Either you're unlucky, or I'm lucky on my unit. I had to decrease the sensitivity by a good margin with stock drivers; I could probably have breathed on the touchpad and it would register a click, lol.

I gotta go with green, although all the colors make it look really cool. I find it funny that they have a black option on the color palette rather than an "off" feature, lol.

First up, did you get it resolved? The thing that sprung to my mind, other than the obvious things everyone else suggested about drivers etc, was Are you absolutely certain you're not in stealth mode? I thought mine wasn't, but it was. The light will be half lit if you are NOT in stealth mode. If you've already checked that then I apologize.

Also, given your copious experience building your own machines, presumably you've already gone into the bios and checked the processor settings? It might even be worth disabling speedstep to see what's going on.

Finally, I realize you're upset and dissapointed, but was it really necessary to come in here and hurl insults and accusations about people "gloating" and spouting "BS" about their machines? Looking through the last 100 or so pages, you appear to be in a tiny minority of people with performance problems, so maybe you just got a bad machine? Call up Tech Support and exercise the warranty.

My choices are wait for them to try tomorrow (and probably not buzz my apt again) or drive 45 min across the city to the airport sorting facility tonight at 6:30.

Guess which i picked :p Must have today lol.

Sorry to disappoint, GTA 4 seems to have issues with the i7 and the frame rate keeps dropping to unplayable levels. Some people say the problem stops if you turn off Turbo in the bios but this didn't work for me. It's the only game I've heard of so far that the M15x has trouble with.

I just finished unboxing my m15x, installing Nortons, and updating Windows 7. So far, I'm a satisfied customer. :D And this is definitely a must have for those contemplating the purchase.

Think I'm still gonna stick with blue as the color scheme for now. I might mix it with red later on. As for games and what-not, I might purchase Modern Warfare 2 tomorrow or just wait and get Left for Dead 2 next week.

Btw, can someone tell me how to get out of stealth mode? I think the subject has been touched on in the thread. If so, my apologies. Just asking for a little help here.

I saw the 1600x900 screen in person and its a beauty ... Im pretty picky when it comes to screens :D .. The text size was perfect being its a smaller screen so i think you will be plenty happy when the time comes.. Also if your gaming your framerates will be much better at the native 16x9 resolution which is always a plus :)..

Lol not trying to do that even though i thought it might do just that to people waiting or people who already have there machine :)..

Bottom line though is that lower native res is going make the machine last longer gaming at native res.. Plenty of games though will still run great at 1920x1080 but it being a single card rig means its going to struggle abit in the more intensive games etc etc you know the rest im sure...

yeah, its okay. i don't ever plan to play games on my M15x on the laptop lcd anyways. my laptop is always hooked up to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse and the only time its not is when i bring it to class to take notes with.

oh, and i want to see what all of your opinions are on 6GB of 1333Mhz RAM for the M15x. My current build has 4GB of 1066Mhz ram and i just want to see if it would be worth upgrading to 6GB of 1333Mhz ram if i could get a good deal on it. I rarely use any memory intensive applications, but i just like to have a powerful computer :D

Well for your situation then your all set :)..

As for 6gigs of RAM, be it 1066 or 1333, unless you have some specific reason in mind i would never waste the cash on it .. Atleast not until the 4gig dim prices drop significantly ... Now if your loaded with $$ then sure why not :D..

Geez I know that you're frustrated and all, but it's pretty messed up to say that these people were BS'ing about how fast their comps are... because frankly, it is true that M15x is ' fast ' and my comp can run all the games I play on max setting smoothly. I think its just your comp that has problems, sheesh.

Thanks Smeggit for that kindly info.
Today I checked again my M15X. running the same thing WIFI with skype,IE8,remote connection in high performance and about 1 1/2 hours plugged on AC but still I got reading from core0/core1 57c and core2/core3 at 60c.
I am now much more worried if I need to pay attention with my M15X temp issue because for me, based on the inputs we had here in the forum that idle time temp must be at least below 50c.Don't you think guys?

    More inputs please! :)

If the part(s) aren't backordered, it shouldnt take long for you to receive your lappy. It's possible for you to receive it much sooner than the EDD.

    You live in USA?

With those experiencing dropouts on their networks... what routers do you have? I believe I have read some issues with the Intel 5300 and some routers. Let me see if I can find the article. Then maybe we need to see if some router's firmwares need to be updated. :D
