Stock clocks + 5%. The eleet program doesn't seem to work. This CPU runs very hot in my system (up to 87C during heavy load) so I wouldn't even recommend OC'ing anyway. I received a tube of MX-3 today but I think its useless because it's watery and normally its the opposite of that so I guess I'll have to live with AS 5 and higher temps a bit longer.

So I don't want to put a damper on things.....and I know the issue is about to be resolved. But i'm still having issues with flickering and problems in general while playing games. As I understand the temporary fix was to disable the turbo mode in the bios. This did not only not fix the issue it actually made the problems worse. Is anyone else having this kind of problem?

I think its either Disable turbo. Or Disable one card. It could be both. But i dont think it is. You can try.

Dude, I had crazy bad flickering as well. It was driving me insane.

All I did was disable one GPU. I didn't touch the turbo feature. Try that, but re-enable your CPU's turbo. See what happens.

Alright that fixed everything. No more issues with flickering or anything. Now is the bios update supposed to fix the crossfire issue as well or do I have to pick up an issue which I still might end up doing any ways in light of the blue-ray being available again.

I believe HWmonitor doesn't see the 4870s properly? I use the GPU-z program.

Guessing not after hearing some issues with it. Like the "freezing when power supply unplugged" one especially.

The system does not freeze if you pull the plug out while using Dell drivers. Performance is better and the system is more stable. I guess in this case OEM drivers are actually better than what the hardware manufacturer (ATi) has available.

We still use modded drivers, so let's wait until ATI release 10.3 with official mobile drivers support to compare who's better.

BTW if you guys look at the inf file they posted, it says this:

    "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870" = ati2mtag_M9x8, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_945A

That 945A means Dell :) Looks like Dell did not opt out of the program (so far). Hopefully it stays that way. Also I bet one of these vendor id's belongs to Dell:

    "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series" = ati2mtag_Manhattan, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68A0
    "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series " = ati2mtag_Manhattan, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68A1
    "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series " = ati2mtag_Manhattan, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68B0

I tried the drivers. Got 34 more GPU points in Vantage. My CPU went up 30 as well (lol).

Anyway, I am keeping these as they solved the issue I had with CCC not displaying anything on the Information window, and other windows. Looks good so far. I'm gonna try out a few games but foresee no immediate problems.

Nice, even though these are beta, hopefully you'll have a good experience with them.

Official mobility support should definately make things easier, and its nice to see a decent amount of mobility products already showing in the beta drivers.
Hopefully Clevo will join the fold.

CLEVO is the company most retailers of high end laptops rebrand and sell as their own.

Clevo are one of Alienware's biggest rivals when it comes to gaming laptops. They make the machines that companies like Kobalt, Rock and many others use. Dell/Alienware currently mostly uses Arima although they have used Clevo in the past.

@Joker - pretty nice. What clocks you running now?
Are you finally happy with your ATI cards now there are proper drivers coming? :D

I guess, its not like I have much choice in the matter. If nVidia had 380M GTX out and it was supported, I'd ditch ATi in a heart beat.

Arima was still used somewhat often seperate from Dell (The M9700 and M9750). So was Quanta.

Joker, what clocks did you use? I ran 10.2 last night on my R1 at 665/1130 and was still able to get 14k GPU.....why are the R2 scores all lower?

They might Opt out from professional series driver support, where stability is more important than few performance increase.

I did purchase the XM888 gpu upgrade 2 years ago out of my own pocket that cost me £453.99. Kinda worth it in the end cos im getting a £2800 worth system next week.

Ive spent over like £10k in 6 years with dell very good customer altho ive found there support ive been getting is very poor.

I should imagine i will also purchase the XFIRE 5870`s when they come available out of my own pocket. If all goes well they should be available by the time i make a new order that should be what ive asked for, so i will ask them to send me the 5870`s and ill pay the upgrade cost for them.

They (the 5870s) may be very hard to get from Dell....many people had trouble getting their hands on 4870s as an aftermarket upgrade - we all just got them as a warranty item over the DPC issue
