I work on the oil production part of it. The rig work is to hard. We make more money for less work and only work half the year ( more if you want). We work for either 7 days or 14 days at a time , then off of work for 7 or 14 days at a time. Make an average of 90 hours a week with all food paid and sometimes they even have people to clean up after you and wash your clothes.

Thnx Joker, the thing is I have my own external display which is just fine so was thinking of getting the stock one and upgrade later to LED.
What do u think of the cpu? Is it enough to start with? or you would choose the i7 820qm?

Upgrading later to the RGB LED will cost you an arm and a leg and maybe a few toes. Go with either i720 or all out with an i920.

50% of this refresh IS the RGBLED, IMO.

I wouldn't order it any other way...

They declare the product's value to the UK customs to what ever you ask for :D

so you could get away with only having to pay $50 tax instead of $900

edit: not sure if i should be saying that on the forums! :p

$130 for next day and $50 for 3-5 days i think.

All the tax you need to pay is the VAT.

And nope, i havent received mine yet, but i reckon i should sometime this week or early next week at the latest

That new lid design looks pretty nice. It's not quite the garish design of previous ribbed design lids. The white would be pretty hot.

I wouldn't rely on this pic too much, but you might be right. Before the M17X-r1 both Alienware and Dell were always behind in terms of implementing the new tech. Remember how long did it take for them to move to Montevina (the reason why I skipped the previous 17" alien)

Look at the second picture again. It doesn't have the M17x lcd listed as either led or rgb led. So i'm guessing this has nothing to do with the release of the 5870's

thats because the transition to AW to Dell held it back AND they did transition. It was with the 840Di the little brother of the 850Di otherwise known as the M17x ;).

Since I'm new to Crossfire, I've got a question for you guys that have used it with the R1: Do I have to manually configure a profile for each game or is it auto detected? Also, if a game isn't listed in the pre-programmed profiles, can I manually add it in or do I have to wait on ATi to get around to it?

So far i NEVER had a game that didn't use crossfire when i had my M17.

There are no profiles that i know of like the Nvidia control panel. Its all handled by the CCC program much like Nvidia control panel but the CCC plays a bigger role in the process.

So no you will not have to set up new profiles to the best of my knowledge which is subject to change at anytime

ATI is a month to month driver service which in some cases will release a hotfix, but that is very rare for the driver to need one. They are usually very well coded as far as the newest games and Xfire profiles

She has a cooking class with the kids and since she pays money for it she doesn't want to cancel. She also goes to open gym with the kids and that's free so she might skip it. We already have plans to go out Saturday to a musical so the bribe won't help.
