would like to see the benchmark and also stress the laptop see how hot will it be......
so this laptop dont have HDMI? -
If I put it up on youtube, i think people are going to make fun of me. =P
-
oh please, you're one of the few lucky people that have an all powerful M15x in your possession, no one is going to make fun of you. we'll play nice
-
I could make a video, but I really don't know what to say in the video. & you know how embarrassing it is when you suddenly lose your train of thought ( that happens to me a lot when I try to make video of something ) T_T
Ahhhhh I dont know we'll see... =P -
hey Roxy, i seen the first set of pictures you put up earlier...i was wondering what kind of mouse that was, it matched up pretty good with the m15x. is that a new mouse or did you already have that ?
-
looks like a razer diamondback 3g to me
-
j00 are correct sir ~
& yes this mouse is new ~ I got it to pair it up with the new lappy ~
![[IMG]](images/storyImages/2qlsb2g.jpg)
-
I recognized it because I just sold mine, and now I have a Logitech G9...I like it much more. -
Ah G9... I tried it at frys and I didn't really like it that much. I love my Logitech G5 & Razer Diamondback <3
-
is the diamonback 3g and the logitech g9 bluetooth enabled ?
-
I believe the G9 is connected via usb port. It is a wired mouse.
-
correct, and i picked mine up on some website for $50 shipped (brand new)
lets get back to the topic at hand though...M15X -
@ roxy, does your g5 and diamondback connect via usb port as well ?.... i cant remember from the earlier pictures if it had a wire or not, and im at work now, so i cant see them.
-
Yes both connect via usb port :] -
@ kevblah,... im currently in the process of trying to find a good mouse for my m15x, so id say im not to far off topic. but thanks anyway
-
oh im as guilty as anyone for encouraging that mouse discussion, i wasnt pointing fingers at anyone. i just didnt want to clutter this M15x thread and have to have it closed for a part 3. sorry if it seemed that way.
-
@vek....I'd suggest the G9 laser mouse....especially if you have larger hands. I have tried it myself in a mall and I must say it is very responsive.
-
really? my first reaction when i switched from the diamondback to the g9 is that the g9 is a much smaller mouse. ive gotten used to it since then but i dont know if its necessarily a good mouse for someone with large hands
