It's the Army Air Force Exchange Service.

 

If the AAFES model stated 2GB then, yes it has to be 1GB x 2.

The normal Dell.com model has 3GB standard (2GBx1 and 1GBx1).

 

Ah okay yeah something I can't use haha, strange that an option for just 2gb is available for the Army, Army stuff only requires 2gb ram?

 

All fixed now but lost a few days for deliver. Now ETA 10/30!

 

Sleey0 do you check your order status every day? I'm just wondering if they just went into boxing yesterday morning or if we just noticed.

 

I know I got an email yesterday morning from my customer service rep who checks for me everyday. I think they just went into boxing Uro.

OH i will have lots of pics up, as this is the first computer i've boughten new, and not built..

So it will be nice to not have to wait on parts to come then wait to find the time to assemble.

But this whole paying $1,800 then waiting a month blows

 

Mines is in boxing too........ But I refuse to think they will hold on to it and take 27 days to ship it out .... That's just crazy ....I paid for next day

i have placed my order on 9/26, and on that day my money in my bank account is put on hold, but today i found my money is back to my account and i just dialed this step (thx to bubbamel)

1)Call 800-283-2210 = this is the DPA phone number so don't get worried

2)Follow prompt #3

3)Now, select business/epp selection #2

4)Track order option #1

5)Then do it again - track order option #1

and it said my order is in the boxing state, i really confused, is this normal that dell return the money before they ship the laptop?

 

Dell doesn't charge until it ships. All they did initially was put a hold on the funds (basically making sure your method of payment is valid and has enough to cover the cost of the system).

It takes about 4 days to go from boxing --> shipped. I am thinking Monday or Tuesday we will get them

I cannot take the credit..its all because of Sleey0! Also, welcome to the forums rvanzzz! As Sleey0 stated, your funds are taken as a pre-athorization that is reutrned to you. Just make sure you have the funds there once your laptop is ready to ship!

What method did yall pick for shipping ? standard?

 

For the batters the 6 cell and the 9 cell does the 9 cell stick out? Only curious because I know that in the Asus version it sticks out in the back.

 

We were both given overnight by our EPP (employee purchase program) sales agents. Usually an extra perk they throw in if you ask nicely.

 

It doesn't stick out per say... it comes down a bit and lifts the laptop off the surface for better airflow. I hope I explained that correctly.


Edit: At least that is what I have been reading. hehe.

 

The 9 cell doesn't stick out the back, it lifts the back of the laptop up though.

If they ship tomarrow and you got the next day shipping maybe some of us close to Dell could get it sat. Isn't there east coast factory in tenn. ? I can't remember what the shipping I really got I know it was the highest one available

 

Not really. Dell typically sends out next business day, and they will not deliver it on a Saturday. Now, if you ordered ground and it shipped on Tues/Wed, then yes, you could get your shipment on Saturday since Fed Ex Home ships on Saturday and not Monday. Crazy huh?

 

They get packed and finally shipped from Texas I believe. That is where they get the hat mousepad manual etc

If you are on the east coast, then it comes from ECFC in Nashville, TN.

West coast gets it from Reno, NV.

Next Business Day shipping - delivery times are Mon- Fri.
Ground - delivery times are Tues - Sat.

A note on Sat delivery. AFAIK it costs extra to deliver on Sat unless FedEx changed policy (used to work Shipping/Receiving and we had our own FedEx computer). Unless is Dell is feeling generous, I wouldn't count on Saturday delivery.

There are only 2 points laptops come from in the US.

Dell uses Fedex Home Delivery for ground shipments. The schedule for that service is Tues - Sat standard (check fedex.com if you want). It only costs extra for a service that Sat isn't a standard delivery time (such as Next Day).

I'm confused, sorry. I ordered my m15x on 9/25/09, it still says in Production, but the Estimated Date is 01/01/0001. It makes no sense. Has anybodys shipped yet? Also if it did or if you recieved it can you please tell me when you ordered it? Thanks, and also what does Boxing mean? I've saw it brought up a couple times in this topic, sorry for the annoying question.

 

From what I understand boxing is the stage where it's packed be sent to the respected areas then shipped to you as for the date thing idk

 

Well mine has been shipped. I called to get the tracking number and it said that it shipped on 9/23/09! Whatever

As cool as this is it really sucks. I'm on a business trip and won't be home until a week from now.

 

Mine shipped as well. Which must mean that anyone that was in boxing should have shipped also. Great news Sleey... now we wait through the weekend! *sigh*

Edit:... wow.. the weight of the box is 18lbs. Oh boy, now the 9lbs is concerning me. I guess we will see when I get it.

Here is what the headset anyone who ordered the M15x the last few days will be getting. Just got mine today. Once i get my lappy I will do a review on them. I am no audiophile, I will just tell you what I think of them.


Edit: Now that I look at that pic, it kind of look like War's avatar...hehe.

 

Those are nice. Would have bought them if they weren't $70. I'm no audiophile myself. Are they "leathery" in the ear part?

 

No they are more of your typical mesh/foam padding no leather/faux leather. These look very similar to the Steelseries. The black is nice and will go awesome with the laptop!
