The timing actually couldn't be worse. People are in transition between DDR2 and DDR3 then supply gets cut off thanks to the Chinese Lunar New Year. Demand is going up and supply is jarred to a complete halt for two weeks at best. RAM prices are expected to go up up up until June at the earliest. Heard that from a market analyst working with a distributor talking to my boss. But then again, we can always hope for the best. Right? Right?

Who knows the way it will finally end up but it would be awesome if I was one of the first to get my hands on it :-D -

Oh crud. Uni just accepted my application, so I need my machine before March. Ohhh crrruuuddd...
-
I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these. I really hope that the CPU isn't total garbage.
-
Believe me, I know. Tomorrow UPS is picking up my RMA XPS 13 and 16s due to problems and sending them back to Dell. Feels good man. -
this baby is mine. -

I did not care to go intel because for the size the cost was way too much and I got this drive for a great price on my build, since my subtotal was only $1065, and final shipped total was only $1142 USD after tax on my build in sig + BT and SSD -- many people are getting 250/320GB 7200RPM for this price. Slower than Intel I know, but I'm sure I'll still be crushing any mechanical drives out there and plus I want the extra space in this certain SSD. A 160 or 128GB can't cut it for me considering this will be is main computer now. I already need an external HDD just in case =) -
I pretty much got the maxed out version(other than the 8gbs of ram) so it should be interesting to see how fast this is.
-
-
Nice, 777.10 with the SU4100, 4GB, 250GB HDD... and I still have the $50 and 3% DPA to take off.
Guys if you just make a call and tell them that you want to use both coupons they will give it to you. The $50 subscription coupon literally says "An extra $50 off" and no where does it mention it cannot be combined. Same goes with the other $50 and $100 coupons. Just call and whineShow em my screen shot if you have to.

Anyone have other reviews besides from the hardwareheaven and ign ones?

I know this thing is nowheres close to the M17X, but i was jw if it can handle simple Photoshop tasks, maybe even a bit of AutoCAD or Sketchup. It aint going to primarily be used for this, I just need to know if it can moderatly handle it in a pinch.
Thanks so much!

Think this should be renamed as the "BEST M11X DEALS" thread...
-
-
Zomg, that would mean it would take ages... Sigh. Now I might have to find another laptop... Owh crud.
-
-
Anyone have an idea what exactly is the integrated graphics? I assume it is some Intel, but which one?
-
Probably the 4500HD... Just a wild guess cause my dad's Vaio TT has a SU9400 and that intel graphics chip paired with it.
-
hey guys on my order status says work in process but when u click the order number and gives u the list it says in production? what does that mean?

Here's the only thing i want to know about it.
Sceen:
black level :
max brightness:
contrast ratio:
Viewing angles:
How these websites can do such thorough reviews and completely ignore the screen quality is beyond retarded and extrememly frustrating to me. "It's nice and bright", wow thanks, the sun is bright too, nice analysis. -
Probably cause any "real" gaming is expected to be done on an ext monitor? But then again its not yet out long enough for enough full reviews on the device.
-
How do I play original games that required disc to be inserted during gameplay on alienware M11x?Its really inconvenience for me to carry external disc drive with me all the time.
-
Most gaming should be done at a desk anyway, so the ext drive shouldn't be an issue. Just use steam like some people suggested earlier.
-
Exactly, just use Steam, who uses disks anymore anyway?
-
Where has Raydiddi gone anyway?
-
Steam can only play games that download with it right? But most of my games are original dvd for example like crysis,c&c3..etc..
-
So nuke you're argument that the screen on a notebook computer can be crappy is because one would rarely use it?
Why buy a notebook at all then when you could have a desktop with twice the power for less money?
Sorry your argument fails. This is a portable gaming computer, and i think a fair amount of people intend to use it as just that, not a desktop replacement as you suggest. -

UK release date appears to be sooner than march, i ordered mine on tuesday, and my dell sales rep tells me the ETA is 10 working days, even having pressed him on this point.
good news? -
Kinda, but then those games aren't exactly playable without a mouse which means gaming at a desk regardless. Some people recommend using No-CD cracks and ISOs but to stick on the safe side, just use steam from now on.

imaging and daemon tools does not work for many games though....I have tried that and neither Gears of War or Crysis will run off the image
-
Yeah skook, too many games have anti-piracy locks and stuff so tough luck really. Just stick to steam from now on. Its just so much more convenient.
-
Can register all my games on steam one?
-
-
WE HOPE!!!
