sounds like the panel is a no go
For GPU stressing guys have any of you tried OCCT GPUtests?

weird....that is a different furmark then I have. I am using 1.6.5
Ran a test for you all and the version I have is stressing both GPUs.....the dips in GPU load for the middle GPU-Z windows is when I switched it to window mode it seems to go to single GPU, but when FurMark is fullscreen, both GPUs are definitely being usedAttached Files:

Scook, you have AI enabled right?
After reading Luigo's post above I remembered that I disabled AI because I was missing textures in Borderlands with it enabled, once I disabled AI Borderlands ran perfect, no more missing textures, I found that solution via Google...
So, I enabled AI and ran FurMark again, both cards ran nearly identical as they should. I just played Mass Effect 2 for a couple of minutes and it runs perfect with AI enabled and I can tell both vid cards firing fine since I feel an even slight warming over they keyboard, unlike before, left side warm, right side cool. I guess I will have to adjust AI as needed with different games, but glad to find out CrossFire working correctly with AI enabled... -

Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
Any update from joker and the AW team regarding the issues he mentioned? I thought today is the day for the update onj those issues.

mee mee mee mee meep!

This info is important to me, my current laptop is giving off a foul burning odor from the screen and flickering sometimes, I need some good news.
-
Yeah, we're all pretty damn interested to know what shakes out of their little hands-on time with Joker's notebook.

I can't unplug the charger to even move my R2 or it freezes. On top of that if the computer goes to sleep, it never wakes up.
-
I don't think my notebook will be ready today. As for the update regarding the fix, I think nagshead will be letting you guys know as soon as more information becomes available.
-
WOW...just...uh wow.....that is not good and I would be RMA'ing that asap, just my opinion. It sounds like that is hardware causing the prob. -
Just a suggestion guys, as I recall, joker reported problems with flickering/ stuttering and psu unplugging freezes. If you guys have any other kind of problems ( and having your screen smell like gas is a BIG one) I would suggest you to stop waiting for Jokers reply and start calling alienware support.
On a side note, I am getting mine tomorrow, and will help by running any test needed. -

8 more hours.
No fix and no one is getting a free laptop -

Well I just got done unboxing my M17x-R2 everyone. I haven't done much with it yet but, I'm a bit irritated with it. Apparently the Crossfire cable isn't connected correctly as I can't enable Crossfire. So I'm gonna have to open it up to see if that's the problem. Damn you Dell!
Everything else from a cosmetic stand point is outstanding though. This thing feels solid. And the RGB Screen is just hmhmhm. Beautiful. Though with the issues of the flickering screen we'll see if my headache grows.
-
As usual, no solution.
Why Alienware says that on wednesday they would have some update/fix but they just ignore what they've promissed. -
The day is not over yet
... I am a hope for the best and expect the worst kinda guy .....

You guys are refering to jokers system thats been taken back right?
-
-
Whats ur view on ur m17x so far then brandon.
-
I think there should be a fix. -
-
yeah its still early hell he could be talking it over with them right now.
-
Joker should call them, and demand for some update about what's going on.
-
Hell yea i would be on the phone until i got a solid answer from the technicians themselves.

Sorry guys, I'm out. Can't deal with this nonsense anymore. I'm RMAing my system tomorrow and giving Dell a good piece of my mind.
I priced a Sager 17.3inch on Xotic PC with the same processor, a GTX 285m, and dual Intel X-25 160GB SSD's in Raid 0 for a couple hundred less than I paid for this brick.
No brainer for me at this point. Sorry I couldn't hold out, but I wish you all the best of luck. I'm still getting an m11x so hopefully I can still be a part of this community, and hopefully that won't have any issues. -
Joker should go hold a one-man picket line outside AW HQ -

Nah, my mind's made up. The intel drives are the icing on the cake. I was never a fan of Xfire/SLI anyway (too many issues), and the GTX 285m is more than strong enough. Not to mention I'm really turned off by ATI's horrendous driver support, otherwise I would've looked at the G73. -

-
i am on the phone with dell right now. or should i say hold with them lol.

Alienware needs to open up an "Epic-Fail Refresh Release Crisis Line." Make it a direct line with an informed team of techs taking info down about these issues and giving burned customers guarantees of a fix or new machine. This crapshoot support and information blackout is razing their fanbase to the ground in record time.

Hahahaha this gets better and better. I just had some arrogant rep tell me "it sounds like you're just not happy with the system so we'll have to put you on with tech support to verify your problem otherwise you will be charged the 15% restocking fee."
I get on with AW tech support and when I explained everything going on here in these forums, and that AW was looking into the problem, the rep was dumbfounded, and basically said I should try "different drivers."
I'm very over this company. It's just too much already, now they're making me jump through hoops to return the damn thing.
Guess I'll have to try again tomorrow. -
i hope it gets better, and they fix this soon.

I'm here for help I can be reached via phone to
