The one I tried has the larger shell. There are two shells with the G9.

To each his own I believe. Maybe it'd be best if our friend vek would try out the mice first and see which suits him best.

my own mouse is a razer deathadder. Got it for my first m15x and it's been amazing.. so comfortale and very stylish. Very accurate also.

@ Roxy: I actually like kevblah's idea of making a video too. Although I dont mean for you to be in it necessarily (no offense! lol) but rather to circle the laptop and record it beng opened and closed with closeups on the hinge (lol my own is so bad and it always was) and maybe you could bring the mic close to the fan ports so we can hear how quiet it is idling and at max load... stuff like that. No need to say anything or get into the video if you're shy... what i really want to see is more footage of it and an encircling view. it gives it a lot more dimension than static pictures (which by the way have been great! not dissing them at all :) ).

Just my two cents... i'm sure everyone else would enjoy that too!

I believe all bluetooth mice have batteries. This is to emit the signal to the laptop. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hold on Vek you got your laptop already or are you just buying a mouse ahead?

    Hamsters are good mouses :D

    JK

Personally I'm getting the Logitech Anywhere Mouse. Once I plug it in the USB never again have to worry about it because the receiver is tiny.

How's your order status btw Vek? Got a PO#?

I don't know whether to hate or love this thread. It has most of the info I could ever want but it makes me feel so jealous...I can't even get a default M15x unless I get top 5 in my year group and then I have to argue with my Dad to get the upgrades (SSD etc) I want...

I purchased a display port to hdmi adpater. Then I used an hdmi cable to go from there to my Television. I cannot get any sound from the television. I tried all kinds of settings but could not get it to work. Also, while the picture looks really good, it cuts of the screen so my desktop icons and partially hidden and my bottom tool bar is mostly hidden. When I ope up a progroam such as expoler, the top part of the bar is hidden in the top of the screen. So all in all I am somewhat disappointed in this computer because it does not do what I thought it would do, at least very well.

The 1920x1080 looks great except the programs I use such as Pokerstars does not fill the screen like my desktop did and the words are so small.I played with diferrent resolutions but they look crappy and over-fill the screen.

Hey, it was the same on my TV. I never got the sound working but I did fix the picture size. For me it was a setting on the TV changing the screen size from "16:9" to "Just Scan".

i also just noticed a setting in the nvidia control panel

    manage 3d settings>
    power management mode>

mine is set to adaptive by default. maybe anyone with gaming issues can try setting this to "prefer maximum performance" and see if it helps.

    Hi guys!

I am newbie here, but I've been reading most of this forum from part 1 to part 2. My M15X was already delivered to my sister's home since I am still working outside USA.

I remember my printed order also doesn't include the bluetooth mini card which I supposed it should be a default package base on Tech Specs of M15X
and it was not included in the customization by the time I customized mine last October 19, 2009 to be exact.

Now, my sister told me that in the control panel and device manager Bluetooth was not found.

To all those who are with the same situation like me, give us your comment please!

Hey ashvin88 do you M15X comes with BT?

    Thanks!

Ryuken, someone posted that if you download the Bluetooth driver, it seems to work but yet does not show the bluetooth adapter. Do you have a bluetooth enabled device to see if it works? Would love to know, this is starting to get concerning for me, especially since I need bluetooth. oh, and congrats on your system!! :D

Edit: Hey Hawkeye, did your m15x come with bluetooth?

i spoke to dell tech support on telephone about this in uk and he said he would get back to me after he finds out i got an e-mail yesterday saying that it has been checked by a tech guy and he had video and sound he says you have to go in sound control panel and make sure your output sound is put to the displayport i don't know if you have tried this if so i'm gonna be dissapointed to if it does not work as i was going to use it to watch blueray movies on my tv

    Thanks Bubbamel!

The problem is I'm only guiding my sister to check everything and I know that there is no BT icon touch button to activate it(If there is what button?)
I think when you touch the wifi touchpad, both WIFI and BT will be activated.
I'm not sure of it. So where can we verify if BT is installed?
I also asked my sister to type on the window search the word "bluetooth"
and 0 search found. I will try again to check of the Device Manager to do " Scan for hardware changes if BT will pops-up. If not, better to install the driver and lets see how it works.

wooooo hoooooo!! Just received mine. First thoughts are very solid and sturdy design. Slightly larger than I expected, but I have been using a NC10 for 3 months so that was to be expected. Keyboard is awesome, and the lights are alot brighter than I thought they would be, and it is midday here.

On a side not, I have BT in my device manager and it works fine, but I am in the UK.

I'm off to play, and questions I am around all day so fire away.

I cancelled and re-ordered, but my re order date was 23/10/09 so 12 days minus weekends was my time frame. It was in production for a long time, so as painful as it is waiting, it isn't anything too out of the ordinary (unfortunately).

So. I just talked to dell about my problems (Dead pixel, Command center nok working even after two formats, And laggy Touchpad + keyboard).
And they told me they couldnt do nothing about it. What a wonderfull thing to tell me after waiting in the queue for more than 1 hour...

Ah that makes sense. I used the EPP to get a discount on mine and could have had my employer finance it as well. That would have added about 2 to 3 weeks to the delivery and I'm already feeling like Gollum waiting for his precious - there's no way in hell I could have added a few weeks to this process. It's killing me.

You know, the strangest part of the whole order/waiting game is the complete lack of energy you find once the order is placed. I mean I have to do on my current notebook, and it's up to the task, but I just don't want to. I want to get DragonAge and start playing, but I don't want to install on my existing notebook - I want my new one.

I have an article to write by this weekend as well, but I really really don't want to even touch my notebook now there's an M15X on the way.

    Blah.

@ froogle,... i got a really good deal through AAFES (1910). i know what you mean about not wanting to do anything on your old laptop, but at least you can do something on it. i have a clevo D900T 17incher thats busted right now, thats what led me to look into getting the m15x.

if i had something to play games on i'd be satisfied, as the time goes by much slower when you dont, please believe. im currently on my desktop which compaq ice age version. (ice age version = really old) but im not complaining or anything.

Now was this technical service, or customer service? If one, does not help, call the other. They usually do not just say sorry, we cannot do anything. Have it escalated to a supervisor. Do not take no for an answer.
