I got transfered back and fourth for like 30 min until i landed at this "Technical support" Guy. He told me that the screen needed ATLEAST 5 dead pixels before they would do anything, and that it didnt matter that it was like that from the start. He also said that it was my mestake that the Command center didnt work. Even though when i first turned on the computer (FOR THE FIRST TIME) it didnt work.
I tried to not take no for an answer but he was really sure in his case...

I think it's really bad service that when u get a product that doesnt work. They don't do SH#T about it...

Reading through it seems there are a few issues with upgrading to W7 straight away, might not bother for a while as I don't seem to be having any issues so far.

    I <3 my M15x

ive already had my screen replaced once withon 4 days of ownership over a bit of trash behind the screen. the replacement screen(refurbished on the box) has a dead pixel. i just got off the phone requesting a full replacement and am awaiting a return call. if they don't want to replace the entire thing ill just return it.

Call customer service and escalate it to the resolutions department. Tell them your dissatisfaction. Two things may happen, they will contact someone from tech support who will help you, or they will set up a return/exchange for you. Well, that has been my experience anyway. Good luck with that though. That really stinks. :(

Edit: Thanks Hawkeye... that is what I was afraid of. I need the bluetooth, and this is starting to become problematic for me.

You rock dude, it works! In control panel sound options there is Display Port sitting along side the speakers and headphones. I'd found this setting before but didn't think to make display port the default audio device. When you unplug the TV you have to set the audio back to your speakers but still I'm stoked that it's working :D

Based on the description, I don't think you need to have the actual HDMI cable anymore since it is male to male.

if you buy an adaptor you will also need a cable
but if you opt for a displayport to hdmi cable you will not need an adaptor

ok. update on my screen fiasco.

i called and tried the polite"please send me a new unit because its a week old and already been fixed once." didn't work. they wanted to put a third lcd in. i doth protest sir.

called back and asked to return it and now there's a new laptop coming. ill post pics of the pair dancing together before i send the original back :D

tyvm. it was basically to give folks perspective on the size of the M15x in relation to the rest.

@ApoNonno, nice... my alien lands today too.

Can someone slap all the links together for all working drivers to make it easier for the rest? That would be a life saver.

If not i'm sure I'll have time this weekend to do it since I'll be stuck trying to get everything to work... assuming its not working by default.

Well some are saying the Bluetooth drivers need to be updated for the card to work and from what I understand there are other problems with the alien fx and alien sense. I could be wrong but I haven't heard anybody with win7 installed without any problems.

I have a question - is it normal to get 11,002 3dmark06 score for my M15x? I don't really know much about the scores... I just did it for the heck of it.

Darn... Dell really hate me. To recap my UK ordering issues:

    - I ordered two machines (Black for me, Red for the Wife) late September
    - 1 week into the order they pushed back delivery date
    - 2 weeks into the order they pushed back delivery date
    - 3 weeks into the order they pushed back delivery date yet again
    - Just before the one month anniversary of ordering my laptops, I checked the order status online and found that my order had been cancelled. No notification or anything.
    - I sent 5 emails over five days and had to call four times to find out why my order had been cancelled. Eventually I was told that there was a “software problem” and my order had been reinstated and I would receive a 100 GBP refund
    - Two weeks ago I received notification that my order was being built!
    - Last week I received a notification that my order is due to ship on the 5th Nov.

Today I receive an invoice with my order. The invoice is actually different to the original order. Both machines are Nebula Red, definitely not what I ordered and I went back through all my documentation to confirm it. I also thought I’d check to see if they refunded my 100 GBP. It turned out that they have not, BUT they had debited another 3,600 GBP (three weeks ago).

It’s been almost 7 weeks since I ordered and my laptops have yet to show up. Dell have double charged me and taken over 7,000 GBP out of my account. Assuming my laptops do arrive, they are both Red chassis, not what I ordered. So I am pretty annoyed. Based on my experiences, I would never recommend Dell to anyone.

That is about normal for the M15x. Do you happen to know the resolution that 3dmark ran at?

My wife has been pretty supportive as well, especially since I have been so indecisive about my purchases. She just keeps on saying, don't you dare pay more. I just nod. :p :D

@Redback sorry to hear that. Have your issue escalated to resolutions/escalation department. I am sure they can help you to some capacity. :(

You should be able to access the Bios by hitting f2 ( I believe) when you boot your laptop, it should tell you the version there. Do not change anything if you are not familiar with the bios!! (had to put in that disclaimer..hehe) :D

when the laptop first boots up there is a screen that says press F(something, i forget) to enter the bios. do this and on the main page it will show the bios version.
