your current driver should be fine and is recommended, it just certain games works better on different drivers, for me 186.47 was a little buggy on my system, so i went with 195.62. i get lower fps but it got rid of a few glitches i was having. i haven't had time to test out the other drivers yet but if i find something i'll keep you guys posted.

Tell them it is very important for you to get your laptop on time for a 'business presentation' a few days before your expected date of arrival. You will have to cancel your order it is that important. My rep told me it is some sort of law they have to follow to put the ETA date up and it usually always arrives earlier than that but by law they have to state that buffer time. As you can see from my previous post above I tried my hardest to get some free stuff

Can we overclock the 260 M using ntune? Anybody try and if we wanted to in the future will our motherboard support DDR5 360 chipset so we can use DX11?

Using 186.47 Far Cry 2 was unplayable (<10fps), even with everything turned down including resolution. Very bizarre. Magically with 192.67 WHQL it flies at native resolutions.

By the way InappropriateName_3, the Australasia Dell folk tell me there's no free DP->HDMI converter in local M15x packages. I'm waiting on them to tell me if there's one in the AW2210 box. Very sad, two current AW products don't play together without third party hardware.

My order had gotten kind of messed up. Like I ordered OnLine. Then that got cansled. Then I called to get that UnCanseled but it never really did even though the laddy on the phone told me she got it to go through.

Then I called on the phone to the # InappropriateName_3 gave me (Thanks again I gave you a Rep Point but it is not showing...) I got a New Good Deal order put through with all that good stuff at a cheaper price.

Then that New Good Deal order got removed from my account and Yet An Even NEWer order got made to my account. This newest one had all the same stuff and the OnLine one that is still Canceled except it had Free Shipping.

So, I had to call today and got that Newest one Canceled and confirmed the Oldest OnLine one was Still canceled. Then had the Good Deal Order confirmed as "All Good" "Paid" and "In Production" 2/12/2010.

Now the dell.com web site has both the Old OnLine order as Canceled as well as the Newest one Canceled. However, it still doesn't show the Good Deal order at all. BUT, when I click the link in the email it DOES bring me to a Dell.com web page that shows my Good Deal Order as "In Production" ETA 2/12/2010

So, in conclusion I think everything is A-OK with my order BUT I would advise not to mess with your order to much. Things can get out of hand vary fast.

Wow that sucks, free for some and not for others. I would complain about it, nag them untill they gave you. If you cant find one let me know, i have a spare one that i use at work. But i'm sure they would send you one if you bug them enough.

Is the power button on the m15x touch sensitive too like the area51 model? or is it just an ordinary push in button? I can't seem to find any up close and detailed videos showing off all the neat stuff

I did a bit of trolling....I LOLed at ferrari vs pinto. IMO, Id be happy with either. All around me, people have old laptops, or new acers, apple thinnies, gateways, and supermarket lappies. I honestly feel anyone who can pack as much power in a laptop, whether asus or AW, should be proud that they can own such a machine. And to those saying one breaks more than the other...come on! No machine is perfect (except a bmw M3), so it is inevitable that any laptop will have issues! Whats important is the customer service and how quickly your issues get resolved.

In all, I call for mutual respect between asus and AW owners because we are all fortunate people to own such amazing machines.

Does anyone know what it means when the Alienhead (power button) is alternating colors as opposed to being a solid color. The laptop is plugged into AC so it should be solid green.

Were you running on battery at all prior to going back to AC? Typically, this means its charging the battery. :)

running bad company 2 on my M15x with 1600x900 is a dissapointment..

at 1x AA and high settings, it runs terrible..

after a night of overclocking i got it to run at medium ... arghhhhh hopefully it gets better once its out of beta, who knows..

Corrupt05, try different drivers, it does affect FPS for different games. Crysis couldnt run well on one driver, but kick in other driver, so dont give up if you havent tried different drivers for your GPU.

nope, just flashed to 1V 3d, then set clocks with rivatuner, but I'm about to edit the bios so then ill flash it to 675/1675/1100 1v ... which is very stable so far with furmark and several hours of BC2... If you want I could post the bios so all you have to do is flash it(instructions on flashing is in joker's throttling thread)...

only thing I would suggest after flashing is running furmark to stress it for a few hours to see if its stable, and then run gpu-z to confirm the clocks and to see if it throttles (which it shouldnt when its flashed to 1V)

I have, first I had the official latest nvidia, then switched to latest beta which made no diff .. It's the GTX 260m that's not upto the task, right now im running it at medium 1600x900 with my overclock it runs perfect... just dont expect to run it at high .. or with any AA on..

Speak for yourself! Put everything to high except shadows and effects (medium) then turned the last option (its a 4 letter abbreviation) to off instead of on. I have a the increased screen res and this game ran beautifully on mine. Not to mention I havent OCed my GPU.

You need to turn off HBAO. When I first started playing that's what caused me to get low FPS. I also turned down effects and shadows to medium just to get absolutely no fps issues at all.

But yeah, BC2 has already brought back a lot of good memories about BF2... Nothing like seeing an apache helicopter spinning out of control and crashing 10 feet in front of you while you're trying to snipe that mofo who just happened to line up perfectly in your sights :D.

Maxed out the recon kit and ruined my stats going for the assault XD

it not a program or anything its just pictures that replaces the old ones. if you did it right it should just ask you if you want to replace the existing ones. this mod does not affect system performance of any kind.
