Eyeballing it next to a known 300 nit screen. I took a pic of it and the picture is dim because my camera is auto-dimming because it's so bright. The screen is clearly better and illumination is VERY even.

This is funny. Look how dark the pic is because my camera auto adjusted the brightness.

Anyone who has gotten theirs know what version the Command Center is? Downloading drivers now for a clean install and Dell still hasn't put the CC up under the R2 downloads yet.

The M11x will have a newer GUI for command center, maybe the R2 does as well

I would think if this next BIOS / Driver update does not fix the issues than it should be possible.

Funny thing with Dell, is what you get or don't get from them is really dependant upon your rep

I paid $ 4500.00 for my R1 and still updated the CPU to the QX9300 afterwards.

I still have the stock Q9000 just in case.

So you ordered your R2 with 4GB 1066MHz Memory from DELL and replaced it with HyperX memory (and with which HyperX memory exactly)? What's better in HyperX than in Dell's ?

    Thanks!

    It still a $ 2k base price.

I may try calling my next purchase in, and see if I can get a discount as many have reported here

The RGB LED is the entire reason I got the M17x-R2 and got rid of my M15x. The performance of the M15x was more than enough for me so the xfire is just a bonus.

Based on what you and Witcher said about the screen ( he went on about how amazing it was on phone more then once today :D) i have 0 doubt i wont enjoy it ... The screen on a laptop is everything to me and if im not enjoying that then no matter how fast or how many features the machine has i will never be happy period...

Im waiting to join the club.

The manager whos authorised my replacement is away all week, un fortunately the guy who enters them onto the system won't do it with out a direct authorisation from him.

The email of the agreed specification wont do it.

Glad you guys are receiving your systems but its a hard wait!

Can you overclock the 720? I know that you can only over clock the core 2 CPU's using the multipliers if they were the extreme edditions.

other wise they were over clocked using FSB

not sure how the i7 mobile CPU's work?

if your R1 was dead and broken, who knows they may well replace it with an R2.

The M1730 is EOL so they had to replace it with something.

I do know a guy who was actually given a XPS16 in exchange for a M1730...and Dell refused to do any better.
