Hi guys, I just made my order,
i7 820qm, Dual ati cards in xfire, 2x320gb in raid 0 and the rest is stock.
I hope this beast stands to its reputation.
God bless all...

.
Since I use my external display ( Samsung T240 ) which will provide me with everything I will need for the moment, I thought to go with the stock display instead of wasting another £80 on ccfl display.
I hope I can order the upgrade later if they offer it again. -
The upgrade is gonna cost you a fortune.
-
. I just hope to see the RGB LED provided online agian in the next weeks but according to my rep its just been called off and they will not offer it anymore in the UK. Man UK site sucks
-
Your rep lied to you so he could make a commission.

in architecture major, so i'll do the gpu upgrade in a year or so, what do you guys think? and helpful comments? i want to order really soon. -
-
it sounds like a good idea, and the price is the same, but are you sure about the warranty upgrade? because i've asked the rep that upgrading from 1 year basic to 3 year advanced warranty after like 10 months would be more expensive than if i buy the 3 year advanced now. but i understand that you're saying getting 1 year advanced and then before it expires buy another 2 years and it'll be the same price? can anyone confirm this?

i had an online chat with a sales rep and indeed they stopped it... any way have mailed my rep regarding this and hopefully he will sort it out... else i will wait untill it is back... wont get it with the ccfl screen any way...

They dont care about Europe- simples. One of the reasons Im now Clevo.
-
No offence to my brothers in Europe, but they love US costumers. I just landed a monstrous deal. Lol. I'll post details in a bit. I'm still on the line.
Edit: This could be a record. Lol. -

, I can't get a deal yet

Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
An M1730 owner with 8700 SLi ended up with a fully maxed R2 - extreme i7 and crossfire radeons for a replacement. I think that's a record in its own right. But congratulations, WaR.

You may not like RGBLED, but I guarantee you won't like the CCFL on it either. -
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
hey guys i am downloading vantage to see how it runs on the r2 give me couple min.
-
Can we PLEASE get some detailed comments, pics, etc of the RGBLED?
Pretty Please? -
May be lack of RGB is a good thing For now coz I have another reason to wait till march for ATI 5870 to come out. TBH A STRONG REASON IT IS. Coz I can't take it with Ccfl.

-
Witcher, can you test for throttling on it? See if it has it like the M15x.

so no one's waiting another month for 5870s? I personally think it's happening in March CeBIT 2010
-
Nope, if I really need the 5870s, I'll sell the 4870s for $1000 on eBay and grab the 5870s from Dell. Remember, this isn't some Asus, we're not stuck with 1 non-upgradeable card. -
i'm thinking grab it now already
you are all tempting me now
-
How easy is it to switch display output on the Aleinwares? I know on my Dells you can hit Fn F8 to cycle through the connected display options.
-
In windows 7 you can just hit Winkey+p and switch displays through the menu there.
-
There won't be much of a market for the 4870's considering mostly everyone will have them. -
There's always a market for them. -
Ha! I made it to the M17x-R2! And, without any details, it practically didn't cost me a thing. Of course, my R1 must disappear.
I knew my MBA would be good for something. I negotiated my way to an R2 just like Nomad negotiates his way through the mothership in Crysis
Edit: OK, finally managed to write down my specs. It's not a monster but:
Dual 4870
RGB LED
720QM
1 TB
The kick of it is that a co-worker bought my R1 with 4870's for over $2000 today. With this new order it cancelled out. But not only that, in the end I managed to make a little over $100 in net profit for me. Beat that Sleey0
I am so relieved. Thank you stuttering. Also, I would post my invoice but I will hold on until I have the system in my hands first. Lol. -
You haven't posted how much you are actually paying Dell.
-
I don't know right now exactly but it comes to about $1975 or so before tax. I guess that's how much they are getting from me in the end. I like to think it was analogous to a swap to an R2.
-
Well, that IS a very good deal.
My discount comes close, but about $125 difference. -
depends what your getting
-
I'm learning from your bad ways. You are a very bad influence. At some point I will catch up to you
-
ROTFLMAO!
Well, congrats on the system and I am sure you'll love it -
Very nice. I found a very generous agent and got an excellent price on mine tooPaid $3100 (before tax) for the system in my sig. If I hadn't gone with a 920xm or 3 yrs warranty it would've been substantially cheaper.
-
Geez Joker, I think I am going to hire you to negotiate my next computer purchase. That sounds like a good deal for what your getting.
-
Ok I'm home. No light bleed on the screen that I can see so far.
-
Screen is 300 nits. I compared it to my wife's Sony FW. It's just as bright with better colors.
